Chapter 1: The Other Side of the Mirror
Chapter Text
Every so often on the street, on the T.V, or even on the internet you'll see someone who looks like you or sounds like you; but someone who you know is not you. Then there's when you look in the mirror. The mirror shows you as you are just flipped. The mirror doesn't lie to you, but sometimes the mirror doesn't end at just being your immediate reflection and instead the image of a you that isn't you. A you that while being everything you are, is also a few of the things you're not. You're a blonde and they're a brunette. You're a man and they're a woman. You're alive and they're somehow dead.
Looking at the ornate wall mirror in front of her Olivia stared curiously at her what should have been her reflection but instead showed a girl that looked like her and moved like her, but different in a few ways. While her own eyes where both bright red and she had long red hair worn down this other girl had red and yellow hetero-chromatic eyes, stitch-work across her face, and her long red hair was in a twin bun hairdo with white streaks going through it. Normal mirrors tended not to do this but seeing as her sempai Amelia had gifted her this one it may have been a trick mirror or something as a prank.
Locking eyes with each other they tilted their heads watching as the other's moved in the same direction. The same thing repeated as they both raised a hand and lowered it, moved their heads in the other direction, even as they both did a spin. The repetition didn't break until the girl on the other side of the mirror from Olivia smiled and then screamed in excitement as she spun around in her version of the room they were currently in. Clutching her ears at the loud sound Olivia winced a bit as she saw her other self laughing while dancing around her room. Finally noticing the other Olivia's discomfort the other girl ran up to the mirror and quickly began to apologize for the shock and noise.
“HI! I mean Hi! Sorry I guess this must be coming as a big shock to you! I'm Ollie! You're Olivia right?” the reflection introduced herself. “Sorry Amelia did explain about the mirror didn't she?”
“Y..yyes I am. How did you know my name? Why do you look like me?” Olivia replied in a quiet voice still being a bit confused at the entire situation. Lately weird things had just been happening to her. First there was the incident a little over a week ago where she had been somehow drifted through to a different dimension and then other goings on with objects around her apartment being switched with the same item but with a slight change to them before going back to normal the next day.
“Wait I know you. We switched places that day didn't we? I met your...... Zomrades and Zomily is that right?” Olivia questioned Ollie starting to recall the incident.
“Yup that's exactly what happened!” Ollie replied with a laugh “I ended up meeting your Olivians that day. They were so sweet and wholesome.”
“They were? That's such a relief. They told me so much about your time with them and how excited you got to see them! Your Zomrades were....nice, just very high energy hahah..” Olivia replied trailing off remembering the flat comments.
“They called you flat didn't they?” Ollie said in the driest tone she could. Looking over to the side of the mirror she shouted “UDIN! Discipline time! Go deal with that for me!”
“Udin? You have an Udin too?” Olivia said perking up at the name of her favorite stuffed toy.
“Yeah! Udin's my best friend and he's so helpful... WAIT YOU HAVE ONE TOO!!!!?” she said excitedly as she jumped back into view “Lemme see him please?!”
“Yeah sure let me get him... wait did you say yours is helpful? As in he moves? On his own?” Olivia began to ramble off excited at the prospect of an alternate version of her favorite toy being able to move around.
“He sure does lemme go get him. Udin! Come here! Yes now! You aren't too busy to come here for a second!” Olivia could hear Ollie saying off to the side of the mirror they were talking through.
To say she was ecstatic about the possibility of seeing a version of Udin that was some form of magic was a gross understatement. She quickly looked around her room to see her version of Udin sitting on her bed up against the headboard. Her version was a light blue bear with a frilly pink ribbon with black lace edging on it's head with black stitching for a mouth and black stitched X's for eyes. Picking him up from his seat she brought him and a desk chair she had from before getting her stream chair over to the mirror clutching her Udin to her chest.
The commotion on the other side continued for a bit before Ollie returned with her Udin who seemed to be trying to wriggle around in her arms. As Ollie came back to sit on her side of the mirror she plopped Udin on her lap in order to make him look forward and be visible to Olivia on the other side.
“So yeah this is my Udin! Say hi and be nice to her Udin!” Ollie said as she held up the bear.
Olivia noticed the bear she held up was a bit like herself and somewhat patchwork with a large stitch across the face and a few others on the arms and legs. As she looked over the bear she saw he was mix of blue and purple fabric with a combination of black and white stitching for the mouth and eyes. With a giggle as her eyes reached the top of his head she noticed that the ribbons they wore wear inverted with Ollie's having a black ribbon with pink frills. Despite his different appearance to her own there was only one thought Olivia was able to verbalize.
