Chapter 1: Meeting the Devil

Chapter Text

He raced around the alleyway, his arm curled over a wound on his waist. His breathing was heavy but quiet as waited anxiously for the footsteps to grow louder.

"In some trouble I see."
He jumped around from where he heard the voice to see a figure he didn't recognise.

"Playing with too many tricks up your sleeve, ey Richie."
The stranger spoke, walking closer to him and letting the dim street lights slowly shine onto him. Dark fur covered his entire body and bright yellow eyes and horns curved backwards with jewels, Richard couldn't even afford to touch styled all over them.

"Y-you... no you cant be"-

"The Devil?"
The figure spoke up, a grin widening on his face, exposing all of his sharp jagged teeth. Richard stepped back, knowing full well he wouldn't be able to defend himself this time but it seemed the devil had other plans in mind.

"I'm not here to hurt you."
The devil raised his hands up and erased his smile. Richard looked up at him with confusion but also suspicion.

"Then what do you want? I don't have any money and"-

"I wanted to make a deal with you."
The devil interrupted again. His eyes narrowed with loss.

"A deal?"

"Yes. I do something for you and in return... you work for me."

"Work for you? I-I... why would you want me to work for you?"
Richard asked his hand still covering his wound.

"I've seen your talents, Richie and I believe they could be used quite well for my business."

"Don't call me that and, talents? Sir- I mean devil? I cant even fool a simpleton"-

"Are you questioning my choices?"
The devil was stern and serious now, obvious that his patience was running thin as he moved closer to Richard, towering over him with his piercing eyes staring down.

"N-no... I-I mean, it's just, why me?"
He asked again but the devil didn't immediately answer. Turning away and crossing his arms behind his back.

"That's for me to know and you to find out."

"Well you said a 'deal' so what's in it for me?"
The devil turned around with a smirk, his back twisting around as he calmly walked closer to him.

"You can be who you really want to be."
Richards eyes widened as he immediately thought of his perfect self in his head. Yet he still questioned whether the actual devil was really considering making him truly a man or if it was all for pranks.

"You mean"-

"Yes. you'll finally be able to live as a true man. Do we have a deal?"
He thought about this closely. The footsteps were growing louder and the screams were getting closer. Richard looked down at his wound which was far from healing and looked back at the devil whose hand was out waiting for his. He closed his eyes and thought

'fuck it'

as he gripped tightly onto the devils hand and shook as he awaited for something terrible to occur. Once the devil had let go of his hand, he finally opened his eyes to see that he was now in a completely different area. It was bright and filled with sparkles of jewellery and gold. A desk layed in front of him with a feathered pen and a piece on paper lying on it.

"What is this place?"

"This is my office."
The Devil said sitting down on the chair hiding behind the old desk.

"Now for this to truly work, you need to first sign this."
The Devil rotated the piece of paper towards Richard, showing the paper to be a contract, to sign away your soul.

"I thought we made the deal by shaking hands?"

"Oh, no. That was just to see if you were willing to."
Richard looked down at the paper and hesitated, if he really did this he would be throwing everything away. But none of that mattered if it meant he could finally be himself. He grabbed the pen and signed his named, causing it to disappear into thin air. As the paper disappeared, he started to feel strange. He looked down at his hand and could see it slowly light up. Richard let the glowing sensation move up his body slowly embodying him in a bright glow.
Richard suddenly opened his eyes and could already feel the new changes. His chest felt less compressed and down there... felt bigger. Richard looked all over, also noticing a change in outfits. He went from being in a bloody stained blue shirt to a fancy purple-ish suit with white gloves and a purple bowtie.

"Wooah this is awesome."
Richard was amazed and couldn't stop looking at his new body and clothes.

"Oh and one thing I forgot to add was since, you're working for me- I had to make a few other changes to ya too."

"Other changes? What changes?"
The devil leaned down underneath his desk and pulled out a small mirror, facing it towards Richard and showing that where his face would be, a dice with a face on it looked back. Richard was confused, reaching his hand up and putting it on his face, seeing the hand also touch the dice face in the mirror. Richard then used both hands and felt his face, feeling the edges and corners of a dice, just like in the mirror.

"You made me a dice?!"

"Correction, only your face is a die."
The devil threw the mirror to the side, shattering it to pieces like he always does.

"But... Why?!"

"I'm going with an aesthetic where all my employees match with my business."

"What sort of business are you running, that a dice face would match it?!"
Richard pointed to his face, filled with frustration and already missing his original face. The devil just looked at him with an eyebrow raised.

"I work at a casino... duh."
Richard had a bit of doubt, turning around and seeing a door. He stormed over to the door and threw it open, seeing the main area where multiple people were gambling and laughing over a beer. Richard couldn't believe it. Somehow he never expected a casino to be the devils business. But now that he thinks about it, it makes a lot of sense really.

"Oh! And you're name won't be Richard anymore."
The devil stood beside him, looking out at his business running.

"It'll be Dice."

Chapter 2: Mr. Wheezy

Chapter Text

"Dice? Is it because my head is a dice?"
He questioned, not liking the name at all.

"Duuh, it'd be dumb to name ya beer jug or somethin."
The devil quickly thought of a dumb example, twisting his hand in a circle nonchalantly.

"Can I have a different name? Dice just sounds"-

"How about, King Dice?"
The devil suddenly suggested, looking at Dice and actually making him consider it.

"King Dice sounds good."
King Dice accepted, liking the royal status.

"Okay, well what do I do exactly?"
King Dice asked, clasping his hands together as he looked around at the option of possible positions he could have.

"You'll be the manager ooof... everything."

"Everything?!"
King Dice exclaimed as The devil waltzed back inside his office. King Dice followed him inside, closing the door behind him.

"Yep. That's what I said- do you have some sort of hearing disability?"
The devil asked, turning around to face King Dice as he stood behind his desk.

"N-no- it's just, I don't know how to work a casino or what to do...?"

"You'll figure it out. All of the others have."
The devil relaxed in his chair, waving King Dice away. King Dice glanced away, tempted to continue and hope the devil would give him some coordination but eventually decided to just accept what he said and took a deep breath, turning around and heading out the door.

"Okay, fine. Thank you... Boss."
King Dice closed the door behind him, already sweating heavily, somehow, as he trembled forward, looking at all the people look at him with curiosity and suspicion themselves.

King Dice suddenly started to question whether he really made the right decision. King Dice knew it was too late to question things and he was now apparently the manager so he had to start acting like one. King Dice stopped beside one of the gambling tables with a bunch of smiling people surrounding it.

"Hey! How's everything going around here? Everything working alright?"
King Dice waved, asking in a all too cheery voice, shutting up all the players quickly as they looked back at him with dissatisfying glares. Dice lowered his hand slowly, letting out a small awkward chuckle as he inched backwards slowly fading further away from the table and the seemingly unhappy people.

