SasuSaku Month 2021 Day 3: Nighttime Routine

Summary:

Summary: Sarada is the center of their world, but for once Sasuke wants Sakura all to himself for the night. Sweet Uchiha fluff ahead, with mentions of adult themes. DISCLAIMER: I do not own Naruto. These characters are not original and all rights are reserved to Masashi Kishimoto.

Work Text:

Sarada fusses as her mother tries to outfit her in a clean onesie for bed. She’d thrown up on her other clothes and down Sasuke’s back after trying to burp her post pre-bed bottle feeding.

Flailing her arms and legs around, pouting and eyes brimmed with tears, Sarada wasn’t making this easy for Sakura. Nighttime had a tendency to be tough for the little one.

On the one hand, she didn’t like wearing things on her feet. She’d kick socks and shoes off any chance she got, but at night she’d end up getting too cold without her little feet all snug and wrapped up. The infant would cry until one of her parents would cover them in socks or a warm blanket. Hence the onesie, which Sarada was not happy about one bit.

Sarada was bad with routines, especially at night. Being only two months old, she wasn’t sleeping through the night, and her eating schedule was inconsistent at best and a nightmare for Sakura at worst.

It wasn’t her fault; she was new to this strange place. She could still remember the warmth and security of her mother’s womb; this little bassinet next to where mama and papa slept was not nearly as comforting. So, she fussed.

Her parents weren’t coping well with these changes either. They were new to being parents, and they’re fussy baby meant numerous consecutive sleepless nights. Not to mention, it’d changed many things about their own lives in general. Eating and sleeping on a consistent basis was a luxury of the past, and a lack of intimacy had sprouted both from the hectic nights and having a newborn in their bedroom.

“Tsunade and my mom assured me that Sarada will fall into a routine soon,” Sakura reminded Sasuke, “and in a few months, Sarada will be able to sleep in her own room.”

That didn’t make the present any less difficult. Along with being exhausted, Sasuke was taking the lack of intimacy part badly.

However, whenever Sarada would finally fall into a deep slumber, they’d look at her peaceful face and not give a single care for the bags under their eyes or exhaustion wrecking their bodies.

Finally buttoning up the onesie, swaddling her, and laying her down in her bassinet, her parents started to climb into bed themselves before Sasuke turned to Sakura.

“So, do you think she’s asleep?” Sasuke asks tentatively.

“I believe so, she’s breathing rather deeply,” Sakura whispered. “Why do you ask?”

Looking out the bedroom door, Sasuke stood from where he sat on the edge of the bed and motioned for Sakura to follow. As she did, he slowly closed the bedroom door, leaving a small crack so they could hear Sarada should she need them.

“Anata, what is this about?”

Taking Sakura’s hand in his own, Sasuke lead them to the couch and sat down.

“It’s been…difficult for us to find time alone. With Sarada and all,” Sasuke said lowly. He hoped Sakura would pick up on his line of conversation, but from the confused look on her face he knew he’d have to be more specific.

Taking his hand from hers and running it through his hair, he said, “We haven’t had time for us to be close in some time.”

“Be close?” Sakura said, confused. “I’m literally next to you all day long, how much closer can we get?”

Releasing a frustrated sigh, Sasuke looked his wife directly in the eyes. “We haven’t had sex in a month.”

“Oh, has it been that long? Time really is flying now that we have Sarada.” Sakura began rambling before realizing the intent behind Sasuke’s words. Silencing herself, her mouth opened as if to say “oh,” but no words came out.

“Would you want to?” She finally asked, eyebrows raised.

He nodded his head, looking to the side to avoid making eye contact. How could he be so embarrassed to ask such a thing? They were man and wife, after all.

Soon, pecks and soft touches turned into gasps and grunts and clothes falling to the floor. Sasuke was finally laying on his back and Sakura had her hands right where he wanted them when a shrill cry came from the bedroom.

“Kami, that’s not fair!” Sasuke growled exasperatedly. Sakura merely laughed, climbing off of him and picking up her night dress before leaning back over him.

“Don’t go anywhere,” she said in a sultry tone before heading back to Sarada.

It was another sleepless night in the Uchiha house, in more ways than one.
