Nurani runs off as fast as they can with their crutch, flushed red down to their shoulders. When they think they’ve run far enough, they lean on the closest wall and cover their bright face.
“I can’t believe I did that!”' they whine, thinking back to the feeling of Klahan’s warm form against theirs as they hug her, and looking up to her soft, smiling, beautiful face. They remember the feeling of her cheek on their lips and let out another embarrassed noise. “Shit, I hope I didn’t ruin this...” they mutter, blinking hard, and rubbing their eyes. They don’t know if Klahan would think about them like they think about her, and that kiss probably gave her a bigger hint than anything else they have been doing thus far.
Nurani sighs again and sinks down on the wall. They lean their head on their knee, groaning inwardly. “She was just being nice, we are friends, friends worry about each other,” they grumble to themselves. “Shit... How is she so pretty…?”
They continue to mutter and grumble to themselves about how out of their league Klahan is as Kelinci comes up and knocks them over.
Nurani yelps and looks over to Linci. “What? What took you so long?” they ask in a soft mutter.
Linci grumbles and headbutts them as they try to sit up. She gives Nurani a look that shows she’s proud of them. Nurani drops their shoulders in a sigh. “Don’t look so satisfied. I might have just ruined things,” they mutter and rub their eyes again.
Linci growls at them and rolls her eyes.
“What?? You saw her when I left, was she annoyed?? Or just didn’t think anything of the kiss??” Nurani asks hurriedly, worry showing on their face as they look at their serlot friend.
Linci just purrs and nuzzles them.
“I wish you could talk to me…” Nurani says softly. They huff, “I just look crazy talking to you.”
“Meowwwwww.”
Nurani groans and leans their head back against the wall behind them. "I guess we should get back home, Gran's probably worried..." they say, feeling tired. After the events of the last month they haven't been sleeping well and it shows. Dark circles and bags under their eyes and a slump in their posture denote a lack of restful slumber. But now that they don't have to worry so much, having evidence that their parents have not been in Fang and the person following Nurani dealt with, they can finally relax and take a well earned rest.
They huff and use the wall to get up, ruffling Lincis head when she moves to be their crutch. "You always help me out, huh, you're like a wingman or something," Nurani says and gasps. "A wingcat!!” they say loudly and look to Kelinci to see her reaction. As they do, Kelinci bumps them and growls, clearly not finding it as clever as Nurani does.
Nurani pouts at her and grumbles as they continue their walk home, much more lonely than they had been in a while, since the others deemed it was safe again.
The loneliness seeps into their chest as they realize that they already miss having Klahan at their side on their way home. Nurani walks the rest of the way in silence.
"Linci.. do you think she'll want to stay near me now that I'm safe?” Nurani mutters, not really expecting a response from their Serlot, other than a meow and her bumping their hip. "What if I.." They take a shaky breath. "What if she doesn't want me…?" they say, blinking hard to keep tears from falling, Linci nuzzles more into Nurani trying to comfort them as best she can.
They grumble and rub at their face, trying to not show that they cried a little, to not concern their gran once they see her at their house.
Once inside they greet their grandmother and have a normal, but slightly quiet rest of the evening until they go to bed. They find their rest nuzzled into the fur of Lincis neck. "Thanks for being there for me, Linci," they mutter and close their eyes, slowly drifting off to sleep. And for the first time in a while they dream about something other than their parents. Klahan shows up in their dream, and it's not unpleasant at all...