“Oh-my-gosh-he's-so-cute-I-love-him-so-much!! AAAHHHHHHH!” how she managed to get that out in one breath would remain a mystery to her but that didn't matter to her right now. At this point all she saw was a a teddy bear waving a little paw in her direction with what she could only assume was a smile on his face as the stitching angled upwards at the ends.
“Oh wait where are my manners?! Here's my Udin” as she held up her by far less animated bear. A delighted shriek from Ollie confirmed that she how she felt about her bear. Looking around her version of Udin she saw the other bear look at hers curiously since he hadn't been able to trade places with himself like his owner had. Suddenly being lowered back into Ollie's lap he wriggled a bit to bunch part of the dress into a cushion for himself and then resigned himself to his current task of being a lap ornament.
“Hey quit it you! There's only so much of this dress left!” Ollie fussed at Udin to settle down “Now that we've covered those few things I wanted to say it's good to finally meet you somewhat face to face. My Zomrades told me you were sweet, cute, and had such a good singing voice so I had to see you, well me or would it be us I don't even know at this point, for myself” she said smiling as she gave the compliments as easy as breathing.
“Yeah it's good to finally meet you too! I don't know if this would be too self-centered to say but you're very pretty. Like really pretty. I wish I was able to do my hair like that and I really love your eyes. They're pretty like gems.” Olivia gushed as she took the time to finally really look over her counterpart. She noticed that they were both wearing the same dress though Ollie's was a bit more revealing in the places where it was torn showing off her legs. The one thing she really enjoyed about the outfit was the fact that they both were wearing the same dark red ribbon on the bust of their dresses.
“You flirt I can say the same about you! The Zomrades said you were a doll, but damn I didn't think they meant literally!” Ollie said giving Olivia a once over and making the poor girl blush. “I mean look at you such a cutie but it's us so that goes without saying of course!” she said confidently.
“So I bet you're having a few questions about how this is all happening right?” Ollie asked offering a much welcomed change of subject for Olivia.
“There are definitely a few questions I have about how this is all happening for one” she replied with a bit of hesitation unsure if this would be a one time conversation or if she'd be able to see herself like this again.
“Oh for sure! I was a bit confused to about that when we first switched but Ame explained it after she got us switched back. Apparently she was running some timeline experiments she wrote it down for me somewhere..... where is it AH! Here we go.. uhm ISO-987k she said. Something about going to a point in the past and changing something small or something, but apparently when she did she accidentally swapped us.” Ollie explained. “That ended up connecting our dimensions together somehow. Like she explained this but I'm good at maths not metaphysics!”
“Ahh I think I understand it some? I'm sorry maths aren't a strong subject for me. I know more about history than anything haha....” Olivia trailed off hoping Ollie wouldn't judge her for her lack of knowledge of maths.
“I get it! Math is my one strong-suit academically so you've got me beat in that area!” Ollie replied with a big smile on her face. “But yeah Ame is wicked smart in that field then again she is a time traveler so she'd have to right?!”
Glad that they both had a sempai in common between their realities Olivia became more relaxed knowing there was even more common ground for them.
“But yeah after she fixed things I begged her to make these mirrors for us so we could talk! She said she'd explain it before she gave it to you though.” Ollie stated embarrassed at the first impression she'd left a dark rose color tinting her cheeks as she remembered nearly scaring herself to death.
“It's okay just takes a bit of getting used to, I can bet this took a lot of work to put together.” Olivia stated looking over the mirror and seeing what looked like a series of numbers and shapes etched into the frame along with markings that appeared to denote time.
“Yeah well she did owe us one for getting us roped in that experiment so I think this is a suitable 'I'm sorry' present! Besides now we'll get to talk like this whenever we want and spend time getting to know, well ourselves. That is if you want to talk with me again..” Ollie trailed off meekly unsure of the answer but hoping for a yes.
“I'd love to talk to you again if you'll have me that is.” Oliva stated as she stood up offering her hand for a handshake before realizing that probably wouldn't work.
Giggling at the offer Ollie stood and stepped up to her own mirror and placed her hand on the glass with Olivia returning the gesture laying her hand on the other side overlapping Ollie's “I'd be glad to spend time with you again. There's no telling what we could teach the other.” she replied. “Now if you'll excuse me while I do want to keep talking with you I have a few things to take care of on this side. It's getting a bit close to stream time here! Can't have my Zomrades waiting for too long.”
