Chapter Text

The air hung thick within a small village hidden within the valleys, a storm brewing within the distance brought on a darkened atmosphere shrouded by clouds. Forestry sat quietly still on the outskirts of the village, wind having come to a complete halt. Silence deafeningly loud. The elements were at rest like a moment paused in time, as if all waited and focused on the event within a medium sized wooden bedroom. The birds hushed their chirping, the crickets rested their legs, and the cicadas whom moments before sung their song with such fervor now remained frozen. Even if just for a breathe in time.

Reminding the earth that time had not stood still, a heavy rumbling rolled through with a sharp crackle piercing across the nearly blackened skies; l ighting everything up for miles before touching down against a tree.

"Aahhhhh!!!"

Screams soared through the silence, panting and grunting following on its heels.

"Come on honey, you can do it!" A large muscular man knelt down beside his mate  resting against the edge of their bed. Wiggling her hips, she was becoming desperate for the pain to subside. Fenris pushed in on her hips, rolling with her motions. He rubbed her shoulders and down her back, his deft fingers expertly maneuvering along her figure as he rolled his fingertips, pressed with knuckles, and pushed in his palms; softly speaking words of encouragement and support, praise and love.

His mate screamed again in agony at the pain wracking her body, her abdomen squeezing intensely. Her own fingers dug into the quilt, her claws tearing shreds easily through the fabric, small tufts of white feathers peaked through the ragged material.

Aria turned her head to look at her mate over her shoulder, not missing the worry in his eyes before they met hers and love flooded them. She smiled to him, moving a hand to cup his face, pulling him to her. He rested his chin against her shoulder, soft growls flowing from his throat resembling sounds of a purr. Aria smiled as her body relaxed, kissing him hard as only moments later another contraction flooded her body and she instinctively pushed.

Fenris slipped his arms around her swollen abdomen, feeling the skin and muscles beneath tighten to a degree he knew was hurting her. He wished to a thousand moons that he could take the pain for her.

She whined, grunting through gritted teeth as she felt an immense pressure coursing through her. Shifting against Fenris, her knees slipped down to rest against the ground. Feeling her shifting positions, Fenris sat back on his haunches, his hands slipping away from her belly to her hips. Aria grasped the bed with one of her hands, her face burrowing into the mattress as she growled and cried out, her other arm reached back in a blind and desperate search for his. Seeing the motion, Fenris quickly reached up to her. Grasping him by the wrist, she yanked his hand down between her legs. His brows furrowed in momentary confusion before the pads of his fingers glided across a wet but soft circular head.

Heart swelling within his chest, he instinctively cupped his hands at her opening. He needn't wait long, as seconds later another contraction flowed through her body and she pushed. Before he could fully grasp the situation, his offspring came sliding out to the shoulders. Fenris's eyes stared in awe as he held onto the baby's upper half. Another good push and the baby filled his hands.

Aria slumped against the bed, sighing in relief that it was over. The pain subsiding significantly.

Whimpers and whines filled the room as the tiny bundle resting against Fenris's chest nuzzled around his chest in attempts to search for food. A piercing cry filled the room.

Soft howls begun emitting from the wolves that moments earlier rested quietly around the room and doorway. The sound filled the air and echoed throughout the village, soon every wolf within miles was howling soft into the night. Thanking the goddess for the baby come earth side.

With Fenris's and the pack doctors help, Aria climbed into bed and rested against the pillows. Fenris stood beside her, turning the baby for her to see. Her eyes instantly welled up with tears.

The baby wailed out, covered in white and red and resembled a red potato.

"Its a boy" Fenris spoke softly, gently placing the baby against Aria's chest once she stripped her shirt.

"You did it!" Fenris was swollen with pride, placing soft kisses along her face before leaning down and kissing the baby as he nuzzled against her breast, grunting hungrily.

"What do you want to name him?" Aria smiled tiredly, her eyes full of love.

Fenris looked down at the tufts of red hair that was upon the baby's head, a warm and ever loving smile spreading across his face, showing his fangs.

"How about... "

"Eijirou"
