Chapter Text

Chapter 1: Second Chances

"Percy, I have to go. You can go wherever you want, you have total freedom, all you have to do is be in the dining room for dinner tonight ”My father said while he smiled at me.

"Okay, Dad," I said smiling and watched as he walked down the hall. All right, I had the afternoon free. I could do whatever I wanted, the problem was that I didn't know what to do. After thinking about it for a few moments, I decided to wander around the palace without going to a specific destination. I walked through the palace and observed everything, I saw gardens, offices, rooms, and much more. I walked a little more and found the garden that I went to with Amphitrite, and I could not avoid entering, since something caught my attention about that place. Once inside the garden I observed everything for a while while I lost myself in my thoughts until in a moment I heard someone clearing my throat behind me, I turned quickly and I saw Triton looking at me from a bench, I swallowed and tried to smile. It was well known that Triton hated me.

"Hello. I hadn't realized you were here. I can go ”I said nervously.

Triton smiled at me and gestured for me to sit next to him. Once I sat down he turned to look at me.

"Hello, little brother" I turned to look at him surprised.

"Little brother?"

“Yes, little brother. You are younger than me for MANY years ”He said amused and challenging me with his eyes so that I did not contradict him.

"You are right"

"Mmmm" He changed the expression on his face and looked at me thoughtfully, after a few moments he looked at me seriously. "Sorry"

I looked at him confused. "Why do you apologize?"

Triton scowled at me, but I could see regret in his eyes. "Because of how I treated you in the past"

Hearing it I couldn't help but smile. “You have nothing to apologize for. All that is in the past "

Triton smiled at me and nodded. "I told my mother the same thing, but she insisted that you need to hear the apologies"

I looked at him amused and shook my head. "Did you just ask me for forgiveness for your mother? I can not believe it"

Triton arched an eyebrow and nudged me with his shoulder. "You just said I didn't owe you an apology, now you can't tell me anything"

"I just commented." I looked at him thoughtfully. "I have an idea."

I turned to look at Triton, who waited a few moments in silence until he arched an eyebrow.

"Are you going to tell me your idea or am I going to have to guess?"

I chuckled and offered him my hand. Hi, I'm Percy Jackson. I am your brother"

Triton looked at me confused but shook my hand. "Mmm, did I already know? We already know each other, or have you forgotten? "

I put my hand to my face and shook my head. “It's called starting over, without thinking about the past. This way none of us have to apologize "

Triton looked at me for a few moments and then grinned widely as he nodded. “In that case hello, I'm Triton. I am your older brother, and you, dear little brother, are going to be my faithful henchman in all the jokes that I am going to make in the future "

I turned around and looked at him smiling. "What? Henchman? I'm not anyone's henchman, if you want me to joke with you, I agree to be your second in command "

Triton looked at me thoughtfully but he nodded. “Very good, you are now my second in command, and now we are going to be in charge of bringing chaos to Atlantis. What do you think about the idea?"

I smile broadly at him. "Sounds like the best idea ever!"

Triton smiled at me and got up from the bench, then offered his hand to me and helped me up. "Come on, I have a lot to show you."

From that day on, Triton and I became inseparable.
