“Lan Zhan! Psst, Lan Zhan,” Wei Wuxian pouted. Lan Wangji willed his hand not to twitch. “Lan Zhan! Spare this one just a glimpse from you, will you? Just one glance from your eyes will ensure I have sweet dreams for a week!”
“Wei Ying!” Lan Wangji turned towards the other teenager, hoping that his ears had not betrayed how much Wei Wuxian’s words had affected him. “Do not be promiscuous!”
“Promiscuous? Me?” Wei Wuxian stares back at him with unrestrained glee. “Aiya, Lan Zhan, are you sure that’s not you? When I said sweet dreams I meant you know, us talking in a field surrounded by little bunnies!”
Lan Wangji blinks. He can’t tell if Wei Wuxian is joking or not. He also doesn’t want to acknowledge why he’s oddly fond of the fact that he can’t decipher whether Wei Wuxian is joking or not.
(or: wei wuxian and lan wangji are alone in the library pavilion together, and there’s only so much lan wangji can handle before he loses his, for lack of a better word, shit.)
