Work Text:
"Lisa!" Barbara called out, waving as she sent the librarian a smile. Lisa spun around on her heel, holding a book to her chest as she smiled fondly back at the nun.
"Can I help you, dear?"
The nun ran up to her, panting slightly as she tried to catch her breath, "Yes, yes you can."
The mage giggled, tilting her head and nodding, "What can I do for you?"
Barbara stood up, brushing her skirt down and looking around, "You know how Jean and I are going on an adventure with Klee?" her voice came out almost a whisper as if she was concealing it from someone.
"Sure I do, dear. What about it?" Lisa hummed back, bending down so that it was easier for Barbara to whisper.
"I was thinking of making summer outfits for us, since you know, it'd be quite hot out there."
Lisa's face lit up and she stood up straight, a smile on her lips, "That's an excellent idea, love, what do you need me to do?"
Barbara smiled back, clasping her hands together, "Could you get Jean's measurements? It needs to stay a secret, though."
The witch nodded, "Of course. I'll do it as soon as possible."
"Thank you, Lisa!"
-----
Lisa strode down the hallway, a little pep in her walk with every step she took. She lifted her hand and gave a small wave to Kaeya as he walked by, winking at her. The mage slowed down by the door, inhaling before turning the handle and opening it.
"Hey darling," Lisa mused, laughing softly as she watched Jean hurriedly look up from her paperwork.
"Archons, you scared me, Lisa," Jean breathed out, chuckling as she smiled up at the librarian.
"Sorry, darling, I didn't intend to," Lisa laughed, covering her mouth with her hand slightly. The knight smiled, laying the pen in her hand down as she looked up at Lisa.
"It's alright, I just didn't intend to see you here," Jean admitted.
"Aww," Lisa put on a fake pout, bringing closed fists up to her chest, "Is my dandelion knight busy? I'll leave if you want."
Jean turned a shade redder at the nickname, waving her hands in front of her defensively, "No! I never said that, Lisa. You're very welcome to stay." The knight smiled, nodding as if she was inviting Lisa in.
The witch strode across the room, swaying her hips ever so slightly, just enough for Jean to notice. The Acting Grand Master swallowed, enticed as her gaze followed down to the Mage's thighs. Her gaze quickly snapped up once she heard a giggle, being met with Lisa as she tipped her hat down and bent over the desk.
"Hi dear, what are you up to?"
Lisa put her elbows down on the desk, pressing her arms ever so slightly together to maybe or maybe not purposely show off some of her chest.
Jean gulped, smiling as her eyes strained to keep contact with Lisa's, "I'm just doing some paper work, I would like to finish some up before I set off with Klee."
Lisa yawned, taking this opportunity to lean forward, "Is that so? My, you're so responsible. Really fit for Monstadt's top knight, aren't you, cutie?"
"Thank you, Lisa, it really does mean a lot coming from you."
The mage giggled, smirking as she watched Jean's eyes drop a bit before quickly snapping back up, clearing her throat and averting her gaze to the side.
The witch raised an eyebrow.
"My my, quite bold of you, Acting Grand Master," Lisa teased, running her finger over the top of the table.
"I- I didn't mean to, I apologise. I realise it is very unprofessional of me," Jean said, her fingers linking together as she brushed her thumbs over each other nervously.
Lisa shook her head, laughing, "I'm just messing with you, Jeanie, lighten up."
Jean sighed, looking back up again as Lisa gently put her index finger under her chin, her thumb ghosting over Jean's bottom lip. Jean froze for a second, her heart pulsing quicker by the second before somewhat accepting it. The knight leaned into her touch a bit, her cheeks to the tip of her ears turning a rosy colour as she smiled up at Lisa. The librarian hummed, tilting Jean's head in various ways, slightly brushing over her jawline once or twice. Once she had finished inspecting her face, Lisa leaned back slightly, using her other hand to brush down Jean's sleeve, her other hand still having control of the knight's face.
