Work Text:
The sun is sickeningly bright today. Koko quickly concludes first thing in the morning when the sun nearly blinds him even before his schedule does. He sends a big fuck you to the him of yesterday who forgot to close his blinds. Grumbling, he makes a beeline straight to the kitchen to prepare his usual coffee drip to sate his disturbingly high caffeine intake, as much as Kakucho always nagged on like a mother about how much caffeine isn't good for him, it was the only thing keeping him from crashing and burning an hour into his schedule. If he ever needed surgery for the repercussions of surpassing the recommended amount of daily caffeine intake he had the money for it.
The sun still shines without any mercy onto the mansion Koko owns in the middle of Tokyo. Honeycomb yellow pouring onto the newly waxed floorboards and honestly, reminding Koko of nothing but Inupi’s luscious and gorgeous strawberry blonde which falls gently onto his shoulders and looks far too silky to be real.
Even with the AC on, the natural warmth from the sun can be felt miles away and Koko wants nothing more than to wrap himself in that gentle warmth which once again, reminds him of the days when it was just him and Inupi cuddling up to each other for that unique warmth which the other just had and couldn't be found anywhere else. But alas, he had work to do. Fuck Bonten. God Damn it, all he wanted to do in life was to be able to earn big bucks with Inupi by his side but he only got one of it and now his life feels like a complete joke because he had managed to satiate his materialistic desires just to end up with spiritual conflict. God really said pick a struggle.
The smell of fresh coffee permeates through the kitchen lighting up Koko’s mood. Nothing like a cup of coffee to brighten up the day. He walked over to the cabinet to fetch a 100 yen cup which sat very out of place among the other high end cups and smiled as he poured the coffee in.
He slowly made his way to the living room which had a very out of place blue cushion smacked right in the middle of the L-shaped couch and Koko went straight for it. Taking in the rich aroma of the coffee and blowing out. He switched on his TV and punched in a special channel. The next thing which showed up on the television was the image of a room with a familiar blonde sleeping on the bed.
‘He's still sleeping.’ Koko grins. He takes another sip from the 100 yen cup and sets it down next to a dozen pictures of Inupi while he is working. Koko glances at the blue cushion pillow and burrows his face into it, inhaling a deep breath.
“Inupi’s scent is gone.” he sighs. Guess it's time to swop it out again, maybe he should snatch another towel this time round. “Inupi~!” He groans out and flops onto the couch. Even after replacing more than half of the things in his house with Inupi’s stuff it still didn't fill the void in Koko’s heart. He wanted the real Inupi next to him. But of course everyone from Bonten said no because you can't just let someone who isnt in Bonten stay in the same house as you and look at confidential papers. Just say your jealous of him and Inupi having a stable and normal relationship and kindly fuck off.
He shifts his attention back to the television. Inupi is still lying asleep in his bed as he should be when it's such an early weekend. And spots something. He sits back up straight and zooms into a heel catalogue which had been opened a bit too wide for anyone's liking. An especially eye-catching heel highlighted in red marker out of Inupi’s budget from the latest collection of CHANEL. A writing of [in exchange for my black striped jacket] written on a sticky pad. Koko can only stick out his tongue at the blatant exchange which was forced onto him.
His phone alarm rings, the smooth sound of Inupi’s voice saying Koko on loop. It's time for work. He lets the alarm continue to ring on as he drinks the last drop of still warm coffee in his cup and places it into his sink. Turning on his phone to be greeted by the side profile of Inupi when he was still in Black Dragon together with Koko, clicking on the alarm icon to turn off the snoozed alarm and opening up his notes to remind him to order the CHANEL heels for Inupi, not that it would ever slip off his mind.
Koko stretches his arms as he finally gets ready to leave his safe haven taking a final glance at Inupi’s slumbering figure on the tv before pressing the off button. Even after twelve years, everything around me reminds me of you Inupi. Koko smiles as he exits the door.
Even with the great distance between the both of them, Koko could still feel Inupi’s presence like in the old days. Every small little thing reminded him of Inupi, from the shoes he wore to the food he ate. Every single part of the world screamed Inupi! to Koko and that made the world worth living in.
EXTRA
Sanzu could only cringe at Koko as he was subjected to listening to the voice of the one known as Inui repeating Koko’s name on loop. Honestly, what a great fucking idea. If only he could somehow get Mikey to call him while not noticing Sanzu recording on his phone for a HD version of it.
The job today only required the both of them which meant only one of them needed to bring a car to keep things low key. As much as they prided themselves in being extroverts, there were just some people they couldn't handle. Examples in hand would be people who were too similar to themselves.
“Can you turn off your alarm? Honestly, It's disturbing.”
Koko's expression darkened as he kept his eyes on the road.
“It's just for another twenty seconds. Deal with it.”
“That's what you said three minutes ago before the same alarm started to ring again!”
Koko clicked his tongue.
“It’s not the same alarm dumbass. This one was from when Inupi turned 20.”
Sanzu couldn't help but cringe harder.
What the fuck this person needs to see a doctor.
