Chapter 1: …it's easy to break.

Chapter Text

"Aaw, do you really need to go?"

"Yes, I'm sorry. Heisenberg must be waiting at home."

"That man-thing doesn't deserve you."

"Donna is right, stay with us!"

"Yes, stay here and let's read and play all day!"

The Dimitrescu girls danced around you, barely letting you take even a step. You looked at them with a gentle smile, you really felt grateful to them for wanting you to stay with them so much. But deep down in your soul you knew the beauty was an illusion. They were nice, but they could be dangerous.

"That's kind of you, I'm honored. But I belong to Lord Heisenberg."

"He's just a man-thing!"

"Yes, he could never make you happy, as we!"

"Let us prove it to you."

You swallowed and stepped back. They were getting too close. A hand stroked your shoulder, your back, and your chin at the same time. A faint blush spread through your face, and you felt your stomach turn into a nervous knot. You needed to get away before they turn you into one of their playthings.

"I-I don't think ..."

"My dear daughters. What is the meaning of this?" Lady Dimitrescu slowly descended on the wide and ornate stairs. "Why are you so loud?" She glanced toward you, just her gaze was enough to create a slight tingling which run down your body. "You already have to go, (Y/N)? What a shame, why don't you stay for the evening? I'm afraid a big storm is approaching soon."

The three girls nodded in agreement and stepped even closer to you.

"Yes, yes stay!"

"Stay with us!"

"And this time we will tell you a story!"

You forced a smile on yourself as you ran your eyes trough the three of them, then stepped back and bowed deeply.

"I'm honored with your kindness and hospitality, but I have to say no. If a storm really comes, I want to hurry home before that. Heisenberg is definitely waiting at home and will scold me if I get soaked."

"Well, in this case, I'll escort you to the gates." She walked down to the four of you and gently stroked the faces of his three daughters. "Don't worry, my daughters, (Y/N) will visit us again, soon." The lady made her way to you, looking deeply in your eyes, her long fingers barely touched your chin. "After all, it's almost their home, too."

You had to swallow before you could answer. "Thank you very much, Lady Dimitrescu. I'm deeply grateful."

"No need to be, my dear." She nodded with a smile, then turned towards her daughters. "Dinner is ready my children, I'll accompany you, after I let our guest out."

The three girls glanced at each other and then nodded.

"Yes, mother. Bye, (Y/N). Have a good trip home!"

"Come as soon as you can, and try not to get eaten on your way home!"

"Next time I'll pick a book!"

You waved after them. "Have a nice evening."

Stepping next to Lady Dimitrescu, you two headed for the east exit of the castle. You could get home to the factory in an hour or so from there. It was a roundabout route, but at least it was not close to the Stronghold.

You hoped Heisenberg wouldn't get too grumpy. If you counted right, you would get back home just in time. Of course, if he even noticed that you were gone. Though you left him a message, or to be more precise messages, to be sure, but you never knew what he was going to notice and when. Sometimes when he sank deep into his work, you felt like he forgot about you for a while.

"Does my brother treat you well?"

The question came unexpectedly and for a few moments you just walked quietly beside the lady. You could feel her penetrating gaze on yourself as you thought.

"I'm not complaining, my lady. I have a roof over my head, I usually cook for ourselves and sometimes I even see Heisenberg when he comes up to get some fresher air." You smiled at her. "I know the relationship between you and Heisenberg isn't without hurdles, but I'm really used to his style." A light blush spread under your eyes and you folded your arms behind you. You could feel the embarrassment filling you, despite the fact that you were only honest.

"Yeah, I think he mostly lives like a caveman." She replied, completely ignoring your last sentence.

These two hated each other it was clear as a day. The last thing you wanted was to get involved in the feud between the two of them. They weren't simple humans, and you knew so damn well what things any of them could do to you. But of the two, if you had to choose, you would have stayed on Heisenberg’s side.

"He's fine, I'm fine there." You have reached the gate opening towards the castle wall. "Well, thank you again for everything, my lady. For the invitation and your kindness too."

"There's nothing to say thanks for. My daughters practically begged me to message you, and I could never say no to them." Her fingers stroked your chin all the way down to your neck.

It felt like a kind gesture, and you tried not to move closer to her hand. You could do a lot of things in the factory, more things than the maidens here, but Heisenberg was never that personal. Instead, he was rough, loud, sometimes aggressive, and somewhat raw. You liked him that way, but sometimes, a simple mortal like you, craved a kind, gentle touch.

"Why don't you stay here with us?" Lady Dimitrescu's voice's softened.

"No...I can't, my lady."

"You can't or don't want to?" Her gaze was chaining you to her. Her fingers drawing tiny circles around your neck.

"I...Heisenberg."

