Summary
Shu Yi never thought someone looking at him, truly seeing him, could make such a difference. He wanted someone like that, though he had no real grasp on what that actually meant, and he wouldn’t have admitted to it, either, but all that Shi De gives him, because he wants to, because it makes him happy to make Shu Yi happy, that feeling is something incredible he never wants to miss, and gift back to his love.
It’s a rush, a high, a miraculous feeling that brings a false assurance of security, a belief he’s invincible, will overcome any external problem with ease, and continue to feel only this good. He deserves it, after years of pain, they deserve it, of course. But life has a way of overwhelming us, in whichever direction, with taxing challenges.