"Lisa, I'm meant to be working, what are you doing?"
"You're quite pretty, aren't you, my Jean?" Lisa's lips turned into a small smirk before suddenly switching to an expression that seemed as innocent as possible.
Jean swallowed, "Th- Thank you, Lisa."
The mage nodded, smiling before retracting her hands back, much to Jean's dismay.
"I need to measure you, is that alright my dear?"
Jean frowned, "Why? What for?"
"Oh, for a surprise," Lisa smiled, clasping her hands together and looking down at the knight pleadingly.
Jean bit and tugged on her bottom lip in contemplation, batting a quick eye down to her paperwork before sighing in defeat, sliding her chair back and placing her hands on the desk for support as she stood up.
Lisa clapped, excitement filling her eyes as she beckoned for Jean to come stand next to her. The mage took her by the shoulders, adjusting her so that they faced each other as she brushed her shoulders off.
Lisa's hands moved with play with the front button of the knight's cape, stopping halfway through taking it off.
"Oh, I'm sorry dear. I never asked, this is okay, right?"
Jean nodded, shuddering slightly as the air hit her now exposed skin.
"Much better," Lisa hummed, folding the fabric neatly and putting it down on the desk.
With a quick flick of the wrist and a small snap, a measuring tape appeared in the witch's hand, small purple particles dispersing into the air with it. She unrolled it between her fingers, observing it before looking back up at Jean and giving her a reassuring smile.
"I never knew you could do that," Jean looked fascinated, a smile on her face as she tried to get a better look at Lisa's hand.
The librarian laughed softly, shaking her hand up and down and snapping again, a small rose appearing between two of her fingers. She held it up, offering it to Jean and winking.
"I've got many tricks up my sleeve that you don't know about."
The knight gladly accepted the rose, turning it around in her hand as she inspected it.
"You look adorable when you're interested in something," Lisa teased, the corner of her lips tugging into a smile.
Jean turned a shade redder, putting the rose in a cup that sat on her desk before clearing her throat and looking off to the side in embarrassment.
Lisa cupped Jean's cheek, brushing her thumb over it as she cooed reassuringly, "Dear, that's nothing to be ashamed about."
Jean sighed, "I know, I know."
The mage smiled softly at her, letting her go before turning her attention back to the measuring tape. She rolled it out between her fingers and inspected it before humming in content.
Lisa stepped forward placing either end on Jean's shoulder and adjusting it before mentally taking down the measurement.
She went on with this for her arms as well, carefully brushing over them before nodding to herself.
It was quiet except for Lisa's humming, a tune that Jean recognised as Barbara's. She smiled, she'd always been fond of the little friendship Lisa and her sister had.
After a while of double-checking this and that, the librarian crouched down in front of Jean, her lips turning into a small smirk before wrapping the measuring tape around her waist. The knight subconsciously sucked her breath in, making her stomach appear smaller. The mage's smirk turned into a small frown as she looked up at Jean. To keep her balance, Lisa placed a hand on Jean's thigh, squeezing lightly whenever she felt she was about to fall over.
"My lovely knight, relax for me, will you? I can't get the proper measurements with you sucking your stomach in," Lisa noticed a hint of worry in Jean's eyes, "Oh dear, you're beautiful as it is, don't worry about it."
Jean nodded quickly, relaxing her abdomen. Now, that wasn't the thing she was worried about per se, she didn't really care about her body image, especially around Lisa. However, the thing that was driving her up the wall with anxiety was how peculiar this position was.
Oh, Jean felt so guilty imagining all this, Lisa's hand on her thigh, her head so close to just where she wanted, the way she looked up at Jean- she had to tell herself to snap out of it, Lisa only entertained her with her flirting because she flirted with everyone and Jean felt horrible for crossing that boundary, even in her imagination.
Lisa's hand moved up to her waist, receiving the end of the measuring tape that she has looped around the back. She stayed there for a while before sliding the measuring tape down to her hips, mentally noting to herself again.
