unpredictable

Summary:

being a hero is every little kids dream at some point. some achieve that dream while some moved on with their lives.

but izuku wasn't like other people; far from it. he wanted to be a hero, sure, but he also wanted more.

izuku wanted to be a menace to society. someone that no one would expect from a quirkless boy like him;

izuku midoriya wanted to be a leader for those who cannot lead themselves. he wanted to be a true hero.

or, a drabble quirkless izuku story with a hint of biological dadzawa on the side.

Chapter Text

at seven years old, izuku midoriya found out he was quirkless.

usually, this would be world - ending news for any child. yet, izuku, he wasnt just any child. his parents, by all means, already had the 'you may be quirkless' talk with him. and he can remember it vividly, even if it happened a year and a half ago.

his mother called for him to come out to the living room, prompting izuku to pause with the analysis he was doing on a new hero, miruko. from what izuku knew about the hero (and what he was allowed to know. surprisingly any news about the hero that remotely seemed bad was wiped cleaned off the face of the internet) was that she was eighteen years old, yet already bursting into the top thirties so fast. she also had the coolest quirk ever! most people wouldn't think so, since it was just rabbit but izuku liked it.

izuku knew, in no time, that miruko would go from simply resting at being the number thirty one hero to the top twenty or ten-- actually no, the top five easily! izuku had a lot of confidence on that for whatever reason.

"izuku midoriya-aizawa! in here now, please!" oh. full last name. his mother called his full last name rather than her saying midoriya and not being bothered to do the rest. he could relate, but that also startled izuku onto his feet and in a mad dash that was embarrassing due to his tumbling.

though, with minimal damage thanks to his clumsiness, he rounded the corner into the living room.

izuku was greeted with his mother and father sitting on the couch, with inko, his mom, smiling lightly towards him once he ran out. shouta, his father, he didn't smile but his soften features were enough to tell izuku not to be worried.

well. at least not to be too worried. izukus soon saw the box of tissues in his dads hands as if he anticipated tears.

"uh.. momma, dad, what's going on here?" izuku slowly asked as he warily looked between his parents who both, gave a softer smile and welcoming waves to join him.

that did not ease his worries, but he still took a seat next to shouta.

"alright dear, me and your dad wanted to talk to you about the possibility that you may be a very late bloomer or even quirkless." inko started off carefully, as the gentle smile dropped but the warm kindness never left. if anything, izuku would dare say it increased ten folds.

though that didn't stop his breaths from halting as his body visibly jerked up. his gaze fleeted between his mom and dad, to contemplate any sort of feelings they might have on the subject. though, izuku only saw a musing, worried, frown grow on his fathers face while his mother gave a low exhale. nothing harsh, nothing bad. just expecting.

izuku, he saw how his mother slowly beckoned him over with a single hand wave. izuku was hesitant, but he still moved and once his body moved, he crumbled into his mothers side.

her dainty fingers curled their way throughout his hair; occasionally he felt her break apart his tangles. he thought it was silly and a bit mundane to do so -- after all, only a few seconds later his tangles would magically appear back. but, that didn't mean izuku hated it. no quite the opposite -- he loved it when his parents would comb their fingers through his hair.

"izuku, we told you this so you could be prepared. we love you and no matter what your quirk status or even lack of quirk status is, we would never hate you my love." inko proclaimed softly, and ah, the tears decided to suddenly make an (unwelcomed) guest appearance.

izuku sniffled as he buried his face into his mothers blouse. the sighs of his dad could be heard, along with shouta who once sat across from them, now was on izukus other side.

"kiddo, here," shouta held out tissues for his current snotty and tearful issue. izuku rubbed his eyes, though that left a stinging feeling behind almost as soon as he did so instead, he gratefully took the tissue from shouta.

"th- tha- thank y- you- ou- you." izuku felt his cheeks start to brun a bright embarrassed red from his sudden lost of being able to talk properly. though, his parents didn't seem to bat an eye to his stuttering and mess of words -- both of them instead, engulfed him into a hug.

bursting warmth erupted within izuku, as he sat there with his lips curling into a smile of his own. wetness burned in the corners of his eyes, as a suffocation clogged his throat, but izuku didnt care. he instead gave a bubbling laugh while he leaned into his parents -- soaking in the warmth and love they both gave him.