"Oh this WAS! a terrible idea... I can't do this..."
Dice crumbled, crouching under an empty table, hiding his cubed face in his palms.

"Hey? you 'right there?"
An unknown voice asked. Dice quickly jolted his head up, banging it against the bottom of the table as he saw a pair of feet, standing in front of him. Dice crawled out from his hiding space, standing up right and seeing a man with a big baggy jacket, and a cigar in his mouth with a cigarette for a head.

"Oh! um do you work for the devil?"
Dice asked noticing the similar appearances he had with this man.

"Yeah and who are you? Not many people I've seen, hide under tables."
Dice chuckled in embarrassment, moving his hand to rub the back of his neck, but realising he didn't really have one. Quickly pushing his hand beside him.

"I'm um Rich- I mean! King Dice."
Dice held out his hand as the man pulled out his and shook Dice's hand.

"Oooh King Dice. Nice."

"Thanks, and what about you?"

"Wheezy- Mr. Wheezy."
He introduced himself, pushing his hands back into his jacket as he pulled out the cigar.

"So what did the devil himself assign you to?"

"Mm! oh um apparently I'm the... manager? or well he said I was in charge of... everything?"
Mr. Wheezy just looked at him with such a blank expression, like he was frozen in time. Dice had on an awkward smile as he waited for him to answer.

"Ooooh! aaaaallright."
He finally replied, looking like he didn't believe Dice aaat all.

"Yeah but I was wondering if I could... get some help- or at least some advice on how this place works?"
Dice asked, trying to seem confident but feeling so much like a stranger.

"Oh you've never worked in a casino before?"

"Uuum no... I've actually never anywhere before..."
Dice admitted, glancing down at the ground.

"Well don't worry buddy."
Mr. Wheezy patted Dice's back, smiling back at him with reassurance.

"I know the ins and outs of this place, so I could totally help you out."

"Really?"
Dice asked ecstatic and starting to feel grateful.

"Yeeaaahh sure, it's really no problem, we gotta look out for each other, don't we?"
Mr. Wheezy rested his hand on Dice's shoulder, surprising Dice slightly with how casual Mr. Wheezy is acting.

"Thanks."
Dice thanked as Mr. Wheezy led him over to the bar first, positioning by the many taps that run the beer.

"Okay, so these taps all have different types of beers."
Mr. Wheezy pointed at all the different taps and Dice listened very carefully.

"So left is like the weakest alcohol- it's not very strong and towards the right it gets tougher in alcohol- much stronger."
Dice listened closely, memorising the order of weakest to strongest. Mr. Wheezy just held back laughter as he had completely lied and it was actually right to left. Mr. Wheezy couldn't help himself but troll a newbie.

"Oh look! here comes your first customer!"
Mr. Wheezy exclaimed as a customer sat down near Dice and began to ask for a drink.

"Can I have just a normal beer please?"
Dice nodded looking back down at the taps and remembering the order and believing he was filling up a jug of average alcohol and handing it to the customer. The customer grabbed the jug and took a sip, quickly spewing it out all over Dice, making him jump back with shock and grief for his new outfit.

"This is super strong! what the fuck!?"
The customer exclaimed pouring the rest of the beer onto Dice and storming off with Mr. Wheezy covering his mouth as he couldn't control himself. Dice looked at him with his eyes narrowed in anger.

"Ooh! you should have seen the look on your face."
Mr. Wheezy laughed, trying to talk in between giggles.

"I'm completely soaked now!"
Dice argued keeping his arms up as beer dripped off him.

"Oh you'll be fine, most people hear smell like beer."

"Not like this though! and you tricked me!"
Dice argued, feeling betrayed.

"It was a joke, I do it on everyone."
Dice just glared at him with little amusement.

"Okay look, look. I'll give you proper advice this time, no messing around."

"Well I think now you owe me actual advice."

"Okay okay, well then follow me."
Mr. Wheezy waved his hand as he walked off and Dice tried to wave off as much beer as he could off as he followed Wheezy behind.

"Ya see that group over there?"
Wheezy pointed over at a table with tons of people towered around it.

"They have been there, causing a lot of trouble for everyone around them and have refused to leave- your job is to try and remove them from the casino or get them to calm themselves at least- think you can do it?"
Dice looked at the group. It was filled with buffed up men who seemed to have already won like 1,000 fights with scars marked all over their bodies. Dice swallowed
hard, gathering up all his courage as he shook himself into manager mode.

"Yes!"

"I'm sorry what was that?"
Wheezy leaned closer, cupping the side of his head where an ear would be.

"Yes I can!"
Dice exclaimed again, getting even more excited and pumped up.

"That's the spirit, now go get 'em."
Wheezy gave Dice a little encouragement push as Dice quickly balanced himself and walked over to the group.

"I'm sorry but you all with have to leave right now!"
Dice shouted his confident rising fast but then quickly descending down to nothing as all the men turned around and faced him.

"What did you say?"
One of the men said, with the most intimidating voice Dice had ever heard.

"Uuum- I mean, could you please keep it down, some people have said you all have been disruptive..."
Dice twiddled with his fingers as all the men looked around to find barely anyone around.

"Who said we were disruptive...?"
The man closest to Dice asked, leaning right into Dice's face.

"Uu-umm well- I can't say- just"-
The man suddenly grabbed onto Dice's bowtie and pulled him up, having his feet dangle a tiny bit above the ground.

"Tell them, the boss don't like no snitches."

"Yep- yep! got it, won't bother you again- sorry..."
Dice was quick to just agree, hoping he would just let him go. Eventually the man did drop Dice and he turned around, about to walk off when.

"Hey! dice boy."
Dice turned back around, his legs slightly trembling. As soon as he turned around another jug of beer was thrown at his face, soaking him even more in beer. He just accepted it, as all the man broke into loud laughter while Dice turned back around and walked back to Wheezy who was also holding back laughter once again.

"Oh I did not expect that."
Wheezy wiped away a tear from all the laughter.

"I can't believe you tricked me again!"

"Hey this ain't no day care."

"So you aren't going to help me??"
Dice asked, clearly frustrated and annoyed.

"No, okay, okay I've had my fun, I will help you now."
Mr. Wheezy admitted, putting a new cigar in his mouth and lighting it up.

Chapter 3: Learning... sorta

Chapter Text

"Buut maybe first lets get ya in somethin' that doesn't smell like beer..."
Wheezy thought to himself as the stench of alcohol choked him.

"Thaank you..."
Dice let out a long sarcastic thanks as he crossed his arms, feeling his flat chest against his arms and feeling a slight bit of euphoria. Wheezy, turned around and was about to walk towards the staff room, when a figure stood in his way.