Looking at her clock Olivia realized that she was also drawing close to that time on her side as well.
“Same here I've got about 15 minutes before I go live.” She responded. “Talk to you sometime soon I hope?”
“How's tomorrow sound?” Ollie replied “That's going to be a free day for me so I'll have more than enough time!”
Understanding that time was synced for them as well since the next day was also going to be a free day for her Olivia smile and replied “Sure I'd love too!”
“Well I'll be signing off then! Otsucrazy!!! Bye byeeeeee!” Ollie said as the mirror went dull before going back to showing Olivia's true reflection once again.
Feeling ecstatic that this wasn't a one-time deal and that she'd be able to see Ollie again soon she threw herself on her bed holding up her Udin above her looking at him and feeling a smile grow on her face as she brought him down and hugged him close. Looking at the clock again she saw that she only had 8 minutes left before stream time, so putting Udin back in his spot and straightening her dress she went to her desk in order to start set up not noticing behind her that he Udin's head was slightly turned towards her the mouth stitching worked into a small smile as it gazed in her direction.
Chapter Text
Thanks to the mirror supplied by Ollie and Olivia had many talks over the weeks and even some incredibly brief collabs during milestone streams and to chat with each other's fandoms from time to time. For the most part other than their first chat where they got to know each other more the talks had been on the lighter side of conversation; advice, ideas for streams, games they liked, and things that might be different in their dimensions. Still more serious conversations did show from time to time.
Ollie had just wrapped up her Valorant stream and if she was being honest wasn't feeling to hot afterwards. Despite how chat would try to encourage her or how Udin would hug her leg or pat her shoulder after some climbing she just wanted to not deal with things right now. The game itself wasn't a problem it seemed like it would have been fun if she'd been playing with friends or if the players she'd been paired with hadn't been so actively mean and toxic. Regardless of what she'd preferred what had happened had happened and was making her feel rather small as she curled into herself on her bed.
After some time had passed Ollie propped herself up on her hands and looked around her room for some kind of distraction from her thoughts, Udin was currently nowhere to be seen having left a few minutes ago after scrawling a note that seemed to state it was going to get her something to eat from the ramen shop downstairs. Given the current time being sometime in the evening she could tell he'd be down there for quite some time. Looking around the room she saw her phone sitting on her nightstand silently, her PC still on showing her screen saver since she hadn't touched it since she'd logged off, and then finally her eyes landed on the mirror on the wall. Currently the mirror only showed Ollie her reflection. Focused she crawled on her bed closer to mirror taking a closer look at herself seeing the white parts of her eyes tinged with red with small tear trails going down her cheeks. Wiping her face with her arm she slid off of the bed, straightened her clothes she pulled her chair over to the mirror and softly knocked on the glass.
------------------------------------------------On the other side-----------------------------------------------------------
Olivia had finished her Sims City stream close to an hour ago and for the most part was doing rather well today. She'd made some progress and chat was rather well behaved today. At the moment she was just lying on her bed propped up against a pillow reading a book with her newly now alive Udin sitting in her lap. She'd noticed that after the initial dimension switch and then the first time the mirror had been activated that her version of Udin was slowly starting to show signs of life as if sparked by Ollie's version. Over the weeks he became slowly more and more animated to the point where he was able to move around freely when close by Olivia and develop a bit more of a personality.
As they laid there Olivia holding the book while Udin periodically turned the pages she heard a small knock come from the mirror with a soft voice quietly asking.
“Hey are you there? Can we talk if you are?”
Hearing the uncharacteristically demure voice Olivia put down the book and moved Udin over off of her so she could get up and move off of her bed and pull a chair to the mirror.
“Yeah I'm here! I love talking with you, how have you been? It's been a few days since we've spoken hasn't it?” she replied with a chipper tone.
“Y...yeah it's been a bit hasn't it? I've been better just had a bit of a bad day is all. I didn't interrupt anything did I?” Ollie questioned hoping for her to say that she hadn't.
“Not at all! Me and Udin we're just doing a bit of reading. He's gotten really animated and so much cuter as of late. I really can't stress how thankful I am for it.” Olivia stated looking back to her bear reading on his own. “What's on your mind Ollie? It sounds like you had a really bad day. Want to tell me what happened?”
