Amity got out of bed having been unable to sleep at all that night. Her nerves were a wreck and another hour in bed staring wide awake at the ceiling certainly wasn’t going to change anything.
She still couldn’t believe she had actually been crazy enough to kiss Luz! Sure it may have been a quick peck on the cheek, but still!
And to top it off, she prefaced it with the fact that ‘she always had a way of sneaking into people’s hearts.’
…
Sneaking into people’s hearts!? Sneaking into people’s hearts !?
“Just kill me now…” Amity mumbled into her hands as she sat at her makeup vanity. She looked up at herself in the mirror and took a deep breath. “Welp, it’s happened. Best I can do is suck it up and hope I don’t see her at school today.”
Oh no.
She had school today. Where she had classes with Luz. The girl she had kissed not even 12 hours ago.
Amity collapsed once more into her hands. “Just kill me now…”

Luz went about her morning like a Zombie. She had barely managed to get any sleep that night, and when she did finally drift off, her dreams were flooded with her favorite memories of Amity.
The kiss on her cheek from the night before being the most frequent of these.
She still couldn’t believe it. For the first time in her life, someone who she had begun to develop feelings for clearly reciprocated them. It was a dream come true, straight out of one of her numerus Azura fanfics.
Yet the next step scared the pants off of her.
“Wall slam? No, too bold. Surprise kiss after school? No, too sudden. Walk up to her and just say ‘hey, lets date?’ No, not dramatic enough. Ugh, why is this so hard!?” Luz shouted as she paced around her room eating her breakfast. You would think that reading countless fanfics and writing even more than that would prepare you for the day you confess your love.
She had dreamed of this moment for so, so long. Why was it so hard to figure out what to do?
“Hey Kid, are you alright in there?” Eda called as she knocked on the door. “I know you're freaking out right now, but some of us are trying to sleep till noon.” she added with a chuckle.
Luz blushed, not having realized how loud she was being. “Yeah I’m fine, I’ll be out in a minute too.” She finished her breakfast and grabbed her school supplies before leaving her room and heading downstairs with Eda. “I was just trying to figure out how to do this.”
“What, how to tell tomato head that you like her too?”
“Eda, don’t call her that!”
“I saw her blush just as clear as you did despite how high in the air I was. She was just like a tomato!”
“Eda…” Luz gave Eda an expecting gaze as they reached the living room.
“Fine, fine. I won’t call her ‘tomato head’.” Eda picked up her cup of apple blood and began to mumble into her cup. “At least not in person.”
Luz sighed. She knew Eda was going to be uncooperative as soon as she got home last night and realized that Eda had been sneaking around and saw their whole exchange. Just one more thing she’ll have to get used to.
“Well the two of you love cheesy things, so why not just tell her the same thing?” Eda asked as she raised a questioning eyebrow.
“The same thing?” Luz said, arching her own eyebrow.
“Yeah, the whole ‘sneaking into your heart’ thing. I’m sure she’s freaking out about it still, knowing her at least, so who knows? Might just be the perfect thing to say.”
Luz thought it over for a moment before her face lit up and she ran and engulfed Eda into a tight hug. “That’s a great idea Eda! Thanks for your help.”
Eda, who still wasn’t used to hugs, awkwardly patted Luz’s head with her free hand. “No problem kid, anytime. Now, let’s get you to school!”
“Sure!” Luz said as she jumped away from the hug with a newfound energy. It stuck around with her for most of the flight to the school. It even lasted after she was left alone to wait for Amity’s arrival.
Then, she caught her first glimpse of lavender, her new favorite color, making her go stiff and already causing her to blush at the prospect of what was about to happen.
“Welp, it’s now or never.” Luz whispered, hyping herself up.

Amity kept her head down as she approached the school. She needed to make sure she didn’t run into Luz at least until their first class together.
It was imperative for her sanity that she-
“Amity!” Luz’s voice shouted from behind her.
Amity went stiff. “Oh shit, oh shit, oh shit, oh sh-”
She could hear Luz’s footsteps behind her growing louder, hear her breath as it grew in intensity, sensed the warmth of her body as she stood next to her, felt her soft lips as they kissed her cheek.
Wait a minute…
Her soft lips as they kissed her cheek !?!
Amity turned slowly to face Luz as her face began to burn red, her mind running a mile a minute. She noticed Luz’s equally intense blush as it began to spread across her face.
Luz began awkwardly scratching at the back of her neck. “Sorry about that, I just wanted to let you know that I think you sneaked into my heart too…” she finished with an awkward chuckle.
Amity stood speechless for a moment, trying to let her brain think about what she should do next.
“ Well I didn’t really think about what I was doing last night. Should I just go for it?”
After another moment, Amity decided “To hell with it.” and went with her gut. She, rather suddenly, grabbed Luz by her shoulders, and brought their lips together.
Amity had scrunched up her face and was ready for Luz to push away. She was pleasantly surprised when Luz eased them into a much more comfortable stance and returned the kiss.
Tears began to stream down both of their faces as they pulled back from the kiss. They laughed at each other before resting their foreheads together, whispering to each other.
“I love you Luz.”
“I love you too, Amity.”

BONUS SCENE!!
Edric and Emira stood around the corner of the school’s main entrance, watching as Luz approached their darling sister.
“What do you think she’ll do?” Ed asked, not taking her eyes off the scene.
“With any luck, they’ll kiss each other.” Emira responded, she too not taking her eyes off the scene.
Both siblings gasped when Luz kissed Amity’s cheek. They couldn’t make out what they were saying, but were astounded when Amity more or less threw herself at Luz, causing the two of them to kiss and confirm their feelings.
“DAAAMMMNNNNN!” the two said at the same time. “One hell of a bold move, that’s for sure.” Ed said as the twins went inside the school, smiles of pride spread on both of their faces.