"Oh, h-hi boss..."
Wheezy let out a nervous welcome. The devil just glared down at him as he glanced over at the soaked Dice, standing behind him like a lost sheep.

"Been teaching our new recruit hey?"
The devil put on a snarky grin as Wheezy just carefully smiled back, walking back to Dice and wrapping an arm over him.

"Yeeaah! just been helping a pal out, you know!"
Wheezy laughed and Dice could tell he was trying way too hard to act calm.

"You better Mr. Wheezy and get him cleaned up, I don't want a stench of beer be the manager of this place."
The devil ordered, disappearing and allowing Wheezy to slouch forwards and groan.

"So ya weren't lyin'..."
Wheezy pulled his arm back, wiping the beer back onto Dice but only getting more of his nice jacket soaked in beer.

"Allright, follow me and ill get ya fixed up."
Dice excited followed Wheezy into a secluded area where there was door with a 'staff only' sign on it. Inside was a long, never ending hallway with multiple doors on either side.

"This is the staff rooms, its where we stay, usually each room has about 3 to 4 people in it. And luckily for you, you have been grouped with me and my bud, Chips."
Wheezy stopped in front of a door, twisting the knob and opening it to expose a dull room with two bunk beds.

"Home sweet home."
Wheezy tried to sound happy but just sounded tired and exhausted. Dice looked around, seeing a small desk with a mirror and another door, possibly leading to a bathroom, Dice assumed.

"Okay, I should have a spare outfit in here somewhere."
Wheezy poked his cigar head into an old draw, pulling out different pairs of pants and shirts. Dice continued to look around as he waited. Spotting a beautiful purple suit, lying on the bottom bunk near the end of the room. Beside it was also a note. It read.

'This will match you more.'

"Oh! i think it's over here."
Dice walked over to the even fancier suit, feeling the soft silk from the sleeves.

"Over where?"-
Wheezy pulled out his head and turned around to see Dice looking at an extravagant purple suit.

"What?- Where did that come from?"
Wheezy asked, scratching his head. Dice just shrugged as he picked up the suit and walked over to the door, opening it and closing it behind him.

'I never got no new outfit when I needed one...'
Wheezy moped as he sat on the bed waiting for Dice to be done. Inside Dice became totally distracted in the mirror, admiring his new body still and seeing his chest without the cringe of it being round. He kept turning around and looking back at different angles and posing in the mirror, occasionally blowing kisses to himself. Wheezy crossed his arms, tapping his finger as he started to grow impatient. Finally, Dice did pop out with now a lavish purple suit with a tail and a darker purple bowtie.

"Thought you'd never- daaamn, that is..."

"I know! it does actually look really nice on me, i must admit."
Dice twirled around, holding the two tails that fell behind him and adjusted his little bowtie in front of him.

"The devil is really lavishing you up..."
Wheezy felt so jealous, no one really got this much of a makeover from the boss, compared to Dice they'd probably look like hill billy's.

"I don't think so. Oh! and i found this too."
Dice then turned around and grabbed a deck of cards. Wheezy looked at it with a raised eyebrow.

"That ain't mine..."

"Could it be your bud, Chip?"

"It's Chips- and no, he's not a deck of cards guy. Well since ya found it, guess it's yours."
Dice looked at the deck of cards in his hands and felt somewhat happy.

"Now c'mon lets go already."
Wheezy swiftly exited the room as Dice followed behind, opening the box up and looking at all the different cards.

"Alright, I'll introduce you to the others as we go. Our main business here is the pokers machines and baccarat games. People get hooked fast on those."
Wheezy pointed to the many tables with people gathered around them, throwing dice and moving around chips. Dice just glanced over a couple times, still meddling with his own cards.

"You have to keep a keen eye on them sometimes though- make sure no one actually wins."

"Yeah yeah, got it."
Dice answered, not even looking up. Wheezy took a deep breath, burning his cigar faster than before.

"Ey. You have to know this stuff to actually run it, ya know."
Wheezy put his hand on Dice's cards, pushing them down so Dice could look up at him.

"Yeah I know, I'm multitasking."

"Sure ye are..."
Wheezy took out his cigar and let out a breath of smoke as he looked around for more advice.

"That over there is Piroulette. She helps with the games, as well as adding a bit of a show for the audience."
Wheezy pointed over to a roulette wheel that was twirling around like a ballerina.

"She can help ya with playing the games and how to always win."

"Oh! hey look what i can do!"
Dice exclaimed showing off a cool trick he was practising, instead of listening. He held the deck in one hand then in one swift motion threw all the cards into his other
hand and repeating the process, making it look like it's not even moving. Wheezy smacked his hand over his head, sliding it down to expose his completely done expression.

"ya know what, ya seem to already know what you're doing so I'll just let you do ya own thing."-

"Wait no! I-I'm all ears... er well um..."
Dice thought of an answer instead of ears since both him and Wheezy didn't actually have ears even though they could just fine. While Dice was thinking of what to say, Wheezy was contemplating whether he should reeeaaally help this guy out and deal with his nuisance or not and probably get whooped by the devil.

Chapter 4: Learning Some More

Chapter Text

"Look, look."
Mr. Wheezy spoke up, putting his hands over Dices and pushing them down so Dice would look up at him.

"I don't know why the devil decided to make you the manager- when you've never even worked at a casino... but this ain't no game."

"Well i know that. I didn't come from some little wonderland."
Dice pulled his hands away, offended someone thought he lived a happy dappy life.

"Then you really have to pay attention or someone will kill you here."
Wheezy pointed out, tapping his finger angrily in the air and staring right down at Dice. Dice thought about his words and then back at his deck. He was right though, he had to act more serious. He wasn't a child no more.

"You're right. I'll pay more attention."
Wheezy stood back up, straightening his back.

"Good. No more acting all innocent. Ye need to look and Be! Tough. Strong an' demanding."

"Got it!"
Dice agreed with a loud shout. Forming his hands into a fist and pulling them up in determination.

"Ya gotta look intimidating."

"Duh."
Dice replied more calmly, placing his fingers into his pants pocket.

"Good, good, but also when you see"-

"Oh! Wheezles!"
A sudden voice shouted from behind Wheezy stunning him as a pair of arms wrapped around his waist.

"Chips... you're getting good at bein' real quiet."
Wheezy twisted his torso around, patting Chips on the head as he smiled back. Dice leant to the side, catching a glimpse of a bunch of chips stacked on top of each other, smiling up at Wheezy.

"Oh you must be Chips!"
Dice spoke up, jumping up a bit. Chips looked over and looked at Dice with a surprised look. Dice faked cough as he went back to acting relaxed.

