Chapter Text
It is a truth universally accepted that a combination of alcohol and the nerdiest, most uptight kid in the history of the earth ever is a bad idea. A very bad idea. Especially if said uptight nerd just so happened to be attractive. Extremely so, in fact. Mondo really wished he’d thought this through.
“You so want me,” Kiyotaka’s voice was like velvet, low and menacing. His breath fanned on Mondo’s face as the latter held him up on his feet with two arms on his waist. Kiyotaka’s feet were barely touching the ground because of how tense Mondo’s arms were around him. The inebriated hall monitor took this to his advantage, leaning his full weight on the flustered gang leader as he spoke. “Don’t think I haven’t seen the way you look at me, Mondo-kun. I have you. I have you bad.”
Mondo gulped and struggled to keep his breathing normal under Kiyotaka’s knowing gaze. Just his luck that in a drunk state, he’d be even smarter than he normally was. Music blared from the loud speakers and everyone in various states of inebriation danced around the room while Mondo stood stock still with Kiyotaka in his arms and now that he thought about it he actually had no idea why he’d done that in the first place.
“Think you better go back to your room now, Kiyo,” Mondo spoke calmly but loudly since it was a struggle to be heard from above the loud upbeat music.
Kiyotaka giggled. Apparently what Mondo said had been funny. “Changing the topic now, huh? You’re not getting away from me that easily.”
He giggled some more and planted his lips firmly on Mondo’s. The latter froze all over. His fingers dug into Kiyotaka’s back, pressing him closer and made one sweeping motion with his lips before regaining sense. He released his hold on the hall monitor and took a step back.
“Whoa, man. That was not cool.”
Kiyotaka pouted and damn Mondo to hell if he didn’t think that was the most adorable thing he’d ever seen. “There’s no need to be coy, Mondo. You want it, I want it, so why should we not do it?” His arms were coming up to Mondo’s neck again and the gang leader found it increasingly hard to focus on the matter at hand.
“Because you’re drunk as fuck and you look like shit,” he replied gruffly, praying to whatever god that Kiyotaka would just listen to him, not that he ever had to listen to him before, but he should really do it just this once because Mondo was screwed and it wasn’t fair that the heavens were handing Kiyotaka, the man he’d been longing for so long, to him in this way. It just wasn’t fucking fair.
“You like my butt, though, don’t you?” Kiyotaka said, giggling some more.
Mondo’s face turned beet red and he fidgeted with the collar of his shirt uncomfortably. “Just… Y-you need to sleep, man.”
“Alright, alright!” Kiyotaka turned around and started walking. His knees buckled suddenly and Mondo rushed over to hold him upright again.
Mondo released a defeated sigh as he slung one of Kiyotaka’s arms over his shoulder and proceeded to help him walk in the direction of the dorms. Kiyotaka rambled on about schoolwork or something. God, even when he was drunk he was still a nerd.
When they got to Kiyotaka’s room, Mondo helped him unlace his boots before standing up to take leave. Kiyotaka grabbed his hand to prevent him from going away.
“Stay.”
“Nah, man. You’d punch me to hell and back in the morning if I do that.”
Kiyotaka did the adorable pout again and Mondo sighed. “Just lie down and sleep. Bet you’re exhausted now.”
“I’m not in the least bit tired!”
“Sure, Kiyo. Just sleep. Please.”
“Hmpf! Fine. But I won’t like it.” Kiyotaka settled under his blankets and fell asleep mere seconds after his head hit the pillow.
Mondo rolled his eyes, and though it was crazy for him to do so, he talked anyway just for the heck of it. “Kiyo, I love you and all, but I’m so not gonna invite you to any party ever again.”