"He doesn't deserve you." She leaned closer to you. There was no question that she was aware her effect on you. "He could never treat you as well as I could."

Your knees started to feel weak.

"He...he...he can too." You had to lick your dry lips. "He can be nice...if...he tries."

"And I can be warm, without trying."

Her hands wrapped around your waist, easily lifting you up.

"My lady?"

"If you want, you can stay. Here. With us. I promise we'll treat you well. And you'll never be lonely."

"I..."

Her arms hold you steady and close. A shiver ran through your body, and you could see the satisfaction in the woman's eyes. You were about to speak again, but she stopped you.

"You can be my lovely pet."

The spell shattered and your head cleared in an instant. You swallowed as you gathered yourself as much as you could. With your eyes closed, you took a deep breath, as the wind rose again pulling at your hair.

You looked at her with a gentle smile after you opened your eyes.

For every bad traits Heisenberg had, you always find a good one too. He listened and taught you, when you asked. And while the House of Dimitrescu was appealing, knowing how many maidens ended up dead or missing, it gave you reason to be more cautious of the Lady and her daughters. You liked the three girls, they were fun and kind, but you knew they could have killed you any time they wanted. Or gods know what other things they were capable of.

"Thank you, but I can't stay here, Lady Dimitrescu. Lord Heisenberg may be a difficult case, but I want to serve him regardless. I belong to him."

She didn't expect that answer. Her usually mysterious smile faltered, as if cracking, her eyes seemed to become sharper, her arms pulled you even closer to herself.

"Mh, as you wish. However, in this case, I hope you understand if I expect something in exchange for our hospitality."

You had to swallow again, as her grip started to tighten around you.

"Yeah, my lady...I understand, of course."

Her smile widened, a hungry light glistening in her eyes. "Good girl."

Before you could say anything, she leaned to your neck. From the hot kiss, a shiver ran down your back, then needle-sharp teeth sunk into your skin. Your body shuddered arched as a painful cry escaped from your throat. Tears began dwell up from your eyes as you bit into your lips. You swallowed back a whimper. You had to shut up, if you are quiet and play along with her than she will let you go. She must. You belong to Heisenberg. But would she care, when she could kill you and throw away your body?

And maybe, he wouldn't even try to find me.

Your heart tightened from the thought. It became harder and harder to breath.

You had no chance to move, the arms held you tight. The only thing you could do was to try not to pay attention to the loud swallows. The pain flared up twice around your neck, then Lady Dimitrescu finally lowered you.

Your legs almost gave up on you, but leaning against the wall, you managed to keep yourself standing. You couldn't let yourself fell to the ground.

"You taste lovely, (Y/N)." She wiped her lips with a cloth, then pressed it to your neck and raised your hand pressing your fingers, and the cloth under it, against the wound "Hold it tight. Don't worry, I've just tasted it so you can still get home...to your caveman. Have a nice night."

"My…lady." You began walking with unstable footsteps. You let your legs carry you on the well traveled road while you were praying that Heisenberg haven’t shut off himself at the lowest levels of the factory.

The cold wind got more violent and grabbed into your hair and coat. At one point under your fingers, the scarf got soaked with your blood. To make it even worse, you waited too long, and the night was drawing at you. And you were even slower because of the bleeding from your neck.

You tried not to think about how much blood you lost. You were tired and you tried to focus on the fact that soon you will be back in your bed. Even Heisenberg's grumbling wouldn’t have bothered you, you just wanted to get home.

Get home, get in a bed, he can even yell as much as he wants after that. The Stronghold was already way behind you, you always went home on a detour. You also had a gun you got from Heisenberg, although, he himself admitted that you wouldn’t have much of a chance against a team of lycans. Still a bullet could free you from your suffering if you get cornered.

You had to stop to lean against a tree.

"Fuck…come on, I need to get home." Sweat clung to your back, and the cold air made it felt like ice stuck to your skin. You forced your feet to move, they felt like lead, but they stepped forward. You were close, yet the knowledge that you were getting closer just made you even more exhausted. But if you collapse now, Heisenberg would never find you.

Maybe he wouldn’t even look, whispered a tiny voice deep in your thoughts, a voice that was very similar to Lady Dimitrescu.

"Shut up." You said and went on.

A huge weight lifted from your heart when the barbed wire fence of the factory finally appeared in your sight. You felt dizzy, but you made it home. Maybe she really just tasted you. Although in a woman almost 9 feet tall, that could have meant half the blood in your body.

You were heavily panting on the last few meters. When you opened the door to the barn you had to lean against the wall, your fingers felt the gnarled planks, between them you could feel a slight draft coming from outside.

You made it. You were safe.