"I mean- names Dice- King Dice."
Dice said looking away as he rested his shoulders.

"He's what the boss decided to make manager."
Wheezy popped in, as Chips let go of Wheezys waist.

"Oh! Hi!"
Chips welcomed, raising a hand. Dice looked at his hand and looked back at Chips, his eyes not showing any change of expression.

"Hey."
Chips awkwardly putting his hand down, laughing nervously.

"Hehe hii..."
Dice glanced at Chips and saw behind him, Wheezy making some confusing hand movements. Dice squinted his eyes but couldn't make it out. He would cross his arms to make an 'x' then put on an angry expression and then point to Chips. Dice just looked at him with complete loss.

"So are you going to be in charge of everything?"
Chips chimed in, bringing Dices focus back to him.

"Oh! Yeah... i decide what slides and what don'ts."

"What 'don'ts'?"
Chips asked leaning forward.

"Yeah that's what i said."
Dice crossed his eyebrows giving Chips a glare. Making Wheezy slam his hands on his face.

"Dice you can cut the act now."
Wheezy finally interrupted, confusing Chips even more.

"But you told me to be intimidating and tough?"
Dice's expression quickly changed, pulling his hands.

"Yeah i know but..."
Wheezy stood closer to Dice, placing a hand over his shoulder and twisting him around, facing away from Chips.

"Chips is the exception. He is..."

"Exception? What do you mean? You were telling me this was serious and everything??"

"Yeah- i don't know why- but the devil hired him and i couldn't live with myself tryin' to change him."

"But you were fine makin' me act all 'tough' and stuff."

"You're the manager. He's just simple the chip counter/organiser."
Dice crossed his arms as he thought about how sweet Chips did seem.

"Just don't be too hard on him okay? He's like a... - i don't want anythin bad happenin to him, ya know."
Dice turned around and watched Chips lean back and forth, looking at the ground, patiently waiting, turning up to see Dice and smiling back as he waved.

"Yeah i get it."
Wheezy patted Dices shoulder with a small smile on his face.

"Thanks man. But good job on the tough guy look."
Dice smiled as Wheezy turned back around towards Chips with Dice following behind with Wheezy moving quick in front of him.

"Is he teaching you anything?"
A voice asked from behind Dice. Dice twirled around and saw the Devil standing behind him with his arms crossed in disbelief. Dice looked behind him to see Wheezy and Chips chatting and just as he was told he turned back around, putting his hands back in his pocket.

"Yeah. I'll have everything under control soon enough."
Dice said with a tiny smirk, acting all brave while the legit devil just looked at him with impatience. A smile arose on his face.

"Good cause if you don't... you're dead."
Dices eyes suddenly jolted awake as the Devils words pierced through him. He walked closer to Dice, standing right beside him and whispering.

"That's how you sound intimidating."
The Devil then walked off, with Dice turning around nervously laughing off the threat.

"Haha that's a good one boss. Smart..."
Dice watched as he walked off and his heart finally started to slowly down.

"Dice!"
Chips shouted for his attention, waving his hand left to right. Dice walked over to him and Wheezy, letting out a deep breath.

"Did ya want to help count chips with me tomorrow?"
Chips offered, his dimples showing big on his face.

"Oh sure. Sounds good to me."

"That's good to hear!"
Chips jumped up and down.

"Yeah but before anythin' happens, I'm gonna go take a nap."
Wheezy stretched his arms as he walked past Dice with Chips following along.

"Are you able to just take a nap?"

"Yee, i ain't gonna be working forever. I need a break now and then."
Dice followed Chips and Wheezy back to the rooms and saw as Chips and Wheezy all plopped down on their respected beds. With Chips sleeping on the top bunk and Wheezy sleeping on the bottom bunk. Dice sat down on the empty bunk beds, feeling the blankets against his fingers. Dice looked over at Wheezy who was falling deeper into his bed, almost melting into it.

Dice fell back into his own bed, feeling the softness of the pillows surround his cubed head. His eyes drifting shut. And quickly he fell asleep as well.

Chapter 5: Card Tricks

Chapter Text

Dice was so comfortable, he never wanted to wake up. But soon a bright light awoke him immediately. Dice blinked his eyes a couple times, hearing Wheezy also moan as he sat up. Dice opened his eyes to see his boss, the devil, standing the doorway, his hand moving away from the light switch.

"Oh! Boss!"
Wheezy exclaimed, jolting up off the bed with Chips leaning over the bunk to see the Devil. Dice sat up, off the bed as well. Confused as to whether he was in trouble for sleeping.

"I see you're teaching him well huh?"
The Devil raised an eyebrow as Wheezy rubbed the back of his head with a crooked smile.

"Hehe well i was, but i think he- he worked very hard so i thought he could use a"-

"Mr. Wheezy."

"Yep..."
The Devil interrupted immediately shutting him up.

"King Dice is the manager. I decide when his sleeping schedule is and it definitely isn't while the casino is still open."
The Devil looked over at Dice who was gritting his teeth with an awkward smile as he watched Wheezy get scolded because of him.

"Dice follow me. You two can continue your break."

"You got it... Boss..."
Wheezy agreed as Dice curved around his bed and walked past Wheezy and Chips and towards the boss. The Devil opened the door and left with Dice following behind, looking back at Wheezy one last time before leaving. Wheezy let out a big sigh, resting his hands on his knees.

"Boy, thought i was dead for a second...."
Wheezy stood back up, brushing off the last minute and fell right back into bed.

"I really need a nap now."
Chips followed suit and plopped back down into his sheets and both fell asleep super quickly. All that while Dice awkwardly followed the Devil back outside.
Hesitating what to say.

"Sorry... er um i didn't know the casino actually... closed..."

"Didn't know? Well it does. We aren't a 24 hour take away shop, now are we."
The Devil let out a small chuckle as Dice giggled back, relaxing his shoulders a little bit.

"We close at exactly 1am and open back up at 9am don't want no early birds in my casino."
The Devil raised one of his pointy fingers in the air, stopping abruptly with Dice listening intently.

"But while the casino IS open. You have to run it. Manage it. And make sure everything is running smoothly."

"Got it, Boss."
Dice accepted with The Devil smiling with delight. He patted Dices shoulder, an arm still behind his back.

"Now try not to make anymore messes. I have alot of work to do."

"You got it boss, I'll make sure everything is..."
And before Dice even finished, he was gone. Dice paused for a moment, looking around with curiosity and confusion. He was still new to everything and didn't know
what to do first.

"Oh you must be the new manager!"
Dice turns around and looks where he heard the voice but couldn't see anyone. He looked left and right but still everyone seemed to be minding their own business.