Giving the mirror now showing her inter-dimensional counterpart a small smile Ollie regaled Olivia with what happened during the stream and her feelings and the thoughts going through her mind as a result. By the time she'd finished she had her legs up against her chest hugging them with her face against her knees a frown on her face and eyes watering a little bit. Hearing how her new and close friend was currently suffering Olivia wanted nothing more than to reach through the mirror and pull the other girl to her in the most crushing hug she could, instead however she had to settle for knocking on the glass to get Ollie to look towards her and giving her a small smile placing her hand against the mirror inviting Ollie to do the same. Moving over to the mirror Ollie replicated the motion and gave her a smile as they rested their foreheads against the glass as if on each other.
“I'm sorry you've had such a rough day today. Just remember Ollie you did your best for it being the second time you've played and you did well.” Olivia said as she consoled her “ At no point did you do anything to deserve the mean things they said to you. You work hard and when you put your mind to something you do wonders and you know it.”
“I know, it's just it gets so hard to not focus on that negativity when it's in my face. Chat tries, but still those always take root and hurt.” Ollie said in a soft tone. “I'm trying my best, but those types can really kill my motivation and energy.”
“They do the same to me Ollie” Olivia said letting her smile drop a little “Those types of comments are like thorns that always seem to dig in and not want to let go. They hurt so much that sometimes it doesn't feel like I want to do much, but I've found ways to help dig out those thorns. Would you like to hear it?”
Ollie didn't so much as answer but gave a small nod in reply not trusting her voice not to crack if she spoke.
Letting her smile grow again Olivia gave her the best piece of advice she could “When I get those kinds of comments that stick in me I talk to those that matter most to me and that I love. Like you Ollie.”
Ollie perked up hearing that a small blush coming across her cheeks as she heard her other side speak.
“You are pretty much the first I seek out after having a bad day. You're always able to cheer me right on up. I always seek you out when I'm down. To be honest I had Amelia-senpai set things up so I could start watching your VODs when you're busy.”
Feeling the blush continuing to grow across her face as she heard this admittance coming from someone wearing the same face as herself.
“You're like a sister but closer than any sister would normally be since in essence we are the same person just separated by circumstances. Like my chat always tells me 'You have to love yourself first and foremost'” Olivia finished a blush on her face along with a big smile directed at Ollie.
“Olivia........” Ollie started a new trickle of tears starting the roll down her face as she smiled “You're too sweet to me you know?”
Pressing two of her fingers to her lips and then to where Ollie's forehead was on the mirror Olivia kissed her forehead as Ollie sat there soaking in the affection she sorely needed.
“Feeling any better?” Olivia asked as she watched Ollie wipe her tears.
“Yeah I am. A good bit better actually. Thank you Olivia. You're wonderful you know that?” Ollie replied most of her troubling thoughts currently forgotten as she was able to focus on the girl in front of her. She was so focused she didn't hear the door to her room open behind her and then close as tiny squeaks made their way toward her.
“I'm glad to hear that.” Olivia replied with a smile. Having noticed the door open behind Ollie she leaned over to look behind her and smiled at what she saw.
“I think it's time for me to go for today though. I doubt you've eaten yet and it looks like dinner is served” she said pointing past Ollie downwards.
Turning to follow her finger Ollie looked and saw what she was referring to and smiled.
“Yeah I think it's time for me to call it a night” she said turning back to the mirror “Thank you for talking with me Olivia.”
“Anytime Ollie. Selamat malam.” Olivia said with a smile.
“Ollieyasumi!” Ollie replied back with a small wave as the image disappeared and was replaced by her own reflection.
Looking back at the sight that had made her smile earlier she turned back in her chair to see that Udin had returned carefully carrying a tray with a bowl of ramen with plastic wrap over it with a poorly done drawing of a heart next to the bowl. Lifting the tray out of his paws she placed it on the bed and then picking him up placed the bear next to the tray as she began to eat and reflect on the conversation she had letting the emotion and affection received from both sides of the mirror warm her from the inside out.
Notes:
It's a bit late but I didn't want to put out something that I couldn't take pride in completing. Made this in attempt to cheer Ollie after her Valorant stream using advise that I'd actually received from my own friends but reworded to fit.

Chapter Text
Apex streams were work like any other stream but in the end for Ollie they were significantly more fun between getting to play with her friends or other VTubers she hadn't had much contact with yet, and if she got lucky possibly convert a new player in to being addicted to Apex as much as she was. Still for every up there were downs. Whether they be delays due to tech issues or less serious ones though no less annoying like stream sniping she managed to find some way of dealing with them.
