Work Text:
“Hey! It’s the rising Pro!” Kirishima cheers as Izuku walks through the doors and smiles at his friends from high school.
They’ve all been trying their hardest to be great pro heroes and all of them are in the top 100 but they all think Izuku will get to the top ten sooner than the rest.
“Hello, everyone.” He smiles and waves as he gets seated in between Todoroki and Uraraka.
Everyone but Izuku knows about her crush on him since their days in UA. She still hasn’t gotten over it as they hit their 23rd birthdays.
But no one knows how Izuku is still hung over this guy… and the fact that he’s gay.
“Let’s get some shots!” Ashido cheers. Her boyfriend, Kirishima, gets up to assist.
“So what’s up?” Uraraka pokes Izuku’s arm.
“Not much. I did have to stop a robbery earlier.” Izuku shrugs.
“Yes, I witnessed that on the television earlier.” Iida comments as he adjusts his glasses.
“It was a little difficult because of his quirk. He could make-” Izuku was about to get into rambling and mumbling about the villain but abruptly stopped as he heard a very familiar but slightly different laugh he hadn't heard in years.
“Is everything okay, Midoriya?” Todoroki asks, confused as to why he stopped what was about to be a lot of his normal mumbling for the young hero.
“I… I know that laugh.” He heard it again and whipped his head around to find the face. The face of Katsuki Bakugou. Kacchan.
The blonde catches his eyes and immediately shuts up.
They stare at each other for a couple seconds before the Katsuki whispers to a man with brown and red hair before getting up.
He walks towards Izuku who quickly stands up.
“K-Kacchan?” Izuku utters in disbelief as he stares at the blonde man who wears nice black pants, white shirt with the buttons undone at the top, a black suit, and a red tie.
“Hey Midoriya.” Katsuki smiles. An actual, genuine smile. Towards Izuku .
“No way. I can’t believe it’s you! Where’d you go? Are you okay? How are your parents? Do you live nearby? Do you-” He stops at the sound of a husky chuckle.
“You're the same as always. Let’s speak somewhere more… private. Let’s catch up.” Katsuki suggests and eyes Izuku’s companions.
“You guys don’t mind if I take your nerdy hero for a while, do you?” Katsuki raises an eyebrow at the silent group before Uraraka stands up.
“And who are you?” She asks accusingly.
“Sorry guys. Let’s do this again some other time.” Izuku quickly grabs his stuff.
“Ready? I got a car outside, let’s go.” Izuku quickly nods and follows Katsuki outside.
(O.O)
“Did- Did that seriously just happen?” Kaminari questions.
“Who was that hottie?” Ashido snickers.
“He just left?” Uraraka huffs.
“I’m sure he’ll be fine. He’s a pro after all.” Kirishima tries to calm her.
“I agree with Kirishima. Let’s just tell him to contact one of us later.” Iida suggests.
(O.O)
The car ride was quiet and fast as soft classical music played.
“This is one of my bases.” Katsuki opens the door and leads Izuku towards the door of what looked like a clothing store.
“Welcome back Dynamight.” A young girl with her black hair tied up into a high ponytail quickly makes it to his side.
“Close the shop early and leave us alone in the black room with an Angels of Envy.” He orders and she nods quickly before setting out to do as she was told.
“Let’s go.” Katsuki grunts and they enter a completely black room.
The room didn’t have windows or any other lighting than the candles set up on the table set for two. The table was round and had a file open to which Katsuki shut and placed underneath his chair before sitting and gesturing Izuku towards the other one across from him.
“Can I start off by apologizing?” Katsuki questions quietly and doesn’t seem to meet Izuku’s eyes.
Izuku reaches over the table to grab his hand.
“The past is the past. I forgive you.”
“But I was such an ass and I’ve gone to therapy and I tried making other things right before finally seeing you again. How’s… how’s Eri?” Katsuki holds his hand back.
“That was you?” Izuku asks in disbelief.
“Yeah. Found out what Chisaki was doing and I stopped it. I left Eri in front of UA knowing you were there.” Katsuki sighed.
“I guess I should tell you everything. My parents weren’t just fashion designers but vigilantes, Mafia leaders if you will. I never saw them much which angered me to no end, so I wanted the exact opposite, to become a hero. Then I acted like a dick growing up. Because of my quirk I started going deaf, hard of hearing. Then I just disappeared.” Katsuki taps his ear.
“I thought because of everything, I wouldn’t achieve my dream of becoming a hero. But after therapy and shadowing my parents I found out I didn’t need to be a hero in the spotlight to save people.”
Katsuki smiles a little.
“I was really happy to hear about you getting into UA. But I didn’t feel that way at first.” Katsuki rolls his eyes.
“I haven’t told anyone.” Izuku began.
“My quirk was passed on to me by All Might.” Izuku goes on to explain more.
They talk all night about memories and work they’ve done, and share secrets. That was the first time Izuku was actually open and felt like he could talk about anything, guilt, pleasure, All Might. Anything and everything.
Izuku was ecstatic to hear about Katsuki and turns out even though he never knew where the blonde was, the blonde always knew about Izuku.
“Well it’s late. I should get you home. Let’s meet up again some other time?” Katsuki scribbles his number on a napkin and hands it to the hero.
“Yes of course.” Izuku smiles brightly, the same smile as when they were children and always manages to melt Katsuki’s heart.