"Down here."
The voice spoke up making Dice look down at a nearby table and see three drinks, one with a beard, looking back at him.

"Oh!"
Dice leaned forward, looking closer at the little bottles.

"I didn't see you down there!"

"Yee of course you didn't! All you tall folk never see us little guys!"
The scotch glass with the long moustache shouted.

"Now calm down! He is new!"
Dice looked at the talking martini glass in surprise. Dice wasn't use to people calling him he. His heart suddenly felt so bubbly and joyful and the bottles seemed to notice as they all looked back at him with confusion.

"Are you okay Dice head?"
Another bottle questioned, snapping Dice out of his admiration.

"Oh! Yes yes, sorry heh just... nothing."
Dice stood back up, rubbing his neck awkwardly. The bottles all looked at each other then back at Dice.

"Okay, well since you're new, we thought we could help you out!"
The cheerful martini glass exclaimed, smiling with joy as the whiskey bottle scoffed.

"More like only you thought about it..."
He crossed his arms angrily.

"Well if you come up with better ideas then it'd be a 'we'!"
The martini glass huffed, pouting away from the whiskey bottle.

"Well you never listen to anythin i say!"
The whiskey argued back.

"You are always comin up with stupid ideas that's why!"

"Ey! Ey! Stop yellin both of yee's!"
The scotch glass got involved starting a whole argument between all of them. Suddenly Dice felt like he was about to be involved in something he shouldn't  as the bottles began to argue. Dice slowly backed away, out of earshot and sat down by the bar, back to being by himself and with a deck of cards.
Dice pulled out the deck and took the cards out, flipping through them and moving the cards from one hand to the other. Dice started practising some cool card tricks he had seen over at his old city.

"Hey those are some pretty nice card tricks..."
A voice murmured beside him. Out slowly crawled a rabbit from behind the counter. They had a grim smile on their face and seemed super sketchy to Dice but he stayed nice.

"Oh, thanks."

"Where did you learn those tricks?"
The rabbit leaned closer, reaching over the counter to grab more of Dices attention.

"Just... um from watchin other people do it. They always made it look easier though."
Dice leaned back, making a bit of distance as he fumbled with the cards, quickly dropping a few and catching some others with his elbow. The rabbit just watched intrigued, still with that smile.

"Show me a magic trick."
The rabbit demanded with intense interest. The Dice looked at his cards and tried to think of any easy trick he could do. He piled all his cards into his hand and faced the rabbit, them pulling one hand back as he grabbed the cards and dropped it halfway so that it was all fall back into other hand. The rabbit looked uninterested so Dice tried to think of another trick.

"Uum... pick a card."
Dice gestured over to his cards that he had spread out across both of hands. The rabbit leaned forward and looked at the cards like it was a bunch of different platters to choose from. The rabbit twiddled their fingers as their eyes wondered over the cards. The rabbit gestured to a card, pulling it out and looking at the card.

"Okaay... and I'm pretty sure you keep it?"-
As Dice was guessing how to do this trick the Rabbit just shoved their card back into his pile without any words.

"Okay- that actually makes sense nevermind..."
Dice then shuffles the deck, a bit too many times as the Rabbit watches him closely. He taps the bottom on his palm, leveling out the deck. Then in a swift motion, he takes a hint of confidence, closes his eyes and pulls out a card, showing it the Rabbit and asking.

"Is this your card?"
Dice waits for their reply but is surprised when an unknown voice replies.

"Wooah how did you know?!"
Dice opens his eyes and sees a large man standing across from him, clapping his hands together. Dice looks all around but can't spot that Rabbit he was just talking to. But before Dice could ask anything, the man suddenly speaks up again.

"Hey! Carl! Come look at this!"
Dice looks towards the man is gesturing at and sees a group of people coming his way. Suddenly he felt like he wasn't really good at cards tricks and suddenly that wave of confidence was leaving his body.

"Do it again- he guessed my card!"
The judge spoke up again, intriguing the group of men that were looking at Dice as if he was going to be their next meal.

"Y-yeeaaah... hehe, I'm not that great at cards though.."
Dice melted in himself, his cubed head sinking down with embarrassment.

"Oh don't kid yourself!"
The man slapped Dice on the back hard. But in a very sort of supportive father-ly way, which made Dice suddenly gain his confidence back.

"Show em how you did it!"
Dice shuffled his cards again and added a little pizazz, looking at the men with mystery. He then did as he did before- now knowing he takes the card back and again guessed correctly what the other men's card was. As the men roared louder with astonishment, more and more people gathered around to see Dices card tricks. Which shocked him a lot as he still was new at it but somehow, every time he moved the cards it felt like they were moving on their own.

Chapter 6: Magic

Chapter Text

Dice continued to surprise the crowd, trying new tricks on the spot as sudden energy and power soared through him. Dice suddenly saw a nearby guy sitting nearby, looking down to Dice.

Dice thought a good way to cheer him up was to do another card trick. So he walks up to the guy, grabbing his attention, making him push his head to the side, towards Dice with a dizzy expression on his face.

"Hello sir!"
Dice greeted with the crowd watching him with curiosity. The man didn't reply, only staring back with confusion.

"There seems to be something behind your ear- eer- head..."
Dice replaced, noticing this dude- also lacked ears. The guy blankly turned his head to the side again, trying to see what Dice was talking about but of course he couldn't see the back of his head.

"Here let me get it for you."
dice continued, reaching his hand out and grabbing an ace card from behind the mans head. The crowd roared in amazement as Dice turned around to bow to the crowd but the man was now frustrated and annoyed. Drunkenly he stood up, growly a lowly growl, catching Dices attention. Dice turned around to see this now fuming man stand up and tower over Dice, smashing his glass, exposing the sharp fragments of glass left on.

"Who do you think you are... making fun of me."
His voice was calm but at the same time boiling. Dice took a step back, unprepared for this kind of situation, sweat- if he could sweat theoretically dripping down his face. Dice looked around for an exit but the crowd was now surrounding him and the man, watching them both with new interest- a fight.

"Oh srry sir- I didn't mean to make fun of you- its just a little card"-

"I don't care bout no card trick!"
The man interrupted, spit projecting out of his mouth every time he opened it. Dice suddenly knew there was no talking with this guy. he knew he had to prepare himself for a fight now. Just like old times, he stood his ground and thought of a plan.

"No one makes fun of me and is able to walk away from it."
He exposes all his crooked teeth, that never seem to have touched a toothbrush as he stepped closer to Dice. Dice stayed calm. Dice looked around and took notice of his standing beside the bar counter, next to a small stall, and surrounded by multiple people, as well as the deck of cards he was holding, in his hands.