She stood up, much to the relief and slight frustration of Jean. She walked around the back, the knight's head turning slightly to see where she was going. After a few seconds, she could feel Lisa's hands on her back, giving her almost a massage before slipping to her front. Along with it was the measuring tape, unrolled as the mage wrapped it around Jean's chest.
She giggled, muttering to herself under her breath, "Big."
Jean's eyes widened and she felt her face turn a shade redder at the comment, looking down at her chest.
Lisa hummed once again, retracting her hands and presumably rolling up the tape measure, snapping once again as the object disappeared into thin air.
After a couple of seconds, she could feel Lisa press herself against her back, wrapping her arms around her waist and placing her head right next to Jean's ear.
"You've done so well, my love. Excellent as always, Acting Grand Master Jean."
Jean could feel her heart in her throat and her face had gone bright red, spreading to the tip of her ears.
"Measuring you would've been much easier without all this knight bulk on but I suppose I can't ask you to strip," Lisa giggled.
At the image of it in her head, Jean swallowed, her palms going sweaty as her head swam at the way Lisa's hand moved to her hips, so teasingly and slow and excruciatingly painful yet blissful.
Jean could feel the mage's breath against the side of her neck, even and warm.
One of Lisa's hands stayed on Jean's hip whilst the other one trailed up her front slowly. Her hand gently placed itself on her throat, tilting her head up, "Jean, what does my flirting mean to you?"
The knight swallowed, sensing the slight change in atmosphere that lurked around in the room. She couldn't lie and say she hadn't dreamed of this but the sense of interrogation in Lisa's voice threw her off a bit.
Jean let out a shaky breath, "I assumed you flirted with everyone."
The way the pressure on her throat increased made her brain almost short circuit, sucking her breath in as Lisa whispered again.
"I do," she giggled softly, "But I'm hurt you think so lowly of me."
Jean swallowed.
"But yet again, I can't punish my knight for being correct."
"I assumed you just used your flirting to get your way-"
No, that sounded bad. That sounded really bad. Why did she say that?
Jean could feel Lisa's quick exhale onto her breath, a small frown forming on her brow.
"Is that so? Oh dear, it appears I'm nothing but a shameless little flirt to you then?"
Jean could almost sense the frustration in her voice, internally cursing herself for letting out something so stupid.
"Lisa-"
She stopped, frowning as she felt the witch push herself away from her. She turned around, faced with a rather cross mage as Lisa brushed herself off, looking down onto the ground before walking over to the door. The click of her heels almost matched up with the thumping of Jean's heart. Subconsciously, the knight reached her hand out, stepping forward before Lisa shot her a glance.
"I won't take up much more of your time then, I'm sure you've got better use of your time than talking to the town's flirt, don't you, Acting Grand Master?"
This time the title seemed more judgemental than flirty and it sent Jean off. She opened her mouth to speak before the door shut in front of her, leaving her slightly stunned in her place as she registered what had happened. The sudden change in mood brought her discomfort and it irritated her more than she would've liked to admit.
-----
"She thinks I'm nothing but a flirt!" Lisa huffed, frustration seeping into her voice as she slammed her drink down onto the counter.
Kaeya rolled his eyes, snapping his fingers to signal he wanted another drink. Diluc scoffed, sliding the already prepared drink before drawing his attention to another customer.
"I'm sure that's not true, Lisa. You know how Jean is," the knight stopped for a moment, thinking of a suitable way to continue the sentence, "She's just a bit frigid?"
Lisa snorted, almost choking on her drink before using the inside of her elbow to cover her mouth, "Did you just call Jean frigid?"
Kaeya pressed his lips into a thin line, suppressing his laughs as he took another small sip from the cup, "Possibly."
Even in the background, Diluc couldn't help but let out a small chuckle, shaking his head as he continued wiping the tabletop.
The librarian waved her hand through the air dismissively, "Whatever the case is, I now know she doesn't want me, so."
