Work Text:
If there was one thing that Frisk Dreemurr knew the best, it was that they knew when people were feeling down. For instance, they would notice when their mama lacked the sparkle in her eyes when she wasn’t herself, try as she might to hide behind her usual kind smile. Papyrus never seemed to stop moving or grinning, but when his heart wasn’t in his work it was obvious he needed a little cheering up. Alphys would disappear for hours, Undyne’s voice would lower, and Mr. Asgore’s paws would shake as he poured tea. However, there were always two people in their little family that they could never read as well as the others. Sans- who was, well, Sans, and their robotic friend Mettaton who was as good at acting as he was at posing dramatically.
… Which was why it was so startling to them when Mettaton suddenly came back to Ebbot City when he was still supposed to be on tour.
It all started when Toriel asked them to tell everyone about the fall cookout that she and their dunkle sans were planning for the neighborhood that weekend. Frisk was happy to run errands, because it meant they got to ride their bike and spend time with a certain grumpy roommate with yellow petals.
“Why do you always take me with you?! You know I’m pretty awful at being good company, Frisk. I could easily stop your wheels and send you flying . Doesn’t that terrify you?” He would say nearly every time they went out together.
They only smiled knowingly and put flowey’s pot in their backpack. He grumbled. They didn’t care.
They let Toriel know they were heading out as they slipped on their little shoes. She reminded them to wear a helmet as any responsible nine year old should, and they assured her they would be alright. New Monster town was very safe, after all.
Frisk and Flowey made idle conversation as they pedaled along and waved at the neighbors who were outside. It had been nearly a year since they were released from the underground now, and everyone seemed to be enjoying the sun as much as possible. Monsters were a very active and friendly bunch.
The humans on the surface were apprehensive to accept monsters back into society at first, but once they had settled in and the news broke across the globe it had become a happy reunion the likes of which humanity had never seen- and Frisk Dreemurr became a household name. They didn’t mind the attention, but sometimes it was just nice to be a normal kid and ride a bike on a beautiful September day.
Sans was on his way to tell Papyrus and Frisk assumed that Undyne would spread the word to Napstablook and the others, so they decided to only make one stop for now. They pulled into the driveway of Alphys and Undyne’s little townhouse and were welcomed inside with a tight hug and an affectionate noogie by their fishy friend. They got a Capri-sun as a refreshment and Flowey muttered something rude under his breath when Alphys gave him a little cup of sugar water with a green straw, but nonetheless he appreciated the snack. (Even if he didn’t show it.) The two of them were very excited about the get-together since they hadn’t all been in one place since the release, but Frisk could tell that something was a little... off.
They were much quieter than usual. There was something odd about the way Alphys’ eyes shifted around the room every so often, and Undyne had the smallest lilt in her voice that erred on the side of concern.
“S-so frisk, do you think we should bring anything? Like a fruit salad o-or cookies or-?”
“Hmm... well,” they pressed their hands to their cheeks, “Papyrus is gonna be making his usual spaghetti, so Undyne, you might wanna come over a little early to help! You can bring cookies and stuff if you want, I mean, mom is gonna be baking like crazy and she says that you can never make enough food, so-“
Their train of thought was interrupted by the sound of heavy footsteps coming down the stairs and a familiar languid voice.
“AAAALPHY darling, have you seen my-“
Mettaton was halfway through a dramatic turn on the corner of the stairs when Frisk released a startled gasp of realization- and Mettaton appeared like he wasn’t expecting to have company either.
“TON TON!!”
“FRISK, DARLING!”
They crawled out of their chair and made a running dash for their fabulous robotic friend. Mettaton beamed, crouched down and opened his arms, catching the tiny human in a tight noodle armed hug.
“Oh ME oh MY! And just how IS my favorite human doing today, hm??”
“I’m great!! I just came over to tell Undyne and Alphys about the cookout my mom and Sans are gonna have, but omigosh I didn’t expect YOU to be here! I thought you were still somewhere in Europe!!”
Mettaton tossed his hair and looked off to the side. “HA HA… SURPRISE!”
Alphys skittered over to the two with Undyne following close behind holding flowey by his pot.
“O-oh frisk I forgot to tell you!! M-Mettaton’s um… Mettaton’s gonna be visiting for a little while! H-He’s sleeping over at our house while um- while he does some business… here…?”
That was strange. Even for Alphys’ constantly nervous tone, her voice sounded like she was hiding something.