As Dice was looking around, the drunk guy must have noticed he was looking for a weapon for, as soon as Dice turned back to him, all he could see was a fist coming closer and closer to his face. Flight or fight instincts kicking in, he moved his body backwards feeling his hands move up to defend his face, closing his eyes, and bracing for impact. But suddenly Dice heard the man screech out in shock.

"How tha fuck did you do that?"
He shouted, making Dice open his eyes and look back at the man who was leaning against the bar counter with multiple of his cards all over the floor. Dice was confused as the crowd cheered and screamed.

"Woooaah, those cards seemed to move on their own!?"
A voice shouted, helping Dice realise that maybe he wasn't really in control of his cards. He looked down at the cards, feeling his hand reach out for them as a green glow surrounded it, picking up and pulling it back into Dices hands. Dice couldn't believe it. He never really knew powers like this existed. The man was furious now, standing back up and storming towards Dice. But Dice was ready.

Dice shuffled his cards, spreading them in front of him and holding them in the air, stopping the man in the spot for one second. Right as Dice with one swift motion, darted the cards straight towards the man, pushing him back onto a nearby table and pinning him to it with the edges of the cards stuck in the fabric of his clothes. The crowd laughed and cheered for Dice as he stood proud and did an extravagant bow.

"Hey!"
A different voice shouted from behind Dice, standing behind him, helping the man up was three other men, looking at Dice with rage. Dice just smiled and tossed his deck around, excited for another round.

"Bring it on."
Dice whispered, as the men all chased towards him. As they closer and closer, Dice just stood waiting for just the right moment. And then BAM! in a flash, Dice had karate kicked one of the men in the face, completely bending his leg straight up to sucker punch him right in the jaw. The man fell backwards, down to the ground as the others still pressed on. Dice dodged one of the men's punches and as he was below punching level, he grabbed the dudes leg, pushing him off balance and projecting him towards his friend, forcing them both to the ground. Dice stood back up, wiping his hands clean as the men layed on the ground- defeated.

"I have plenty of other tricks up my sleeve, if you want to try anything again."
Dice threatened, looking down at the men with power, leaving the crowd to cheer even more. Dice never felt so much power and strength before. The cheering and praise was definitely new too and it made him feel... invincible.

"What the hell is going on?!"
A familiar voice shouted, Dice looked over and saw Mr. Wheezy, looking shocked, worried but most importantly confused. Dice smiled and waved, acting like nothing was wrong at all.

"Oh! Hi Wheezy!"
Dice cheered- quickly changing his expression as he waved merrily at Wheezy who just slouched his shoulders and took a sigh as he walked closer to Dice.

"Did you do all this?"

"Yes I guess- I just felt this sudden power, and oh!"
Dice pulled out his cards again, excited to show Wheezy his new power.

"I can control the cards- look!"
Dice started to move the cards around, letting them walk around like little people, Wheezy though just looked back up at him with disinterest.

"Yeah, yeah that's nice, come on lets get away from this crowd."
Wheezy suggested, gesturing Dice away, placing his hand on Dice's back.

"All of us got powers you know... though I don't know why you can only control cards?"
Wheezy stated, pulling out a cigarette, mumbling the end bit, knowing how everyone else has more powerful tricks rather than a deck of cards. Dice looked up at him surprised, still continuing to walk beside him.

"Wait- really??"

"Yeeah, that was apart of the deal with the devil. Ya did read the whole thing right?"
Dice glanced away, putting his cards back as he readjusted his collar.

"Yeeeaaah- of course."
Dice lied, looking all over the ground. Wheezy just sighed, as he pulled out his burning cigar.

"Well whatever- it seem that the boss wants to talk with you- just so you know."

"He does? What for?"
Dice tilted his head, raising an eyebrow.

"I don't know, I tend not to question that man- he IS the devil after all."

"You're right."
Dice agreed, remembering how the devil had acted towards him. For the short time they had talked- he never felt terrified around him, he seemed somewhat... comforting to Dice.

"Well thanks anyways Wheezy- you really have helped me a lot today."
Dice thanked, turning to Wheezy with a big smile.

"Naaah don't mention it."
Wheezy brushed off, not really thinking he did much to help Dice on his first day here.

"But I gotta work now- and so do you, so no more... fighting customers- or do, I shouldn't care."
Wheezy finally stopped, looking at Dice as he just smiled and waved to Wheezy who eventually walked off to what he got to do and Dice stood there once again, wondering what he should do. Maybe he should talk with the Devil early- it'll just eat up his mind anyways.

Chapter 7: The Talk

Chapter Text

Dice looked around- seeing the whole casino at ease. It was getting close to supposedly when they close, so it made sense.
Dice quickly inched out of view of everyone and creaked through the hallway leading to the Devils office. He could feel his heart slightly beat faster with every step he took closer towards it. Like he was about to walk into doom. Dice approached the door and shakily reached out- knocking carefully on the door.

"Come in..."
A loud growling noise erupted from inside the room. Dice creaked the door slightly open, peaking his head through and seeing the Devil slouching in his desk, apparently signing papers

"I knew you'd be too impatient for tomorrow morning."
The Devil stood up from his desk, his chair creaking loudly behind him.

"How do you know I'm not here for another reason?"
Dice questioned, laying one hand on his hip. The Devil looked up with disbelief.

"Well are you?"
Dice was quiet for a moment- he really wasn't but he didn't want to prove the Devil right.

"Well no- but doesn't I won't be- every time I come here."
Dice pointed out, raising a finger, and also his point as the Devil just listened closely.

"But well what did you want to speak to me about?"
Dice continued, feeling the silence grow too loud.

"Just wanted to make sure everything was going alright- haven't fucked anything up yet?"
The Devil cupped a hand on his hip as well, placing the other hand on his desk as well.

"Um well I think alright- I still don't really know what I'm doing?"
Dice admitted, hoping the Devil would finally realise he ain't the man for the job. He just lowered his head, as if he's contemplating something. Before finally curving around his desk and appearing closer to Dice.

"You won't know everything in just one day- you have to gain experience."
The Devil walked closer towards Dice, raising his hand with a smirk on his face.

"Yeah but I have no idea how to"-

"Are you questioning my decisions?"
The Devil interrupted, raising a finger in front of Dices face. flustering him a bit at how close he is.

"W-well... yes sir- what do you even see in me?"
The Devil removed his finger, seeming calm and collected as he rested his hands by his hips.

"Do you always question your own abilities?"
The Devil questioned with Dice taken aback.

"Um well... I just think I know where I lie in skills sir."

"More than the Devil?"
The Devil snickered, looking back at Dice with calm yet piercing eyes.

"Yes."
Dice answered confidently, even sharpening his posture. The Devil just chuckled.

"That's why I chose you."
Dice blinked a moment as he watched the Devil walk back towards his desk.

