    “Would you believe me if I said this cafe was the only constant root I have to the city?”

    Natasha studied him carefully, disbelief evident in her eyes. Clearly, that wasn’t the answer she was expecting. He’d caught her off-guard for the second time this evening.

    “I’m not sure I would.”