Today's problem however wasn't one that she could really deal with so much as just accept. Every comp match it seemed she played today left her screaming within the first few minutes between incompetent Jump-masters dropping in the middle of a hot-zone with 2 other teams, not getting decent weapons or armor before getting downed, or worse her main Lifeline getting sniped in character select before they even really got started. All in all she was being left as a very tired and frustrated zombie that just needed a break, just a little break from coming in near the bottom wasn't too much to ask was it?
Sensing his owner's frustrated condition Udin hopped off his perch from a tiny stool he had by the sound proof booth she'd constructed in order to resume yelling and screaming during games without bothering anyone. He tapped on the door to give an alert that he was heading out that fell on deaf ears as Ollie went into another match. Grabbing a tiny purse that hung by the door for him and headed out to find something to cheer up the poor girl.
Back in the booth Ollie hadn't heard the exit and continued to grind away eventually getting herself into a team that managed to survive until the Top 10 so that was a little victory she could accept until right after when she had a team where they left her as Jump-master and then both dropped on their own in different locations on the map leaving no chance of gearing up and moving together. To her own surprise she managed to live a lot longer than she thought she would due to teams coming across each other as she fled leaving them to fight each other. She was doing rather well until she ran into a small area for shelter not checking the door before she closed it trapping herself in with a few of Caustic's mines.
Screaming as she tried to get out of the room she didn't even make it to the door before dropping and then dying shortly after as the one “teammate” that survived as long as she did dropped shortly after leaving nobody to even potentially pick her up. Letting out a final sigh in defeat she closed out her stream as usual and stretched before standing up and pushing the door to her booth open feeling a thump as it hit something and shortly after hearing another thump as something hit the wall. Looking around the door still partially closed she looked down and saw a dazed Udin flat on his back on the ground. Rushing out to pick him up and make sure he was okay she looked him over seeing she'd just bumped his head with the door. Feeling that his hands were a bit wet though she took a closer look and then let her eyes follow a small pink trail leading towards the wall that held the mirror. Seeing a familiar looking cup in the corner under the mirror she went over and saw that it was from a nearby boba chain called 'Halu Halu'. She also noted that it was half empty with the lid slightly peeled up. Looking back to the wall she saw why.
When she'd opened the door it had knocked into Udin who was carrying the boba back home to her, it flew out of his hands as he fell back, and hit the top of the mirror soaking it with what she assumed was strawberry milk tea and tapioca. Inside she felt something crack before the mirror sparked drawing her attention back to it instead of to how shit the day had been. The runes on the mirror started to randomly light up and spark across the glass as the image on the mirror started to distort.
“NO! No no nonono no!” Ollie shouted in a panicked state as she ran around the room trying to find something to dry it with.
As she tore around her room she felt a breeze drawing from behind her. Turning she saw the mirror's image swirling to look like a spiral as it began to suck small things into it from the cup on the ground, to a piece of scrap paper she'd had on her dresser to finally it had enough strength to slowly lift up Udin as he began to slide head first into the vortex. Rushing over to pull him out she saw in surprise as the bear started to reemerge from the mirror as he was drawn in. As the bear flopped into the waiting arms the suction stopped and the mirror showed another reality as it usually did when activated.
This wasn't one that she'd actually contacted before though. She'd mostly only connected with Olivia not knowing how many experiments Amelia had conducted and was keen on breaking her one means of connection to a good friend/gatcha luck support. The version shown this time was also a zombie which she hadn't really come across before outside of herself. Most noticeably however this version had one major difference between them by being male wearing a tattered tee-shirt and pants with one of the legs missing. Looking as confused as Ollie did he also held a bear in his arms looking just like her own.
“..............Hi.” The alter version said awkwardly trying to put on a grin.
“Uhhhhh hi. “ Ollie replied just as nervous to meet a new version. “Nice bear you have there, I thought I was the only one with purple and blue.”
“Wait what?” Confused he looked down to see the bear he was holding was indeed purple and blue instead of his usual purple and pink. Holding Udin up before him to get a better look he uttered “Wait a minute you aren't Roro.”
Concerned at the way he reacted to the bear Ollie looked to her own hands and saw a pink and purple bear that resembled Udin very closely looking up at her a stitched frown on it's face looking equally confused.