"Excuse me?"

"You aren't afraid to say what you think, when you believe you're right. Not even scared of the Devil. I can sense it, you're not scared of me at all."
The Devil smiled at Dice, amused at his easiness around him.

"Well sir you don't exactly look that scary really. And really I've met worse people honestly."
Dice answered honestly, seemingly annoying The Devil slightly.

"I can be scary when I want to be."
The Devil quickly clarified, stretching his arms onto his desk.

"Everyone here always has some sort of sense of nervousness... or fear, around me, but you..."
The Devil scratched his desk lightly with his sharp nails.

"You are different and I'm sure you know that already."
The Devil looked back at Dice who knew what he meant.

"Yes... I mean how can I forget... wait- is that why you hired me sir?"
The Devil sat back in his desk, wrapping his fingers around each other to appear more relaxed but also in power.

"There's many reasons why. That you mortals won't be able to understand."
Devil simply answered, his expression not changing at all.

"I understand sir, but... it seems there are some things you don't understand either."

"Oh? Like what?"
The Devil queried, an eyebrow raised with intrigue.

"I don't know what's it like in... hell? but humans... or well mortals need training and at least some guidance to successfully do things- I want you to teach me. You obviously know how to run a business too."
Dice kept his posture proper as he continued, with The Devil smirking, amazed by his confidence.

"I'm quite busy with running this business- is your co-workers not as helpful as they're suppose to be?"

"No, no! it's just they seem quite busy with their own positions... I guess I kind of forgot you also do some work here as well as you're always inside your office."
The Devil was silent for a moment, leaving Dice to wonder what he's thinking.

"Sure then, we'll see how you go. One week. that's it and if you aren't fit... oh well for you."
The Devil agreed, with Dice rising up in surprise and gratitude.

"Really? thank you- I appreciate it very much sir."
Dice thanked, taking a small bow as he cupped his hands together.

"Don't worry- you'll owe me back at some point."
Dice lifted his head, staring back at the chillaxed Devil.

"With what?"

"You'll see... now you need to rest. You have a big day tomorrow."
The Devil smiled back at Dice, who instinctively smiled back.

"Thank you sir, I'll see you- wait!"
Dice was about to turn around when suddenly another question popped into his head. The Devil raised an ear waiting for Dice to continue.

"Yes?"

"You gave me powers right?"
The Devil looked at this man, trying to keep a serious face.

"Did you think id only give you a dice head? I'm the Devil- I can do whatever I want."
The Devil chuckled to Dice hiilaarious question.

"That makes a lot of sense then actually- okay goodbye!"
The Devil chuckled as Dice laughed as well, turning around and heading on out.

"Sleep tight, Dice."
The Devil, eyes were directed towards one small area, Dice. Smiling in delight.

"Goodnight sir."
Dice, not thinking too much into it just waved back at The Devil before he completely closed the door. Turning around to find Chip and Wheezy standing there shocked and petrified.

Chapter 8: First Lesson

Chapter Text

"Oh! Hey guys."
Dice calmly waved as well, walking up to them.

"You're... fine???"
Wheezy exclaimed, looking all around Dice but seeing nothing wrong.

"Haha very funny... this joke is getting a little old."
Dice brushed his suit off, also brushing off Wheezy too. Wheezy sighed, turning to Chips.

"I'll talk to Dice for a bit, we'll meet you back at the room."
Chips just agreed and waved Dice a goodbye before heading off.

"Wheezy i think you're worrying a bit too much"-

"Dice? He is the LITERAL devil."

"And? Seems he is also a somewhat decent boss."
Dice walked off, heading back to the dorms.

"Look i know you're a newbie here but just listen for a sec."
Wheezy stepped in front of Dice, stopping him as Wheezy had his hands raised.

"Do. Not. Take. Him. For granted. He doesn't give a... damn, about people- especially his workers."
Wheezy stared directly into Dice's eyes hoping to get his point across. But Dice just stared blankly back.

"Pssh, you can't prank me anymore Wheezy, I'm not going to fall for it. He is even doing 1 on 1 lessons with me."
Dice walked past Wheezy, prancing almost as he turned around smugly, bringing up how the supposed mean devil is going to help him even. Which just left Wheezy absolutely flabbergasted.

"So anyways..."
Dice stretched his arms, letting out a long yawn.

"It's getting late and I'm going to bed."
Dice walked off with Wheezy watching him walk off, lost in what to say.

"Just don't say i didn't warn you!"
Wheezy yelled back before slumping his shoulders and sighing as he followed Dice back to their rooms.
The next morning Dice got ready for the day, a bit more hopeful than before. Opening the bedroom door and walking out, seeing the main area and seeing the Devil already waiting for him, taking a drink from the bar. Dice walked up towards the Devil, sitting beside him.

"Do devils ever sleep?"
Dice turned to the Devil, seeing a chuckle come out of him as he lowered his drink.

"Well now you're here, we can start."
The Devil stood up with Dice doing the same.

"What are we going to do first? Shuffling cards? Making beers?"-

"Cleaning."
Dices shoulders dropped along with his jaw. Suddenly catching a mop that the Devil tossed over to him.

"Cleaning?? What about all the important stuff? Like-like... being manager?"
The Devil rested his hands on his hips, his tail brushing against the floors behind him.

"We'll get to that. Now c'mon."
Dice groaned but followed him towards the bathroom, passing by Wheezy who had woken up, also getting ready for work. Wheezy saw the mop and chuckled softly. Dice just blew raspberries at him before disappearing in the bathroom. Inside the bathroom was just... horrendous. The floors were like a puke green colour while the wallpaper was peeling back and the doors to the stalls were either totally broken or not even on its hinges.

"Your job right now is to clean this."
Dice couldn't help but express his disgust out loud, avoiding to touch any of the mess on the ground.

"All of this? I'd need way more than a mop?"
The Devil floated in the air, resting as if he was sitting on a chair on the beach. His leg bent over the other and his hand under his head.

"Well the rest of the cleaning supplies are in the closet beside the bathroom, it's hard to miss."
The Devil pointed, not really helping much though. Dice just groaned leaving the bathroom and looking for the closet. Opening it up and seeing the most miserable cleaning supplies he has ever saw. He's seen better brooms and buckets in drug filled alleyways. But still he grabbed them and walked back in.

"You really need better cleaning equipment."
Dice criticized as he rolled up his sleeves.

"They've lasted 100 years, they're fine, they still work."
Dice crossed his arms watching The Devil try and remove something from his teeth.

"I think a 100 years too long. These things are totally useless."
Dice raised the broom that was missing a lot of pieces so all the rubbish would just move past the broom.