Kaeya frowned, nudging her, "That's bullshit, of course she does. I'm sure she just slipped up."
"Slipped up?" Lisa raised her eyebrow, "Slipped up and said I only flirt to get things I want? She isn't wrong!" And that infuriated her, "But she can't say it like that, not when we were that close to each other!"
Kaeya let out a suggestive 'ohh' and he waggled his eyebrows, "You didn't tell me about the 'close' bit, Lisa."
It was the mage's turn to roll her eyes, "None of your business."
"I'f it's none of my business, I don't see why you dragged me out here to drink and complain about your woman problems."
Lisa looked away, too embarrassed to admit defeat.
-----
"Lisa, I have some more paperwork for you," Jean smiled, waving the papers in her hands as if everything was normal. Lisa shot her a glance before looking down at the books on her desk again.
"Leave it on my desk."
The knight frowned, taken back by the unusual tone of voice, "What's wrong?"
Lisa paused for a moment, clenching her hand slightly as she kept her gaze down on the table, "Nothing, I said leave the paper on my desk."
"Come on, Lisa-"
"I said," her voice was laced with annoyance, "Leave," she took a pause between each word, "the papers on my desk."
-----
Jean hated it.
She hated the way Lisa was ignoring her. She hated how jealous she got when she'd see Lisa flirt with someone else. She hated the way Lisa would always touch the men's arms, speak to them in such a soft and sweet tone and how she'd push her chest up against them ever so slightly. She hated all the attention they got.
She hated that it wasn't her.
Not anymore.
Because those were things Lisa had always done to her and now it seemed as if the mage wanted nothing to do with the knight.
Had her comments that day really affected Lisa that much? She truly hadn't meant them.
Oh, it frustrated her so much knowing what could've happened if she hadn't been dumb enough to slip up like that.
And she was determined to fix it.
-----
The library was very empty, even Ella Musk was nowhere to be seen. Maybe it was days like these that didn't seem to attract many people.
Lisa sat by her desk, humming as she sorted through papers and books, checking who had and who hadn't returned their items on time. Her eyes skimmed down the list, only to catch on a particular person's name.
Jean Gunnhildr.
Lisa inhaled, rolling her eyes at the 'Late' mark that was plastered next to the name. She sighed before her head snapped up at the sound of footsteps.
They stopped right in front of her desk and before she had the time to react she was dragged up by her collar and she could feel a breath dangerously close to her face.
"Lisa Minci."
The mage's eyes snapped up to be met by blue eyes staring right back at her. She parted her lips to tell the knight to get off of her but Jean must've mistaken this as an invite.
Their lips met and Lisa could feel Jean almost desperately tug on her collar, snaking a hand round the back of her neck and pulling her as close as possible. It was as if she needed Lisa to breathe.
The witch pulled away for air, only to be pulled back in by a quietly pleading Jean, muttering small 'no's and 'Lisa's here and there.
The librarian was stunned to say the least, never had she expected the usually shy knight to be so upfront about something.
Lisa pulled away again, placing her hands on Jean's shoulders to create some space in between them.
"Jean, calm down, what's this about?" Lisa could still feel the tingle on her lips as she spoke, adopting a softer expression as she looked at a visibly frustrated Jean. She walked around her desk, getting closer to the knight as she awaited an answer.
"I can't stand it!" Jean blurted out, looking into Lisa's green gaze, "The way yo- you talk to them! You're doing it on purpose, I know it!"
Lisa giggled, amused by the slight temper tantrum Jean was throwing.
"Why don't you look at me like that anymore? It's driving me insane!" Jean's grip on Lisa tightened and her eyes washed over with some sort of desperateness, something true.
"Oh my dandelion knight," Lisa cooed, brushing her hands through gold locks, "I never realise it meant that much to you. I suppose I took your words too literally." She flashed a snarky smirk, earning a whine from Jean.
Lisa gave a quick peck on the knight's forehead before wrapping her arms around her, "It's not like I could've gone much longer without flirting with you anyway."
