It's a Monday morning where the sun is shining, the sky is crisp blue, and the aromas of caramel syrup and chocolate shavings fill Dejun's nose as she ponders over what she should order.
The cafe door opens and Dejuns finds herself a handful of Huang Renjun and Zhong Chenle. Dejun adores her vice-president and secretary but as the three of them see each other 24/7 due to them being in the school student council together and living in the same neighborhood, Dejun sometimes wishes she has a breather but she knows she'd miss them less than 10 minutes later.
"There she goes again," Renjun starts as she looks at Dejun up and down, "thinking about the event for the football team because she claims she wants it to be perfect for everyone even though we know it's because of Kunhang and Yangyang."
Dejun hisses at the slightly smaller boy as Chenle giggles at the side.
"Jun, are you paying for today? Or was it my turn?" Chenle asks.
The three had a little thing they'd do where they would take turns paying whenever they were together. It started as kids where they would go to the ice cream shop that was just across their neighborhood and whoever would get there last would have to pay.
Renjun looks up from her phone as she checked the date and answers "Chenle". The youngest smiles as she reaches for her wallet and makes her way to the counter, and recites her order along with Dejun's and Renjun's.
The three makes their way to a booth after Chenle pays and Dejun immediately announces her many ideas for the football event which the student council came up with to encourage Rainbow V's football team for the upcoming championship.
The team consisted of Kunhang who was the team's captain along with Yangyang, Sicheng, Jeno, Jaemin, Mark, Jisung, Shotaro, and Sungchan.
"What do you think of a banner filled with football drawings?" Dejun asks as she drinks her mint chocolate chip frappuccino while Renjun munches on her lemon macarons and Chenle drinks her double chocolate frappuccino.
"Jun, don't you think we've done enough for this celebration?" Renjun asks as she finishes her second macaron out of the five.
Dejun sighs and ponders. They are doing a lot for this celebration, she thinks as she goes over the list.
Dejun had thought of doing the celebration in their campus gym with just the football team and the student school council members as she was worried that the gym might overflow. She also thought of having the team's past uniforms hanged up to the wall (the school had kept it to encourage future players) while the gym is filled with football-shaped balloons, confetti, football-shaped glasses for drinks or ice cream, and Rainbow V's past championship trophies.
Preparation starts as soon as the students have left campus and only the football team would be left practicing as they always would during Monday Mid-afternoon.
"She's right, Jun." Chenle mutters. "I'm sure the football team would be satisfied with this and besides it was your idea, I'm sure Kunhang and Yangyang would love it more."
Dejun blushes as she sips more of her mint choco chip frappuccino with Renjun's and Chenle's laughter echoing in the background as she fights herself to not blush more.

The three exit the coffee shop an hour later as they head towards Rainbow V for their photography and music theory classes. The three grew up with mutual immense love for the camera along with music and the love only grew as they got older and also embraced each other's differences.
The three thankfully have at least one of them for each class. Dejun had Chenle for music theory every Monday and Wednesday while she had Renjun for photography on Tuesday and Thursday. Renjun had Chenle for visual arts on Fridays.
The two wave goodbye to Renjun as they enter Mr. Lee's classroom.
Mark's laughter welcomes Dejun and Chenle as they look for vacant seats. One of the many good things at Mr. Lee's class was that he didn't assign any permanent seats like some professors at Rainbow V do.
"Junnie! Lele!" Mark exclaims as he spots the two girls that just walked in. Dejun shoots him a smile as she drags Chenle to a spot near the front of the classroom. Chenle waves a hand in Mark's direction and sits next to Dejun.
Donghyuck enters a minute later and Chenle immediately tackles the slightly older guy as Donghyucks wraps his arms around Chenle's waist.
"Hey, Jun!" Donghyuck says as soon as Chenle stops hugging the boy and Dejun wraps her arms around Donghyuck's shoulders as she pats his head. She lets him go as she sees Mr. Lee enter the classroom and Donghyuck decides to sit close to them.
The class goes on for the next hour and a half. Dejun stretches her arm before she starts packing as Mr. Lee dismisses them and exits the classroom after half of his students have already exited.
Mark, Sungchan, and Shotaro make their way towards the other three that are still in the classroom. Mark immediately hugs Chenle (she likes to think it's because she's his favorite kid) as Shotaro wraps his arms around Dejun. Sungchan stands next to Donghyuck.
Shotaro and Sungchan transferred to Rainbow V at the same time and joined the little family the student council and the football team had formed almost immediately.
Shotaro knew Dejun when they were little kids as the two went to the same elementary while Sungchan was an awkward, little (more like tall, very tall) bean towards the student council members as they didn't see each other as often as the football team.
"Have you seen Ten and Kun, Mark?" Dejun asks as the six of them exit the classroom and make their way towards Renjun's astronomy class.
Mark nods as he looks back to where he has last seen the duo. "Last time I saw them was at the football field." Dejun nods as she grabs her phone and texts Ten that their classes were done.
They meet up with Renjun near her astronomy class as they head to the gym lockers. Mark, Sungchan, and Shotaro change, and they make their way towards the football field. The rest of the members were already there along with Ten and Kun. Mark tackles Donghyuck in a hug and Renjun frowns slightly. Dejun looks over and giggles as she pulls the frowning girl next to her.