"I use it, it's fine."
Dice grumbled his words. Walking up to the Devil and grabbing his tail, pulling him down from his little cloud and down to Dice. Catching him off guard for a moment.

"Look, you may have done things differently but if I'm going to be working, I'm working my way. Which means i aint using these. So either you get new equipment or this bathroom will stay rotten."
Dice huffed as the Devil looked back dumbfounded.

"You're really are something..."
The Devil chuckled, leaving King Dice confused and furious.

"Hey I'm being serious"-
The Devil quickly towered over King Dice, his eyes wide, staring deep, deep into King Dices soul.

"I'm the DEVIL, the thing everyone uses to describe evil- you really want to be telling me what to do?"
King Dice caught his breath, letting out a sigh as he just crossed his arms, not at all intimidated.

"I don't care what you are, do you want me to properly clean this bathroom or not?"
The Devil, still levitating just looked back speechless, slapping his face before brushing the anger and confusion off him.

"Fiiine..."
He disappeared, coming back with new equipment for King Dice. Making King Dices eyes light up in surprise. Thinking the Devil just ditched him.

"Thank you! See now that wasn't so hard now was it?"
King Dice started to fill his new bucket as the Devil just stooped back to ground level, leaning against a wall as he mumbled his words. Crossing his arms in
dissatisfaction.

"Just let me know when you finish the damn bathroom... and then we can move on."
The Devil quickly left, his hand waving softly behind him as he shut the bathroom doors, leaving King Dice to get to business.
The Devil pushed himself towards his office, passing Wheezy who quickly stood up straight and greeted him cheerily. With the Devil just scoffing at him and disappearing into his room. Leaving Wheezy to wonder what exactly Dice said to him.

Chapter 9: Uncomfortable

Chapter Text

King Dice rolled up his sleeves and worked on the bathroom, whistling and humming to the beat of the mop brushing against the ground.

Quickly seeing the bathroom now sparkle and look way cleaner compared to before. Going to wipe his forehead when he felt his blocky face hit the back of his head. Quickly realising his deal as he looked into the mirror and saw the cubed face that stood on top of the body he now inhabited. Dice felt sorrowful for a moment but that slowly vanished as his eyes gazed upon the body below. Then a feeling a comfort and relief came back.

Dice finally snapped back into reality, placing the mop aside and facing to head out of the bathroom. Seeing Mr. Wheezy stand near the entrance, looking at him with a obvious curious look on his face.

"Oh you can laugh all you like but I'm honestly proud of myself."
Dice showed how clean the bathroom was, even letting Wheezy walk closer inside to see his work. Brushing a finger against the wall and seeing the little amount of dirt on his finger.

"You continue to amaze me."
Wheezy chuckled as he placed his hands back into his pockets. Dice stretched his arms as he chuckled as well.

"Yeah, i use to hear that a lot."
Dice looked away almost reminiscing about something. A small frown appearing on his face that Wheezy could only see for a second before Dice turned away and readied himself to leave.

"Anyways... i got a whole lot more to learn so..."
Dice went to step out but Wheezy quickly grabbed his attention.

"Hey, just wait..."
Dice stopped and looked back.

"Just be careful okay? I know I've said that a lot but... I mean it."
Dice just half smiled, feeling a sense of Deja vu hearing that.

"Alright... i will."
With that Dice left the bathroom, heading towards the devils office. Suddenly feeling a sense of tightness in his chest as he saw all the customer around him, enjoying their time.

Seeing all the different types of characters and among one group someone looked very familiar. Causing Dice to stop in his tracks as he looked more intently towards this persons direction. Then his heart just stops, the reason he recognised the person was no mistake. Just a few feet away was the leader of a well known mafia gang that ruled over his old neighbourhood. The same person who tried to end Dices very own life. He had short combed back grey hair. A black business suit expressing his fit body physique with multiple golden rings wrapped around his fingers. As well as a lit cigarette hanging out of his mouth as he puffed out clouds of smoke.

Dice froze in place, his body suddenly going stiff as his fists tightened to control his nerves. Someone smacked against Dices shoulder, snapping him out as they argued about him being in the way. Afraid to cause a scene, Dice stumbled back, now speeding towards the Devils office. Gripping harshly onto the door knob and slamming the door behind him. His back now against the door and his face whiter than the colour of snow. Although his face was already white so it was hard for the devil to notice. But his heavy breathing and the expression of someone who'd seen a murder happen helped clue him in.

"What scared you shitless?"
The devil bursted out laughing as Dice tried to control his breathing. Hesitating before deciding to just brush it off and hopefully forget it.

"It's nothing... haha very funny..."
Dice fixed up his sleeves and straightened his shirt while the devil finally stopped laughing. Recognising Dices no longer snarky attitude. But before he could say
anything the door behind Dice suddenly rattling as someone started to turn the knob. Dices heartbeat ran fast ad the door swung open and the same mafia leader
towered over him. His eyes glancing down at Dices wide and slightly terrified eyes. But quickly he moved his focus back to the devil. Letting Dice step a distance from him.

"This is for staff only."
The devil declared clearly, seeing Dices suddenly uncomfortable expression and sensing something off.

"So sorry to disturb you, Mr Devil... we just hoped you could spare a moment..."
His cloudy blue eyes, matching up to those of the devil as he raised a brow.

"For what?"
He reached for something inside his jacket pocket, pulling out a piece of paper and handing it to one of the other men that surrounded him. Who walked closer to the devils desk and placed the paper down onto his desk. On the paper was an image of someone familiar to him. The image included someone who wasn't looking
towards the camera, seemingly unaware that the photo was being taken of them.

The person had black hair and wore what seemed to be a plain grey hoodie, covering most of their body. This was the photo of King Dices previous body. Before he made the deal with the devil. The devil stayed calm as he went on.

"We are looking for the... person in that photo for the murder of one of our men."
The man scrunched his face as he said 'person' as if being forced to call them that. The devil looked back up at him, then glancing over and seeing Dice stand quietly a bit to the left. His eyes darted to the ground.

"We thought maybe you may have seen her amongst your customers?"
The devil rested back into his chair and his twisted his fingers together.

"I have not... is that all you need?"
The man turned to one of the other men, mumbling something incoherent before turning back to him.

"No that is it, thanks for your time..."
And with that the men turned around, taking one more glance at King Dice before opening the door behind them and disappearing. Once the door was shut, King Dice let out a soft breath, only then realising he was holding it in. Hesitantly Dice looked back over at the devil who stared down at the photo in front of him.

"You continue to surprise me."
He snickered as he scrunched up the photo and threw it into his bin. Before standing up and looking over at King Dice. Dice sighed, hopelessly.

"Well time for your next lesson."
Causing a brow raise as the Devil stretched his limbs.