“I think this might be Roro” she said holding up the bear to face the mirror. Pointing to the one currently still being held she continued “That would be Udin you have there, could I have him back?”
“Uhhhh sure. Trade?” the other zombie offered approaching the mirror, bear first. “So um normally this only works as a window like thing so how do we do this?”
“Maybe put them though at the same time?”
“Works for me. Hold on tight alright?” he spoke to Udin as he moved him closer to the mirror.
As Ollie did the same motion with Roro they both noticed a change in how the mirror normally was. The glass was no longer there. So when they put their respective plushes through they both fell into each other dropping the bears on their respective planes of existence. Noting the closeness they both stepped away blushing before the newcomer started.
“Well this certainly is new! When Emmett first gave me this thing he didn't say anything about moving through it just seeing the other side. This may be a bit late but hello! My name is Kureiji Ozzy.” He greeted with a wave as Roro rose from the ground she was dropped on.
Piecing together what had happened Ollie surmised that the mirror had somehow just physically connected the dimensions instead of letting them simply talk. Seeing Udin back unharmed starting to walk over to the fallen cup she returned the greeting extending her hand. “Yeah this is a bit late isn't it? Hi I'm Kureiji Ollie.”
Noting her hand extended in greeting Ozzy reached to shake it through the now hole in the wall where the mirror would have been on either side of their rooms. As they clasped hands the mirror began to spark once more as the borders expanded until the floor length mirror expanded to encompass the entire wall it resided on on both sides now effectively making them both one room.
“......................” Both of their eyes widened at the situation that had developed. Within moments of each other both whipped out their phones stating “I NEED TO MAKE A CALL!”
Both dialed one of the few numbers they had on speed dial for emergencies like this, their resident time-traveler and dimension hopper. Huddled over on her side of the room Ollie waited patiently for Amelia to pick up and help her with the much larger of an issue situation she was facing.
“Pick up pick up pick up the phone already!” Ollie spoke at a mile a minute.
After a few rings Amelia finally picked up the phone “Uhhnn hello?” a groggy voice came through the line “Ollie it's 5 in the morning, what's wrong?”
“What's wrong?! The mirror YOU brought over did something weird and now I'm sharing a room with another me!”
“Wait what? That shouldn't be a thing. Stuff like that only happens if you get something like coffee or tea or something on it.” came the tired reply “Gimme a bit and I'll come over to help. Just gotta put on clothes now, thanks for that.”
With that the line cut off and Ollie was now resigned to having to sit on her bed as her new counterpart paced his room just as panicked as she had been and still was talking to what she assumed from the parts of the conversation she heard was his version of Amelia.
-----------------------------------------A few minutes later---------------------------------
Ozzy's call had just ended and now he mirrored Ollie as he sat on his bed not wanting to make the situation more awkward than it already was. However the bears they had weren't as shy as their owners as Udin and Roro had met at the “wall” where the two met and seemed to be having some sort of conversation by their movements despite no real words being exchanged. As they continued their talks on both sides simultaneous clock shaped portals emerged as two figures emerged from them. On Ollie's side the time-traveling detective Amelia Watson and on Ozzy's side sharing the same occupation Emmett Watson. Sensing the other's emergence the two turned from facing their charges to look at each other. Reaching out they felt each other's hand in the middle sparks forming around them as they connected and then separated.
“You too huh? Yup. We haven't conducted this run yet did we? Not that I'm aware. Oh well, lemme head on over and talk this out.” They both said to each other in unison as if they were both reading the other's mind.
Ollie looked at the exchange that just occurred as it was stranger than what seemed to be an interpretive dance off Udin was having with Roro. Amelia approached then sat on the corner of Ollie's bed patting a spot next to her to call her over.
“Sooooo this isn't how that's supposed to work but I can kind of guess what happened” she said gesturing to the cup in the trash “So let's talk do's and don'ts here until we get this sorted out.” Amelia started as she pulled a notepad and pen out of her jacket. “First things first no trading stuff okay? When the door closes all your stuff; clothes, games, etc.; needs to be back on this side alright? Second no fighting. Your worlds are joined right now so you got need to be alive? when they separate. And 3rd and last don't worry about it!” She said with a grin finally “Remember that at the core he and you are the same person technically so just be chill and talk to each other. Now any questions?” she asked her lecture finally ending.
“Yeah I have a few. Do we know how long this is gonna last?” Ollie started.
