It isn't perfectly quiet, but that's just fine; that stillness would be eerie and uncomfortable. Luka savors the blow of the wind in ship's sails, the sound of boots on the pier as seamen bustle around. His favorite is the sound of waves crashing against wood and stone; the water is both noise and an absence as it is so tame it falls into the background but so fierce that it stands out.
He grips Marinette's hand as she joins him at the walkway edge to let her legs hang over the sea. She smiles at him. She closes her eyes and breathes deep, sighing as the stress leaves her body and she falls against his side. Her head rests on his shoulder, peace to her mind at last.
Marinette is a crowded girl. Between her parents' boulangerie, her schoolwork, her extracurriculars, and all her rapidly changing thoughts and emotions, there is a lot of noise inside her life. Luka can hear it when he is around her. In contrast, this place is calm and controlled as dutiful people go about their work single-mindedly and nature maintains it's natural rhythm.
It's relaxing, which is why Luka has brought her. He smiles softly, content that he can share it with her like this.
Marinette's features smooth out as she relishes in the silence.
