Work Text:

John knew that learning was important, and he’d never stop to do it. Even when he was in Afghanistan or Iraq it was not different. He learn everything anyone care to teach him, and he did teach others first aid, or anything he knew that could help another.

John knew how to trough knifes, but also how to play poker and win, to make origami, some Tae Kwon Do, boxing and a couple of several things from his fellow officers and men in his deployments. You never know when something would become in handy.

So there he was with an unconscious Sherlock kidnaped again. He was blindfolded and his hands bonded roughly in a really chili room. How he knew Sherlock was with him, because he was a top of him, with that soft curls on his neck were unmistakable. He tried to call him up but Sherlock didn’t stir. That wasn’t good news, John didn’t know their location, and how much time they get before the thugs that kidnapped them would comeback. So he probe his bindings and found out they were really tight so no use for now. He gently separated himself from Sherlock and left him with only a tug to the ground, this didn’t make Sherlock wake up, but John knew he was alive still.

John balanced himself into stand up position with difficulty and try to find out about his surroundings. He walked very slowly till he hit the wall? And he put his back to it was rough to the tact and he try to rub with force the rope with the imperfections of the wall while trying to find a door. He felt the wetness of some blood from his hands and the sting, but also how the rope was giving up, after sometime he was able to broke free and take away the blindfold.

The room was dark because it had minimal light of the day coming from the failures of the roof, no windows and no nothing except for the heavy door and some wooden boxes in the back. Sherlock was in the center and he was restricted as John was just moments ago. John tried the door, it was closed and the door hinges were big.

He went to check on Sherlock and freed him. Sherlock had been drugged, but he was fine, so John put him on his side, just in case of vomit, he banded his injured hands with the cloths of the blindfolds and went to check the boxes.

The boxes were filled with costumes with glitter and spandex for male and female performers in a cabaret act, but one posh cabaret act.

John decided to close his eyes and heard about his surroundings. There were a lot of noise, band noise, singers, and musicians. They were in some sort of theater or circus.

John had a revelation; if he found how to get out of the room he would take them away from the place none the wiser. Learning was brilliant!

Really the most complicated part after all was changing Sherlock clothes while unconscious. Girls’ high heels are really useful with hinges.

Sherlock finally wake up after some slapping and they find their way into the back stage.

“So, you are the new act?” said the manager. Sherlock and John responded in affirmative.
“What do you need?” They expressed it.

“Ok, go to the B room and get it, you enter in 10 minutes, I’m happy that you turned that fast because without ‘The Fleurs ‘we had a serious void in the schedule. Move on.”

John and Sherlock went to get their tools and went to the stage.

“John what exactly are we doing?” Sherlock looked at John who was unappalled with the situation, making Sherlock uncomfortable.

“Getting out in a very dramatic way. I would think you’d love that!” Sherlock rolled his eyes.

“Really John, but as the place is full of gangsters I have to give you that I can’t see another way. Do you really know what to do?” Sherlock looked worriedly, because he knew to act undercover, but John was very transparent and he didn’t know if he could possibly do something like this.

“Since I was who planned the gig I think I can deliver Sherlock, can you?” John looked at him daringly. And received another eye’s roll from his friend.

“I take the pole, you take the dance and the singing, that’s it?” Sherlock knew the basic because a case some years ago, it was really not so difficult.

“Yes that’s exactly it.” Said John with and smirk.

The curtain opened and found Sherlock in a body tight with Celtic motif and face painted as well as a Pict with kajal and glitter. John wears a fishnet top and leggings, with a leather jacket and a tartan with blue and red tones; and his face had also Pict painting, kajal and glitter. Sherlock wonder when and where John had acquired all that glitter exactly.

They vowed to the audience and the music started, Sherlock started making pirouettes at the music beats in the pole and John took the guitar he had asked for and started singing and playing, while Sherlock dancing along and around the pole. John Looked at Sherlock form when had the opportunity.

In some point John take out his jacket and trough it to the public, he jumped from the stage and started to sing around the tables and let the women and some men to touch his muscled arms and a woman even gave him a slap in the arse, he only smirked at her and then jumped back to the stage again.

Sherlock didn’t believe it, really this was his John? Like sensing his astonishment, John came back near the pole and take Sherlock out of the pole and into a very heated and close dance, Sherlock was really tempted to do something to him, what, he didn’t know, but he wanted to know.

John took his hand abruptly and they jumped off the stage and did a runner for it out of the club.

It was no effort to find a cab and John had more than enough money in his tartan, earned in his early efforts, so even if the cabby wasn’t too confident on take them as they were outfitted, he saw the money and he didn’t ask more questions except the destination.

John and Sherlock stayed holding hands all the way to 221B.
