“Loki,”
“No,”
“Loki, it’s morning. We have to get up,”
“No,” He said again, his grip tightening. “I’m the god, and I say we stay in bed. Besides, it’s raining.”
“Crime doesn’t stop on account of rain,” You said, trying to move.
Loki’s grip became vice-like. While he wasn’t muscular in the way Thor was, he was strong. He held you in place against him, snuggling into her back. Sighing, you glanced back at him. He opened one sapphire blue eye and grinned.
“Hello gorgeous,” He said.
“Hello, handsome,” You returned. “Explain to me why you’re always like this in the morning.”
“Do you blame me, my love?” He asked. “I wake up, lying next to the most beautiful creature in all of existence, and you think I’d want to get up?”
Loki was heavy on flattery. Of course, he was the God of Lies, so he had to have a way with words. There was a difference between his empty, flowery words and his genuine comments. Yes, they were over the top, but whenever he complimented you, he felt sincere. It was scary at first. Well, scary for you. Relationships were always rocky for a big girl like yourself, and Loki felt out of your league.
Then Thor let it slip that Loki preferred his lovers ‘thicc.’ His words, obviously taking lingo from the various songs he started listening to thanks to Spider-Man.
“Loki, what would you do if I lost weight?”
This caused Loki to bolt up and turn you around.
“Please tell me you haven’t been watching those godawful weight-loss ads,” He said.
“No, I was just curious,” You asked. “Would you like me to lo---”
“Never in a million years,” He replied. “You are perfect. I do not nor need you to change.”
“But----”
“Love,” Loki held your face in his hands. “I love you more than anything on this forsaken rock, and the last thing I want is for you to think you have to be like those vapid Instaflam women who advertise those ridiculous elixirs.”
“Instagram,” You corrected him.
“Whatever,” Loki said. “You’re beautiful. You have the biggest heart of any creature I’ve ever met. Yes, I do love your curves, but it’s not just that. I don’t want you to think you have to change because people think having a few extra pounds isn’t fashionable.”
“It’s not just that,” You said. “I’ve always struggled with confidence issues. It’s sometimes hard being around Natasha and Wanda too. They’re so---”
“Boring? Bland?”
“Loki!” You batted his arm.
“What?” Loki asked. “I know they’re our co-workers and your friends, but they’re nothing special. At least, not in my eyes.”
“So you don’t think I have to lose weight?”
“No, darling,” Loki kissed your forehead. “I’ll love you no matter what size, but I don’t want you to change because you think I’ll love you more.”
“That’s a relief,” You said, leaning against him. “Thank you, Loki.”
“You’re welcome, love,” Loki said, kissing your forehead again. “Now, I say we go back to sleep and let the other Avengers handle today’s affairs.”
“Not happening.”
“So you say, dearest.”
