Day-15 Prompt: Childhood
6-year-old Sasuke was angry at his big brother for tricking him once again in the game of hide and seek. He wanted to learn Shadow Clones from his big brother too but his father said that it was too soon for him to learn the jutsu. Didn't nii-san learn it at his age too?
He was roaming in the forest after his big brother's clone had dissipated away. His nii-san fooled him once again. He fisted his small hands and started walking around. He heard a sniffling noise from somewhere in the forest but it stopped immediately. Sasuke didn't care much about the sound thinking that it was his imagination. But he stopped in his tracks when he heard a broken sob once again.
Sasuke closed his eyes and concentrated in the direction from where he heard the noise. He couldn't sense any chakra. Either the person had an excellent chakra control or was a civilian. His brother had taught him to help whenever someone is in trouble. He finally located the spot from where the sob was coming and started walking towards that direction.
Sasuke saw a little pink-haired girl around his age sitting under the tree with her face covered by knees. He could hear occassional sobs and hiccups from her.
He sat in front of her on his knees and asked her politely, "Hey? Why are you crying?"
The little girl lifted her head and Sasuke saw tears in her big, green eyes. He was always a sucker for green eyes. The people of his clan only had dark eyes similar to his own.
With a soft and scared voice, she whimpered, "Are you going to make fun of me?"
Sasuke adopted a confused expression on his face and muttered a "Huh?"
She pointed her fingers to her forehead and continued, "Won't you tease me about my forehead?"
"Huh, why?"
Sasuke was really confused as to why someone would bully her for her forehead. He would agree that it was a bit larger than average but it wasn't abnormal. Shyly, he also admitted that the girl sitting in front of him was quite cute.
"It is large."
"Pfffttt. You are crying for that? Come with me. My kaa-san will heal you."
Without receiving any affirmation, Sasuke pulled the girl hy her elbow in one swift motion after ignoring her squeak. He looked at her thinking that she would start crying again but she smiled at him shyly.
"Ano, what is your name?"
"Sasuke. Sasuke Uchiha. And you?"
"Sakura Haruno."
It was not difficult for him to understand why she was named so. She had the pinkest hair like the cherry blossom trees his mother had planted in their backyard.
Sasuke soon reached his house in the Uchiha Compound and called out for his mother.
"Oh Sasu-chan, you are back."
"Kaa-san, can you please come here?"
Mikoto came out of the kitchen when her son called her. She saw him standing beside a little girl of his age. She had bruises on her hands. She fiddled with the hem of her green dress and Mikoto resisted herself from cooing at her adorableness.
She looked at her son and asked him, "Who is your friend, Sasuke-chan?"
She was shocked to see that her son was turning into a shade of pink but managed to say coolly, "This is Sakura. I found her in the forest. Can you heal her, kaa-san?"
Mikoto felt pride bubble in her chest as she realized that she had raised a good and caring son. "Oh, um, sure."
After she was healed and her wounds were bandaged, Sasuke, like a gentleman, offered to drop her home but she declined.
"It is fine. Thank you, Sasuke-kun. For everything."
She hugged him tightly and both of them turned red at the contact.
That was how Sasuke Uchiha met his future wife, Sakura.

Wide, inquisitive, blue eyes looked at him with awe as a little girl exclaimed, "Grandpapa, so that is how you met Grandma for the first time?"
Sasuke looked back at his granddaughter who was sitting on his lap. He noticed his 17-year-old grandson listening to his story with rapt attention too.
He smiled at the little girl on his lap. "Yes, Sayuri-chan. That is how I met her."
Sayuri's dark hair, similar to her grandfather's, bobbed up and down in excitement. This motion was so Sakura-like that Sasuke couldn't help but smile. It has been almost 55 years since he had first met his wife but the memory was still clear in his mind.
He was so lost in his thoughts that he didn't see Sakura and Sarada entering the room. He was alerted when his granddaughter bounced down from his lap and shouted, "Mama. Grandma."
He looked at Sarada with a smug smirk on his lips. "Sarada-sama, are you back?"
Sarada shook her head in amusement and giggled. "Papa, don't tease me."
"Sure." Sasuke smiled while thinking about the day when his daughter was given the title of Hachidaime.
He looked at Sarada and his grandchildren with a pleased smile on his face. Sakura noticed him and gave him her own beautiful smile.
Sarada clapped her hands to get the attention of her daughter. Come on, Sayu-chan, Satoshi-kun. Let us go. Papa is waiting for us."
"Okay, Mama." Sayuri said and waved her little hands at her grandparents. "Bye bye, Grandpapa and Grandma."
Sasuke beckoned her closer and poked her forehead which was also a bit larger than average, similar to his wife and his daughter.
Sakura held his wrinkled hand tightly and pulled him inside the house. "Come Anata, it has been a long day."
END.