Frisk looked at Alphys, and then back at Mettaton.
A pause. Undyne coughed. If he could, Mettaton would be sweating.
“...RIGHT YOU ARE, ALPHY! I JUST MISSED YOU ALL DEARLY, AND WHILE I'M ON CELEBRITY BUSINESS I JUST DECIDED TO STOP BY! I couldn’t possibly miss the chance to spend some time with my biggest fans!”
It was then that Frisk was able to take in his masterfully crafted face up close that they noticed a very small, but very important detail.
The lights in his eyes were dimmed despite him being fully charged.
“Mettaton, what’s the matter?”
With that, Mettaton almost deflated, his body language and countenance relaxing into despair.
“Ohhhh Frisk darling, you’ve figured it out it seems…”
Mettaton set frisk down on the floor and sat on the stairs, his knees to his chest. Frisk sat cross legged in front of him, Alphys and Undyne at either side of them. Mettaton flopped his head downwards, his gorgeous hair spilling down.
“For lack of a better word, I am… going through it. Apparently Humans are much different than Monsters when it comes to being an entertainer- I never knew that so many cameras could exist or that humans could be so… cruel. Needless to say, I need some time to rethink things. I appear to have bitten off more than I can chew.”
Alphys and Undyne piped up.
“H-he called me on Wednesday saying that he couldn’t do it anymore and he needed to come home… a-and of course I said yes!-”
“But dude , you’re completely out of it! All you do is mope around, you haven’t even been singing!”
Frisk’s heart ached. Mettaton was never like this, not even when he was upset on tv! The star of the show they had come to know and befriend had finally been broken.
Frisk crawled up into Mettaton's arms and gave him the biggest hug they could muster.
“Oh, thank you dearie…”
Frisk shook their head.
“Mettaton, I promise I’m gonna make you get back to your old self no matter what it takes! Trust me!”
Mettaton sighed. “Darling, I appreciate it, but these things take time… I won’t just magically feel better, you know?”
“Wellll, we could always start somewhere! How about you come to the cookout this weekend! I’m sure everyone would love to see you, especially Papyrus- he’s one of your biggest fans! Come to think of it, Papyrus would be the PERFECT monster to help cheer you up!”
Mettaton put a hand to his cheek and thought for a moment.
Papyrus. He didn’t know much about him other than he was Sans’ brother and Undyne’s best friend. He had been meaning to get to know him more as they were all a family, but he was so busy he never had the time. This could be a perfect opportunity to make a new companion, and of course he loved his fans.
“Papyrus, hm? Well I haven’t talked to him much, but he seems to be a decent skeleton… I suppose so! Whatever you say goes, Frisk!”
Undyne cackled. “Man, this guy and Papyrus? I mean they’re both overdramatic goofballs, so why not!! I think they’d get along great!”
Frisk gave Mettaton another hug, which made Mettaton smile. “Just you wait, I promise you I’m gonna help you out!”
——
The weekend had rolled around, and Mettaton had barely noticed it fly by. He promised Frisk he would be at the cookout, so of course he would look for the perfect thing to wear to look his best at his new debut. It was unusually cool and breezy outside in the hilly area of Ebbott, Texas, and even though he couldn’t feel the cold he decided to wear a pink sparkly sweater anyways. It took a while for him to find the perfect outfit- all of his other clothes lay in a pile around him on the floor. Nothing he wore seemed to work anymore. He looked at himself in the mirror, turned and brushed his eyes over his body.
It was a perfect creation, truly. Alphys had put her whole heart and soul into making it for him, and she even spent a good chunk of time once they returned to the surface to make adjustments that made it even more beautiful. His bangs now had a saucy pink stripe, his inconvenient shoulderpads gone, his chassis streamlined and efficient. Even his signature pink boots were altered to be more supportive and comfortable, and his battery consumption was much more efficient.
It was absolutely perfect. And yet, he sighed dejectedly. A body like this belonged to a real star.
There was a knock at his door and his best friend’s muffled voice was on the other side.
“M-Mettaton? We’re ready to go! Are you okay?”
Mettaton shook his head and smiled to give his voice a happier key.
“Yep! All good, darling! I’ll meet you downstairs!”
“A-Alright!”
He waited for her to leave and took one last look at himself.
Just for today. For Frisk!
He made his way down the stairs with a grin plastered on his face and posed dramatically once he reached the floor, and the three of them began walking down the street with wrapped food in tow.
