Summary
The year is 1918. The Great War rages. Man can fly. Wendy Darling is dying of the Spanish Flu. When Peter Pan, the hero from her storybooks, appears in her room in the middle of the night with an offer to join him as one of his Lost Boys, she doesn't refuse.
Now, the year is 1922 and Wendy can barely recognize herself. Peter Pan--and Neverland, for that matter--is nothing like she had expected. Lost Boys kill and die and disappear. Pirates show no mercy. Peter Pan can barely recall her name, is oblivious to her every move, and leaves her unsure whether she should wish that she was just one of the Lost Boys or that he would finally see her as more than that. And more than that, he's been missing for the past month.
When Peter finally returns to Neverland, he is a different boy, crazed and unsure. Wendy can hardly refuse when he begs her to go to London with him. There, she discovers a dying duke who calls Peter by the name of David and invites the two to live with him. Wendy is whisked away to the world of the British Parliament in the glittering 1920's, world of luxury and dark secrets that will make her wish she never followed Peter all those years ago...