You haven't taken your cramping arm off your neck yet. All you had to do was get to the elevator, then just four levels down and you could finally be in your room. You couldn’t be bothered about Heisenberg for now.

And you couldn’t imagine how wrong you were about that.

Made your way to the door of the elevator, you easily opened the metal door, but when you tried to enter it, the door simply slammed in front of you. It almost made you jump. That was when you felt the figure behind you.

"Heisenberg, I was invited to Dimitrescu Castle to read to the daughters." The man read out loudly one of the note you wrote. His metal hammer rested on his shoulder. "I'm here by sunset. (Y/N)." With that, he glanced out the tiny window. "Are you wandered off? Or did you lose your way home?"

"Good evening, Heisenberg." With a tired smile, you lowered your trembling arm as you turned toward shim. The bloody scarf slipped out from your tired fingers. "Yeah, sorry, I tried to but-"

Stepping in front of you, he grabbed your face and tilted your head aside.

"Did she do this to you?" He growled.

"Yeah, it hurt like hell." You tried to look at him from the corner of your eye.

"Why did you let her?"

You laughed, but as his grip on your chin became tighter, your sudden good mood vanished. "You're joking, right?"

"Do I look like I'm joking?" He turned his face toward you. You could clearly make out the anger in his gaze. "Why did you let her to eat from you?"

You pushed his hand away with some effort.

"What are you talking about? You do KNOW her, right? Do you think I would have had any chance to resist?"

"Right. That's why you have your clothes in one piece. And that’s why she let you go home. Alive!" Objects trembled inside the barn, bolts loosened, or began to rise from the floor.

He was angry for something you couldn't even prevent for the first place. It was not fair, and you started to become annoyed. Your exhaustion was washed away by a wave of adrenalin.

"What do you want from me?! Are you telling me that I should be dead just because she wanted to bite me?! You think I enjoyed it?"

"Well? Did you?"

"What do you think you stupid fucking idiot?! You think I would come back here if I'd enjoy being bitten and being used every fucking day of my life?" You couldn't understand what was going on. Why is he questioning you? Why is HE looking at you with angry yet hurt eyes? Why can't he trust you?

"I don't know." He shrugged. "All I know is that you started to visit those fucking bugs more often. First you were only there for a morning, then half a day. In the past you always bothered to tell me you are going, now you only lave notes. Maybe you like being a toy for them. Or maybe you would actually want to be their pet. "

The sudden surprise from the slap made him step back.

You lowered your burning palm. "I don't care what's in your psychotic and paranoid imagination." You had to focus with every bit of your being to stop yourself from trembling. "But don't you fucking dare call me a pet ever again."

"You shouldn't have done that." His voice was flat.

"What?"

Stepping beside you, he began walking towards the door leading down to the deeper parts of the factory. Next to your head, you could clearly hear the hammer vibrating, ready to strike at any moment.

Your body jerked and you yelped in surprise, for the second time today. Metal objects flew past you and nicked your skin in several places. One cut ran down your face, one wounded your calf, tearing into your skin, and a few small cuts ran down your arms.

"Put yourself in order. And tomorrow you can go where you want."

You could still hear the slam of the closing door in your ears for long minutes after he left. Exhaustion and pain flooded your body at the same time. Your feet finally gave up.

"But... I... Heisenberg…" You hid your face in your hands. Tears began to flow dripping down on your face. Your whole body trembled as you started to cry.

You were tired, so god damn tired. And you felt heartbroken. It didn't make any sense, but it didn't need to, to hurt like hell.

Over and over again, you tried to figure out what had happened, but in the end it all mixed into a meaningless jumble. He abandoned you, and he will kick you out.

You hiccupped from crying, and your breathing became erratic. You knew it was a mistake to hit him. When your hand touched his face you've already regretted it. But you couldn't control your anger.

It wasn't fair. He wasn't fair.

You rubbed your face into your arms, your stomach tightened with a stronger hiccup. Adrenaline fled from your body, letting fatigue take its place.

All you wanted was to forget this day, and sleep, but your wounds wouldn't let you. At the very least you had to treat them. You pushed yourself up with great difficulty to your feet. You walked to the door through which Heisenberg had left. You tried to pull it open, but it wouldn't budge. It was jammed. Maybe, he slammed it with too much power. Maybe, he didn't want to let you go back.

Another wave of tears flooded your face.

At this point you felt as if you were stuck in a nightmare. You didn't know when it would end, and all you could do was just to try and wait it out.

You started to look around the barn. Searching all the drawers and closets, you came across a piece of dirty gauze in the depths of an old medicine box. Compared to how your day want, it could be counted as a win.

Now you just had to make sure to take care of yourself for the rest of the night.

Outside, rain began to fall, and from the distance, you could hear the howl of the lycans.