"That's enough, Mark." Kunhang starts. "Stop blowing up your best friend's chance." Yangyang finishes as the football team cackles when they see Donghyuck turning red as Mark also starts cackling. Mark pats Renjun's shoulders as he pushes his best friend towards her.
Dejun, Renjun, Chenle, Ten, Kun, and Donghyuck head towards the bleachers as the football team starts their practice.
The student council and football team got close thanks to Sicheng and Ten. The two had been best friends since newborns as their parents lived next to each other. They then met Kun, Kunhang, and Yangyang as the three lived across them which also led them to meet Mark, an only child that lived a couple of houses down. Jeno, Jaemin, and Jisung came into the picture a little later when they met in a football club. Donghyuck was already friends with Dejun, Chenle, and Renjun due to them being in the same neighborhood and he introduced them to Jeno, Jaemin, and Jisung which then lead to meeting the rest of their little football team and their whole little family felt complete when Sungchan and Shotaro joined.
Dejun makes her way towards their usual spot which was just a couple of stairs up that had the whole view of the field. Kun settles himself next to Dejun and Ten follows suit. Chenle sits next to Dejun and Renjun sits next to her while Donghyuck sits behind the still frowning girl.
"Are you ever gonna ask them out, Jun?" Kun asks after a couple of minutes. Dejun tenses slightly but brushes it off. She shakes her head for a 'no' in hopes that Kun will drop it off. Like always, the older boy doesn't drop it that easy.
Kun opens his mouth to retaliate but Kunhang's 'this is for you, Jun!" interrupts them and Dejun finds herself a cackling Chenle in her arms along with teasings from Renjun and a smirk from Kun, Ten, and Donghyuck. Dejun keeps looking at the field to see if Kunhang does score and the football team roars in excitement when the boy does.
Dejun slightly smiles and Yangyang smirks as he sees it.
"You owe me a kiss if I shoot this, Junnie!" the younger yells as he makes a runs towards the net. Dejun widens her eyes and Donghyuck howls with laughter as Chenle yells "Junnie has two boys chasing after her!"
Yangyang does end up scoring and he winks at her when he sees the older sporting a blush.
"You owe me one too, Jun!" Kunhang yells.
The teasings stop as the football team focuses again and Dejun slightly thanks Kunhang as he makes his team focus once again. Practice ends at 5 pm and Dejun asks for clarification if the gym is ready from Ten and Kun. Ten smirks and swings his arms around Dejun.
"Kunhang and Yangyang would love it, Jun." Ten beams.
"What would we love, Ten?" Yangyang asks as he places himself beside the blushing Dejun and he smiles softly at her.
Ten smiles. "You'll see and maybe it'll give you encouragement to finally do what you promised me."
Dejun opens her mouth to ask but Ten leaves and Kunhang appears and walks beside her. Dejun can hear Chenle snickering along with Renjun trying to whisper (Dejun knows she's being loud on purpose).
The football team enters the locker room and Kun stays behind to lead them to the gym while the rest of the student council go to the gym. Dejun opens the double door and is in awe.
"Ten, you amazing human being!" She exclaims as she picks up the older to twirl both of them around. Chenle is taking pictures while Renjun is at one of the tables looking at the desserts with Donghyuck behind her.
The door is opened and Jisung appears with Jeno and Mark. The three have their mouths open as they look at the fully decorated gym. "Is this the surprise?" Mark asks in English because of shock.
"Yea, man." Ten answers as he flaunts himself. "I'm amazing, aren't I?"
"Fuck yea, man!" Mark yells as he curses still in English. Ten smiles at that and the doors open once again revealing Jaemin with Sungchan and Sicheng in tow.
Jaemin screeches when he sees the decorations and spins Dejun around as soon as he spots her. "Is this the surprise I heard Ten and Kun talking about?"
Dejun nods. "Yea! Do you like it?"
Jaemin scrunches his forehead as he makes his eyes bigger. "Like it? Dude, I love it so much I could kiss you!"
"I dare you, man," Yangyang speaks with mockery in his tone and Jaemin sticks his tongue out at the boy.
Jaemin puts Dejun down as Yangyang and Kunhang make their way towards them. Jaemin runs to the other side of the gym to get away from the three.
"Did you do this for us, Junnie?" Yangyang asks after a beat later. Dejun blushes slightly and wants to say 'I did this for all of you' but Dejun sees the admiration in Kunhang and Yangyang's eyes along with hope in them.
Dejun nods and smiles. "Yea. I mostly did this for you guys," she confesses as she looks down.
Kunhang grabs her chin to make Dejun lookup.
"We love it," Yangyang assures and doesn't break eye contact with her. Dejun breaks it a second later and finds that kunhang is already looking at her.
"I wanna kiss you so bad, Jun," Kunhang whispers. Dejun widens her eyes.
"But we'll take this slow." Yangyang comforts her. Dejun slightly relaxes and nods.
Yea, they can take this slow.
Renjun and Chenle softly squeal as they see Kunhang and Yangyang taking turns kissing Dejun's cheek. Ten smiles softly as he tightens his grip on Kun's arm. Sicheng, Mark, Jeno, and Jaemin smiles as they see Kunhang and Yangyang finally gaining balls before stuffing their faces with the football-shaped cookies while Jisung, Donghyuck, Sungchan, and Shotaro cheer.