“Probably until me and Emmett talk to OmegaA and get them to help with it.” Amelia replied pulling at her collar not wanting to have a talk about this with the administrator even if she would have another to back her up.
“Okay so what she we do about ya know stuff?” Ollie said blushing looking over at Ozzy and seeing him looking up at the ceiling and trying to be anywhere other than in the room.
“Stuff? Oh you mean like changing and stuff? He's you! Just go for it. It's not like the world would end if you saw each other naked.” Amelia said laughing at the other girl's face as it turned a deep shade of red.
“But it is a problem though......... He's hot.” Ollie mumbled looking down at a suddenly interesting piece of her blanket.
The silence between the two could be cut with a knife. Then without warning Amelia and Emmett on the other side both started laughing to the point where they fell on the ground with tears in their eyes. The laughter continued for a good few minutes as the zombies watched their sempai and looked at each others blushing faces. After making her way up off the floor Ame gave Ollie a knowing smile and then clapping her hand on the girl's shoulder gave her one piece of advice.
“Well then go talk to him. He's a cute boy and at the same time he's you. What's the worse that'll happen you don't like yourself? You've already gone through this once so just talk with him like you started with Olivia. I'm sure it'll go fine.”
“If you say so, I just don't want it to be weird ya know?” Ollie sighed as she scooted off the bed.
“Good girl! Now let's get together with them to wrap things up here for now.”
Pulling her back to the center of the large room where Ozzy and Emmett were waiting they traded notes regarding what happened with the mirror and both sharing the same expression of having to explain the situation to Omega not knowing how they would react.
“Well we're off to face the music here and hopefully live to tell about it.” Amelia said opening a new gate for the Watson duo and heading through it.
Before heading in himself Emmett looked back to Ozzy and said “Remember what we talked about man!” pointing to Ozzy and walking backwards into the gate.
“Sooo that was a thing” Ollie spoke up as she looked away from the spot where the Watsons were to Ozzy.
Looking him over she could only continue to deal with the fact that the male version of her was her type. He was just slightly taller than her the rips in his shirt showing off just enough skin to show some definition around his stomach. Not to mention the voice he spoke in did little to help.
It wasn't until she looked up at his face again did she realize he was looking her up and down with a prominent blush on his face. As their eyes met again the tension that built was suddenly broken by the sound of Udin and Roro having gone to both of their respective sides to grab their purses and then Roro heading to Udin's side as Udin left a note on Ollie's bed explaining that they were going downstairs for ramen and both of them leaving out the door right after.
“Are......Did they just leave on a date?” Ozzy asked his head tilted to the side as he looked at the door they just left out of. “I mean I know she's excited about this situation but I didn't see this coming. They must've really hit it off.”
“Yeah Udin seemed happy but damn he usually only gets that excited when we head out together. I'm a bit jealous not gonna lie.” Ollie replied a hand on her hip as she also looked at the door.
The previously forgotten silence resumed for a minute as they realized they were now truly alone in the room together. Breaking the awkwardness threatening to form Ollie quickly broke the ice quickly. “You wanna play Apex with me?”
Ozzy looked to Ollie for a second then smiled a wide grin “I thought you'd never ask! I call dibs on Revenant!”
Smirking as she got in the competitive mood Ollie replied quickly with “Good you can have him since I'm taking Lifeline. Who should we get as a third or do you wanna try with randoms?”
“I've had my fill of randoms for the day” Ozzy replied relaying the story of how he had gotten fed up with the shit players he'd been saddled with and how the frustration led to a latte Roro bought him getting knocked into the mirror.
Exchanging user IDs they signed on and joined into a party before snagging an indie vtuber Ollie had played with previously. Queuing into the match they ended up landing in a spot with another team but managed to repel the initial attack before gearing up, the other team having retreated, and began to advance through the maps catching the teams caught outside of the ring for easy kills as they moved around the map Ozzy getting dropped once but getting brought back shortly after by Lifeline's healing drone. The match continued for a good while the team eventually getting wiped by getting caught between two others. Still they weren't upset since they took 4th after actually having a chance to play. Going for another few rounds they didn't make champion but they did come in second the last two games they played eventually getting tired and deciding to call it a day.
Leaving their audio booths they both crashed in to a set of beanbag chairs that Ozzy had in his room tired but happy to have the day going better. They both let out a sigh of relief as they sat back to back at an angle. Resting and letting their heads fall back they accidentally knocked into each other making them grab the backs of their heads in pain and then seeing the other copying their reaction laughed at the other before realizing how close the other's face was. A blush appeared on both of their faces, but neither moved in spite of it. After not more than a minute or two Ollie spoke up attempting to break silence.
