Chapter Text
“I’m pure evil.”
The campiness of his threat kept itself in your mind all day and long after. When you got home that day you checked through your phone thoroughly to see what he had done to it. What he had changed. Nothing. Except there was a new contact in your phone with his name on it. Which left you even more confused. He was acting as though he wanted to push you away. And yet he just gave you his phone number without any issue. There technically was a trial to get there but it wasn't that hard.
Today is Friday though. Which means he’ll be coming by. Or at least, that he should be coming by. The thought made your stomach churn a bit. Not specifically because of what he said but because he’s so unpredictable. After lunch though your teacher did give you a list of things he needed to work on. All of them, assignments you passed with flying colors. So this whole tutor thing would probably be a breeze. Wouldn't take very long either. And then you wouldn't have to worry about it, or him for that matter.
Ding Dong Ding Dong
You ran downstairs and peaked through the mail slot by the door. That was definitely him. You opened the door slowly, akin to ripping off a band aid. He wasn't wearing a uniform anymore, neither were you. His face was completely clean compared to the other day. No cuts or bruises to be seen. You wondered if he was wearing makeup then or now? However he was still wearing the stickers and also had a black and white checkered scarf tied loosely around his neck.
“Hello (Reader)..” He said kindly. But you never told him your name. Neither did your teacher. And it's not like you're popular or well known. So how did he find out?
“Uh- Hello Kokichi. Welcome.” You motioned for him to come inside and once he did his gaze wandered around everything. He was about to start walking around your house but you quickly grabbed him by the wrist and tugged him upstairs to your room.
Your room was fairly dark. The walls were black, that's an obvious point. But you also had horror movie posters all over the place. Along with many creepy things like skulls, candles, masks and dolls. The only points of comfort were your bed, which looked soft. A red rug on the floor, equally soft. An old record player and a few different lava lamps illuminating the space.
“Wow! If I didn't know any better, I’d say that you were going to kill me in here!”
“I thought that's what you said you were going to do to me ?” You pulled up a second chair and sat at your desk. “Ok, sit down. We have a lot of shit to work on.”
“Me?” He giggled. “You're so silly, I could never hurt a fly.” He sat down. “And anyways, why do we have to work on all these stupid writing assigments? They're so BORING.”
You rolled your eyes. “Just because it sucks doesn't mean it's not important. Who knows what’ll happen to you if you don't graduate.”
“Your such a dumb bitch! Nothing bad happens if you fail school. It doesn't actually matter.” He started up his dramatics again. “And besides, why do you care what happens to me anyways?”
Why did you care? Right, right. The extra credit. You didn't want him to know about that. “Actually I don't care. I’m just trying to be a good person in vain of your.. Dickishness.”
Kokichi was taken back by this for a second but just as quickly went back to being abrasive. “I bet you like dick huh?” He whispered in your ear.
You scowled. “You're one to talk, with that flamboyant outfit of yours..”
Kokichi twirled around in the chair. “Just say your impressed and move on, fuck.”
You were blushed profusely. Maybe from anger, maybe from embarrassment, maybe from something else. Who’s to say. All you knew was that you can’t let him see you doing anything that might hint to you liking him. At all. So you slapped him in the face. Nice move. You immediately regretted it. But it was already done. Kokichi quickly turned away from you, attempting to let out his sadness in private, as much as possible.
“Oh my god! I am so so so so so so so so sorry! I don't know what came over me!” Kokichi turned back towards you.
“Nice move (Reader)! I didn't think you actually had any balls. But that was pretty funny!” He forced a cheery smile back at you but it wasn't hard to tell how his chest was trembling. He too didn't want to show you any emotion. But you didn't think of yourself as an asshole so you tried to help him.
“No, I'm serious, I shouldn't have done that. Is there anything I can get you? Like some water or an ice pack? Do you want to lay down for a bit?” You stood up, preparing yourself to follow through with your words.
“Don't act like you can actually hit hard enough to hurt me!” His tone grew more serious. “Uh, anyways.. What’s the first assignment on the list?” You sat back down slowly.
“Writing analysis…” You spoke slowly and carefully. He was cooperating now. If only you had gotten to this point without smacking him. “.. You have to read a story off of the list provided and then analyze it for its themes.” You handed him the paper. “I can tell you what each one is about if that helps?”
“Sure.. yeah. Why not.”
