Chapter Text
They're in the break between the two episodes filming that day, but something doesn't feel right. Rose goes to find Ed as soon as she's wolfed down her sandwich. Usually she'd wait around and chat to the others but really, the only one she wants to chat to isn't here. Their missing link.
She knows Ed is missing her too. When she knocks on his dressing room door, it feels weird not to have two voices calling back at her.
"Hey" she greets him with a kiss, walking in and immediately going for the sofa. She chuckles as she thinks about how normally she'd either have to tip Katy off or literally pick up the other woman and place her back in her arms once she was laying down. Ed sits at the other end of the sofa to her head and flings up her legs, placing them down on his lap. She rolls her eyes at him but any playful distain is soon absolved when he turns his phone screen towards her. Rose's face lights up instantly at the sight of Katy. She still looks poorly which makes her heart ache but she's looking much brighter than when they'd had to rush her to A&E in the night. Rose hadn't wanted to leave her girlfriend's side but the woman had insisted they should both go and film the show. After all, she'd given production enough of a headache having to find a replacement for her.
"See I told you she was fine" Ed gives Rose a look, of course he had also been worried about their girlfriend but had busied himself with the practical things they could do to help. "Don't worry, I'll be okay" Katy said, looking to both of them. Rose worse her heart on her sleeve but she could also tell that Ed had been worrying. She wanted them to still be enjoying the experience even without her there. "Hey, the doctor said I might be out by tonight. My stitches are healing up though being weaned off the morphine was a piece of shit" They both laughed, looking up when a runner came to tell them they were needed back on set. Rose seemed upset at cutting their chat short but Ed gently rubbed her back and kissed her forehead, adding an extra kiss from Katy who requested it before reassuring them both that she'd be back soon
