Jack walked into the barn. “What’s with Ty? He’s under a dark cloud this morning.”
“Kate told him that she and Scott are dating yesterday. He’s not taking it well.”
Jack whistled. “Don’t blame him. There is quite an age difference there.”
“No more than you and Lisa. Or Dad and Mom, for that matter.”
“It doesn’t make as much of a difference when you are my age. And, I felt the same way about Tim and your mom when they started dating, for what it’s worth.”
“See,” said Ty, coming back into the barn. “I’m not crazy.”
“But I also learned the hard way that resisting two people in love is a surefire way to drive them together,” said Jack, looking pointedly at Ty. “They’ll figure it out. You give them the space to do it.”Ty Borden is reunited with his younger sister Kate, who had been removed from the home by protective services when he went to juvie. She becomes a part of the extended Bartlett family, eventually working at Scott's clinic alongside her brother. When she and Scott begin a relationship, Ty's protective nature kicks into overdrive. Despite struggling to overcome their differences, Scott and Kate learn together what it means to make a home.
