Chapter Text
Kai’s pov
A soft pink hue…
A mixture of blue and yellow clouds…
a soft breeze pushing waves upon the sand and red coral…
the expansion of an ocean that stretches as wide as the eye can see.
The smell of saltwater dampens the wind as it blows through hair, entangling it like fingers gently brushing the strands aside.
The sun is rising over the horizon, and me...
I get to look at all of it.
He’s beautiful…
the ocean… I mean.
most people tell me I should call it she, but I never listen, cause when the ocean speaks, he tells me he’s a boy.
The ocean to me, he seems like he’d be a boy, a moody one, but also who loves to dance and sing.
The ocean is both exciting and unsettling, he seems as if he can't make up his mind, one day he’s rough and unrefined passion bursting and dancing as each wave hits the shore the mist dancing in circles to his beat.
But on other days, ones that are warm, where the sun shines brightly off the water and the wind is calm, he sings and dances softly, he smiling and laughing, that’s when he’s most beautiful.
Then there are the stormy nights, when the rain engulfs him. where his temper has been tested, he yells in a rage, his tide crashing into land… he’s angry, no dancing or singing, just yelling as the winds shake the windows of houses and roofs, and there’s nothing to soothe him. I wish I can soothe him.
But I save those, soothing words for the times there is no storm and he’s calm, but the sky is gray and the rain falls almost quietly, those nights I know he’s sad, he’s lonely and I… sit on the sand and comfort him.
I wish… I could protect him
I’d hold him till his fears fall away
If he was…well a boy I mean.
He’d be my sea.
