Work Text:
She wakes up screaming.
It was the nightmares.
Of her, almost being killed.
Where the people who had thought she was a witch, tried to kill her.
What did she do?
She didn't do anything.
Her dark locks fall over her head, as the room turns Scarlet, looking like blood.
She's breathing heavily, but every small breath gets stuck in her throat and she makes a choking cry sound erupt.
"Wanda."
Kurt.
His accent isn't as thick as it usually is, and he places his hands on her shoulders cautiously, as if to held relieve the pain.
She pushes him away, getting off of the bed as she corners herself. "Stay back." She hisses, hoping her tone isn't cold. "I don't want to hurt you."
He slowly moves off of the bed, raising his hands.
She could see through the red light coming from the walls that his hair was a mess, and hers was most likely a mess as well.
She didn't want to think about it. The walls felt like they were closing in on her, slowly.
She felt as if they were going to crush her to pieces.
Her breathing sped up, and she wrapped her arms around herself tightly, as if to protect herself from herself.
Her knees almost instantly turn into water as she falls to the ground, tears choking their way out of her body.
Kurt wraps his own arms around her frame, and she doesn't move.
"It hurts." She chokes out.
"I know." He whispers in reply, his arms tightening around her body.
"Please! I hurts! It hurts so much! I-" She chokes out, before swallowing as tears drip down her face. "It hurts! Please, make it stop!"
Kurt knows he can't do anything, and it hurts him.
She closes her eyes, wishing it wasn't real.
He breathes softly, his breath cold in their hot room.
The scarlet magic removes itself from her magic room, and the magic comes back to Wanda.
Her mouth opens as she absorbs the magic back into her body, and her eyes close almost instantly.
Kurt sighs, picking up the Witch in his arms, before teleporting back onto the bed.
He lays the woman down onto the bed, laying down next to her, before pulling the covers up and over onto them.
He closes his eyes, before he hears soft moans and shuffling.
He looks over, seeing Wanda, while asleep, shuffling closer to him.
He pulls her closer to him, and she places her head on his chest, and he wraps his arms around her, sighing softly.
"Good night, Wanda." He whispers, his accent not as thick.
"Mmmh." Was her response.
...
As Wanda wakes up, she realizes that Kurt isn't beside her.
She sighs, pushing her head into the pillows as she hears noises from outside the door.
"Vanda?" She hears a voice from the other side of the room, and Wanda removes her head from the pillow.
Wanda rubs a hand over her head, her eyes landing onto what was in his hands.
"What's that?" Wanda asks in a tired tone.
"Breakfast. Unless you don't want it." Kurt says.
"I do." She murmurs. "I feel sick."
He stands there, before sitting down next to her, placing the food on her lap.
Wanda stares at her food, not knowing if she wanted to eat it or not.
"Vanda? Are you alright?" He asks.
"I'm sorry about last night." She says out of the blue. "I shouldn't have waken you up. I'm sorry. I didn't mean to."
"It's alright." Kurt says, but Wanda looks at him, shaking her head.
"No-No, it's not alright. I shouldn't have woken you up." She looks down. "I shouldn't have woken you up. I could've dealt with it myself. I'm sorry."
He pushes her chin up, looking her directly in the eyes. "It is alright, Vanda. I'm always here for you, you know."
Wanda slowly smiles, realizing he's right.
“Okay.” She swallows. “You should eat something as well.”
“I vill.” His accent is still thick. “You need it more than me right now, though.”
She nods, eating the food that was placed in front of her, seeing it was breakfast foods.
“Thank you.”