“So umm weird question feel free to say no buuuuut do you wanna-”
“YOU'RE INCREDIBLY PRETTY AND I'M SORRY!” came a near shout from Ozzy while staring a hole into the floor head lowered not wanting to see the look that may be on Ollie's face.
“.........You mean that all this time........ I've been worried about finding you hot for nothing?!” she exclaimed more upset with herself than him “I mean I thought I was just being weird cause I mean it's selfcest kind of and I mean you're hot so you probably already had a gf and that'd be weird and now I'm making it more weird..” she rattled on.
Finally looking up he managed to get a smile on his face as he placed a hand on her head rubbing her scalp. She had been just as nervous as he had been and they'd both made things awkward for nothing trying to mind the other's feelings. He also found the gf thought of hers funny. Between tricking his sempai and the few he didn't have to he had plenty of husbands but was purposefully lacking on the feminine side of the pool. Astina-anesan would get a kick out of hearing that.
Stopping her ranting Ollie mustered up the courage to finish her previous thought “So do you wanna maybe sorta kinda make out a little while this whole thing lasts or-”
Not waiting for her to talk herself out of the idea Ozzy closed the gap between them placing a hand on her hip to bring her closer. Ollie's eyes widened at the sudden boldness but fell into the groove of things wrapping her arms around his shoulders and kissed him back high-fiving herself in her brain while she enjoyed herself with the boy she currently embraced. Carrying on for a good half an hour taking brief breaks for air before diving back in to the other.
An hour later they found themselves huddled together on Ozzy's bed holding hands and breathing heavily as let themselves rest each sporting a messed up hairdo, wrinkled clothes, and a few hickies on their necks and collarbones.
“That was so worth breaking that mirror.” Ozzy said letting the past hour replay in his head over and over again.
“Couldn't agree more. Need to make sure I thank Udin for that.” Ollie agreed playing with a loose piece of fabric on his chest before coming to the realization that neither Udin or Roro had come back yet.
“They've been gone quite awhile and last I checked the ramen shop is just downstairs.. You think they're okay?” Ollie posed sitting up looking towards her door.
“Now that you mention it that is strange. Should we go check? I mean there's only so much a bear can eat right?”
Rising out of bed they straightened out what they could and made their way to Ollie's door. Just before they reached the door the handle turned and in walked the two bears in question with one holding a crepe and the other with a cup of boba. The two pairs looked at each other and then coming to a silent agreement decided to not inquire into what the other was up to while unsupervised.
As they came to their agreement a clock gate showed up on Ozzy's side with two detectives and a disappointed looking Omega behind them with a clip board and a white paddle hanging off of their hip.
“So this is the mess you two made. You realize that this is going to be a long fix right?” Omega said their face stoic but intent anything but amused. “You two will be working overtime for quite some time to make up for this.”
“We understand” the Watsons said both rubbing their backsides as they got to work. As they started Omega approached the two pairs and gave a small smile.
“I do find it interesting that no matter the dimension you always seem to attempt to flirt with me. It's quite endearing. Now let's talk about what will be happening. Your dimensions can not stay as one for very long without severe consequences that would affect everyone. However thankfully we'll have it fixed in time. One other thing you need to be aware of, this is not a permanent goodbye. Your mirrors will still be connected and unlike with most mirrors yours and the one's you've previously connected with will let you physically travel between, but only for an hour at a time so make it count.” they finished with a wink towards Ollie and Ozzy.
Walking back towards the center Omega snapped their fingers opening a triangular gate. Pointing to the Watson's they stated “Alright you two head on in. The Warden is waiting for you and I don't think time is on your side today.”
The time travelers mumbled and complained as they complied with the order and entered to see what strange punishment would await them from the Warden of Time.
“As for you two it's time to say your temporary goodbyes. The door will be closing soon and I doubt either of you wants to not exist anymore.” with that Omega walked through their gate themselves letting it close behind them.
Knowing that it wasn't necessarily the end the two zombies hugged it out almost squeezing the unlife out of each other before Ozzy made his way back to his side Roro in tow as they stepped back on to their side the wall between them starting to return as the mirror slowly shrank back into it's original size and showing a their own reflections yet again.
“............Udin you're getting a raise.”
