Summary:

He could only hope that Katsuki was taking good care of his shirt, it looked better on him anyway.

Notes:

Note that Deku is not the villain of this story, don't hate him. I wrote this because I am going through some not very good times, so this one shot is not intended to be really good, but more of a vent fic project. I hope that you who are reading this understand. Oh, and English is not my first language, sorry for the mistakes. Have a good read, constructive criticism is always welcome!

Work Text:

Sometimes, as he lay in his bed, Kirishima remembered the moments he had spent with her lover. Lover. No... today, the red-haired boy would acknowledge that he never really became a lover. Kirishima's relationship with Bakugou could never be named. They kissed once in a while, nothing really sexual. Eijirou was fine with that, he never wanted to cross the midnight kiss barrier, nor did Bakugou, and he had respected that.

But he couldn't deny that he missed Katsuki's sweet, warm touch, or falling asleep in his arms when it was cold. Yes, Kirishima not only missed Bakugou, he was desperately in love with the platinum-haired boy. He would have given anything to have realized that sooner.

But along with the good memories that flashed through his mind as he went to bed, came the unpleasant ones as well.

Eijirou and Bakugou used to talk. Trivial conversations, deep conversations, conversations about feelings... and in those conversations Bakugou would mention Izuku from time to time. Kirishima had never seen Katsuki mention Deku except to tease or be mean to the boy, so when Bakugou decided to talk about the green-haired boy, Kirishima paid attention. Listening to every detail of the shit Bakugou did and said to Midoriya, and how deeply he regretted the things he had said in the past.

Eijirou had always wanted the best for Bakugou, so in one of the evening's conversations he had mentioned something about trying to make amends with Izuku by getting closer to him, becoming more intimate with the boy. He couldn't remember exactly what he had said, thinking about it hurt more than it should have. Bakugou didn't like the idea at first, but after discussing it with Kirishima, he thought it might be a good for both of them.

So with each passing day, Eijirou noticed that Bakugou was getting closer than he had ever been with Deku. With each passing day, Kirishima noticed that his conversations and meetings with Bakugou were painfully and slowly dwindling to nothing.

Eijirou had become nothing to Katsuki.

And Kirishima could do nothing but feel a huge emptiness in his chest. He was happy for Bakugou, he really was! Seeing Katsuki happy next to a person who for a long time the boy with the platinum hair thought could never gain trust and empathy for him again, made him happy.

It had come to a point where Kirishima no longer had any news of Bakugou, only seeing him occasionally next to Midoriya. Chatting, laughing... he should be in Deku's place, slowly falling in love with Katsuki. But he wasn't, and that was clear.

The other day Eijirou had seen Bakugou wearing a shirt that had once been his, but the elder had stolen it. He could only hope that Katsuki was taking good care of his shirt, it looked better on him anyway.