Undyne elbowed him good naturedly.
“Hey. Thanks for coming out here, I know everyone appreciates it.”
He smiled softly.
“Oh darling, it’s no issue at all. I’m happy to see everyone again!”
“You know you can talk to us if you need to, right?”
Mettaton nodded.
“Of course! But I'm fine, dearie!” He lied.
“Alright…”
The walk was relatively short, as everyone in monster town lived close by. Toriel’s home was a cute little blue cottage nestled between two oak trees, and fairy lights and lanterns lit up the neatly decorated porch. The moment they got up the few porch stairs, a very excited Frisk opened the door with a bounce in their step.
“HI GUYS!! Mom! Sans! Paps! Undyne, Alphys and Mettaton are here!”
“HEYA STINKER!” Undyne laughed. “C’MERE!!”
She set her banana bread down on a porch chair and grabbed frisk up in a tight hug, Frisk squealing with laughter all the while. Mettaton chuckled at the sight, loving the adorable scene. He picked up the banana bread and followed Undyne inside, Alphys behind them carrying a tray of cutely cut veggies in the shape of various animals. Toriel’s home was cozy and quaint, the perfect home for a woman like her. The boss monster came in through the kitchen door with a wine glass in her paw, and her face lit up the moment she laid eyes on the robot.
“Mettaton!! You’re really here! When Frisk told me you were home I was so surprised! How are you!”
Mettaton smiled and set the banana bread on the coffee table, and before he knew it she had set her glass on an in table and wrapped Mettaton in a lovely motherly hug. He rested his head on her shoulder and embraced her back, the feeling of gentle calmness overwhelming his entire body.
“I’m alright. Thank you for inviting me, darling! Your house is absolutely beautiful!”
“It’s no problem at all, I’m happy to have you! Oh! Hello girls!”
“H-Hi Toriel!”
“Hey Tori! I got your kid.”
Frisk was still dangling from Undyne's arms, and they stuck out their tongue like a goober.
“Haha! Oh my child, you’re so silly! Go outside and see if the boys need any help with the grill, okay?”
“Okie dokie!”
Frisk wiggled down to the floor and scampered off outside. Alphys and Undyne picked up their food and brought it into the kitchen, still chatting with Toriel, which left mettaton alone in the living room.
He fiddled with his hands idly and started observing the space. Cute pictures hung on the wall of Frisk and their escapades, which made Mettaton smile. He didn’t want to be awkwardly moving around for too long, so he decided to go check out the delicious smell coming from the kitchen.
“heya, MTT. glad ya could make it.”
Sans himself was sitting at the kitchen table playing a game of chess with Flowey. Or was it checkers?
“Oh! Sans! I didn’t see you there! How are you?”
“i’m great! livin’ life on the surface, workin’, all sortsa stuff! surprised to see you here, though!”
“HAH, well, I just figured I’d stop by! Can’t go too long without spending time with my biggest fans, now can I?”
“true. speaking of fans, my brother’s always liked your stuff- he’s gonna be stoked to find out that you’re here. you two are a lot alike, I think you’d get along nice!”
Mettaton sauntered inside the kitchen.
“That’s what frisk said! From what I’ve seen he’s a pretty cool dude~” Mettaton giggled. “I love that shirt of his! It’s so bold!”
Mettaton looked over at a pot on the stove that was beginning to froth.
“Err, is that supposed to happen?”
“oh shit.”
Sans moved one of the pieces on the checkerboard.
“king me.”
“ WHAT?! ”
Flowey flipped the board in anger, and Sans got out of the breakfast nook to open the back door.
“paps! your spaghetti’s boilin’ over!”
“WHAT?! OH MY GOD- E-EXCUSE ME MR. DREEMURR- SANS YOU BONEHEAD!! WHY DIDN’T YOU CALL ME IN SOONER!”
In a blur a tall, handsome skeleton flew in through the back door and skidded to a halt in front of the stove, turning it off.”
“eh, sorry bro! you’re the spaghetti chef, not me!”
“WELL YOU COULD’VE AT LEAST- OH HI METTATON- AT LEAST KEPT AN EYE ON I-“
Sans had a shit eating grin on his face as Papyrus stopped and turned around. Mettaton giggled and waved, already amused by his enthusiasm. Papyrus wore an old rock and roll t-shirt tied up around his rib cage and a pair of jeans with a bandanna adorning his neck, which Mettaton thought looked quite cute on his figure.
“M-METTATON?! WHEN DID HE- WHO- WHY- OH MY GOD!”
“Hehe, hi there darling! I hear you’re quite a big fan of mine!”
Papyrus rubbed the back of his head, eyes wide and still stammering.
“I UM- YES! QUITE! I-I’M PAPYRUS, THE GREAT PAPYRUS! BUT MY FRIENDS CALL ME PAPYRUS! IT’S WONDERFUL TO MEET YOU IN PERSON!” He held out a gloved hand to shake, which Mettaton returned in his own.
“I know~ I hear that you’re quite the multitasking aficionado from your friend Undyne, I’m honored to finally be in the presence of The Great Papyrus! Is it true that you were the strongest monster in Snowdin? I’ve heard lots!”
Papyrus blushed, still holding Mettatons’ hand, and covered his face with the other one.
“OH GEEZ, I-I WOULDN’T SAY THAT! TECHNICALLY ASGORE COULD BE THE STRONGEST MONSTER IN SNOWDIN IF HE EVER TOOK A WALK THERE!”
Mettaton laughed. As in, he really laughed. Not the kind of polite giggle that he gives on stage or when he tried to appear friendly, but the kind of uncontrollable laugh that made him snort and bend at the waist in glee.
“HAH!! You are a RIOT darling!!”
“WHY THANK YOU!! THE GREAT PAPYRUS IS ALSO A WELL KNOWN COMEDY MASTER! SANS ISN’T THE ONLY FUNNYBONES AROUND YOU KNOW.”
Mettaton beamed as he looked at Papyrus up close for the first time. His smile was so bright and so genuine, and his jawline was perfectly cut, as if he was a Roman sculpture. But Mettaton didn’t care about looks.
He cared more about the fact that the broad shouldered skeleton made him actually laugh for the first time in weeks.
He was perfect. He had only just met him, and he was already falling hard.
He sighed, and redirected his attention to the stove so he wouldn’t stare.
“SO! Papyrus, tell me, what are you cooking here?”
Papyrus straightened up and excitedly bounded up next to him.
“WELL RIGHT NOW I AM MAKING MY VERY FAMOUS AND VERY DELICIOUS SPAGHETTI! I’VE GOTTEN A LOT BETTER AT IT SINCE WE GOT TO THE SURFACE, SO I’M SURE YOU’LL LOVE IT TOO!”
Frisk walked in through the back door with Asgore behind them.
“Ain’t that the truth, heheh!”
“HELLO MISTER DREEMURR! HELLO FRISK!”
Asgore smiled and ducked his head to get through the too short doorframe. Papyrus then continued explaining his secret seasoning method to Mettaton, but Mettaton’s eyes were far away from the pot. All he could do was stare at Papyrus and think about how much he wanted to kiss him.
Wait.
Kiss him?
As far as Mettaton knew he had never wanted to kiss anyone, and yet here he was fantasizing about cuddling the monster he just met, among so many other sweet domesticities. He wanted to listen to him talk for hours. The fans inside his chassis whirred as magic flowed through his artificial veins, turning his face as pink as his chest piece.
Was this… love?
“AND THAT’S WHEN YOU- OH, METTATON? ARE YOU OKAY?”
Mettaton realized that he had been staring off into the distance.
“HUH? O-Oh-“
The almost-awkward moment was interrupted when a familiar gloomy voice came through the front door.
“Oh… has the party started already…? Oh no... I’m late……”
Mettaton’s face lit up and he did a quick turn, finally breathing.
“BLOOKY!- Excuse me for a moment Papyrus darling, it's my cousin- BLOOKY DARLING I’M COMING!”
Mettaton left to go give his cousin a hug, but his thoughts regarding his new object of interest were still swarming.
——
Papyrus was utterly floored to see Mettaton himself at their humble cookout, but he was quite excited nonetheless! What was even more exciting was the fact that Mettaton appeared to be very interested in him. Of course Papyrus was very great and handsome and talented, but the fact that Mettaton recognized it too was enough to send his skull spinning. Over the course of the evening Mettaton and Papyrus exchanged many conversations, and Papyrus was incredibly touched that Mettaton took the time to listen to him recount stories of his many adventures- occasionally making Mettaton laugh in the most endearing way that he didn’t think was even possible. The sun had gone down and spaghetti and burgers were eaten, everyone conversing, and Mettaton was in the middle of eating a slice of cinnamon butterscotch pie on a foldable chair next to Toriel when Papyrus came up next to him with a glass of milk. Mettaton looked up at him and blinked his sharp lashes with a fork still in his mouth.
“FIGURED YOU COULD USE SOMETHING TO WASH THAT DOWN!”
“Oh! Thank you dear! It’s been such a long time since I’ve been able to properly eat monster food, I’ve forgotten that pies can leave one quite dry…”
“HOW WAS ALPHYS ABLE TO DO THAT? MAKE YOU ABLE TO EAT FOOD, I MEAN.”
“She installed another magic processing engine connected to my mouth! Pretty simple if you ask me… she’s really amazing.”
Mettaton looked over at the scene currently playing in the backyard. Frisk, Alphys and Undyne were playing kickball while Blooky watched. Crickets sung along with the ambient music from a radio somewhere.
“She and I used to talk about humans for hours. We’d talk about anything, really. Humans, anime, science, puzzles…”
Papyrus shuffled in his chair.
“YOU… YOU LIKE PUZZLES TOO?”
“Oh darling I LOVE them!”
“GEE… AND HERE I THOUGHT YOUR ENTHUSIASM ON TV WAS JUST FOR SHOW!”
Mettaton laughed again, but it was a polite laugh.
“Darling, a lot of things I do on tv are just for show- puzzles aren’t one of them.”
Mettaton stared at his plate.
“ARE YOU ALRIGHT?”
“W-What?”
Papyrus could tell that there was something wrong with his new friend.
“I SAID LETS GO GET SOME PIE! COME ON!”
Papyrus stood up and smiled, and then strutted back inside to the kitchen. Mettaton followed him gingerly, not sure of what was going on, but trusting Papyrus nonetheless. When Mettaton got inside, Papyrus was putting dishes in the sink.
“I KNOW WE’VE ONLY KNOWN EACH OTHER FOR A SHORT WHILE, BUT I CAN SEE THAT SOMETHING IS HURTING YOU… PEOPLE THINK I DON'T UNDERSTAND, BUT I DO. YOU DON’T LIVE WITH SANS WITHOUT PICKING UP ON THINGS, NYEH HEH!”
Mettaton sighed. So it was that obvious, huh. He hated to bring down the mood, but Papyrus was so very kind and so very genuine.
“…Well, I’m not just home because I wanted to visit.
When I came to the surface I was so sure that winning the hearts of humans would be as easy as it was to be a star for the monsters. Turns out humans can be really… Well, they can’t all be as good as Frisk. Of course I had fans and of course there were kind humans, but all of the constant work and performing a-and public appearances and questions, it was just so much. The human world is so much bigger than the underground after all.
I just don’t feel like a star anymore. I don’t feel like being a star anymore.”
Papyrus was listening to him talk with his arms crossed and a focused look on his face. Papyrus walked over and held Mettaton’s hand in his own. Mettaton’s face lit up and a flush spread across his cheeks.
“METTATON, AS YOUR FRIEND IT PAINS ME TO SEE YOU SO UPSET. I KNOW WHAT IT’S LIKE TO LOSE PASSION FOR SOMETHING YOU LOVE, AND IT’S A VERY NOT GOOD FEELING! FINDING YOUR SPARK CAN BE HARD! BUT WHILE YOU FIND IT AGAIN, I’LL BE HERE, ROOTING YOU ON AS YOUR FRIEND AND FAN! I BELIEVE IN YOU, SO YOU SHOULD BELIEVE IN YOURSELF!”
Mettaton stood there for a minute, absolutely enamored at his words. Ghost tears filled his eyes and began to float.
“Ha… hahaha…”
“M-METTATON? ARE YOU ALRIGHT? WHY ARE YOU LAUGHING? W-WHY ARE YOU CRYING?”
Mettaton, still laughing through blubbered sobs wiped away his tears and smiled.
“N-No, darling, I’m okay, I just… oh, excuse me…”
He wiped away the last tear with a single finger, a wobbly smile on his face. He then without thinking wrapped his arms around Papyrus’ shoulders and pulled him into a hug, not caring about anything else.
“Thank you dear…”
Papyrus hugged him back enthusiastically, a smile still on his face.
“IT’S NO PROBLEM AT ALL! I’M ALWAYS HAPPY TO HELP A FRIEND!”
Mettaton pulled away with a blush on his cheeks, feeling much better.
“Let’s go back outside, shall we? I’m sure everyone is wondering where we are.”
Papyrus nodded.
“OF COURSE!”
The two of them went back outside and enjoyed the rest of the cookout together with the others until everyone decided that it was time to go (conveniently it was also when Frisk had fallen asleep.) The monster family said their goodbyes, and just as Papyrus was leaving Mettaton rested a hand on his shoulder making the skeleton turn his head.
“Papyrus, I- I just wanted to thank you. For what you said, I mean. You really are as great as they say, you know.”
He flushed and covered his cheeks with his palms.
“GOLLY, THANKS METTATON!! YOU FLATTER ME!”
Mettaton looked off to the side.
“I’ll- see you again, right?”
“… YOU… WANT TO SEE ME AGAIN?”
“Of course! Why wouldn’t I? We’re friends, aren’t we?”
“NO REASON! OH! I’LL GIVE YOU MY PHONE NUMBER! ALL MY FRIENDS HAVE IT!”
The two exchanged numbers and undernet handles, and with that, Papyrus waved goodbye and got in his car to drive home.
Mettaton smiled as he drove off, still standing in the doorway unaware of the smaller skeleton next to him.
“so?”
“AH! OH- Sans you startled me!!”
“eheheh, my bad. I got a bad habit of sneakin’ up on people. anyway, you and my bro seemed to get along like peas and carrots tonight! whaddya think of him?”
Mettaton looked away and smiled, tucking a lock of loose hair behind his ear as he spoke.
“He’s… really sweet… turns out we have a lot in common!”
Sans grinned.
“oh. my gosh.”
“ What.”
“nothin’! just happy that my bro’s made a friend is all! he really admires you, y’know. he likes your eyes and fancy hair.”
“He thinks it’s fancy?”
Sans grinned even wider.
“‘night, mtt.”
“WHAT WAS THAT LOOK FOR? I SAW THAT!”
Before Mettaton could get any answers, Sans had already teleported away.
Well, it didn't matter. The moment Mettaton and the girls got back to their house, he grabbed a pillow and dramatically flopped himself on the couch with a sigh. He hugged the pillow close to his chest and beamed thinking about his new friend.
“Uh, Mettaton? A-Are you okay?”
Mettaton looked up to see Alphys staring at him quizzically from above the couch.
“Oh Alphy, Alphy my dear dear friend! I’m better than okay! I’m in LOVE!”
“ WH-HUH?”
Alphys fell over and landed on the wood floors, the commotion causing Undyne to stick her head out of the fridge.
“YOU’RE WHAT ?! WITH WHO?!”
Mettaton stood up and twirled, ending his flourish with a dramatic pose.
“Oh my dears, is it so shocking that I too have the heart of a bachelor? Honestly I-I’m a little shocked too because I’ve never… had these feelings before, but I am Cupid’s cruel victim and his arrow has pierced my very being!”
“How did you… oh my gosh. Y-you we’re talking to- OH MY GOSH.”
Undyne turned her head.
“Can someone please explain? I’m lost.”
Alphys looked at Undyne with stars in her eyes.
“BABE! DON’T YOU SEE WHAT'S GOING ON HERE?! METTATON’S IN LOVE WITH PAPYRUS !”
Mettaton giggled and hugged himself again at the phrase like a blushing schoolgirl. Undyne, however, was turning shades of colors only shrimps could see.
“YOU…. WHAT?!”
Alphys and Mettaton’s smiles suddenly fell as Undyne stomped over to Mettaton and grabbed him by the sweater collar.
“WUOH- DARLING WHAT‘S-?”
“ LISTEN HERE YOU BUCKET OF BOLTS. I DIDN’T LIKE YOU. I DIDN’T TRUST YOU. But you’re Alphys’ best friend and you’ve proven to be a decent guy. But so help me if you so much as look at Papyrus wrong or if you break his heart, I will destroy you. That skeleton is precious to me and if you do anything to him to hurt him, you’ll know just how scary I can be. Got it?”
Mettaton gulped, nodded, and Undyne let go of his shirt and dropped him to the floor.
“Great!” She said with a toothy smile. “See you tomorrow! ‘Night, Mettaton!”
Mettaton lay on the floor, slightly shell shocked and looked at Alphys who was wringing her hands nervously.
“Hehehe, y-you know how Undyne can be!”
Mettaton flopped back and laid on the carpet.
“Darling, you have a frightening taste in women.”
