Work Text:
“Oh so you’ve moved from stealing my hoodies to stealing my clothes now too?”
“It feels like you’re hugging me.” Kevin replied, pullin the garment tighter around himself. He loved the feeling of Charles’ jacket around him. Charles didn’t even know that Kevin was also wearing his underwear. It was warmer and felt nicer than his own even though they had the same brand and the only difference was the design and the fact that Charles had worn them.
“Although that’s cute, I wear that to work, Kevin.” His voice was so caring and loving, which only made Kevin more reluctant to give the jacket back. Charles had moved over to kiss his head, hands sliding under his jacket and retrieving it from the smaller man.
“I’m just going to steal your hoodie when you leave.” Kevin mumbled, catching Charles in his arms to stop him from standing. Their noses almost touched as he leant up, trying to give Charles another kiss. Their lips didn’t quite meet and Kevin found himself letting out a small, unhappy noise in return.
“You can wear my hoodie today.” Charles hummed, lowering into Kevin’s lips. His hand raised to cup Kevin’s cheek and strokes along his eye socket with his thumb. Charles knew how much Kevin loved that small gesture, Charles showing him that he didn’t care about his scars or his past. Charles only cared about him.
When the kiss broke, Charles went to pick up his keys ready to leave for work. Kevin’s eyes followed him. Kevin coughed hard, his chest burning, but he waved the concerned look that Charles gave him away. Then it was a sneeze.
“Kevin, are you feeling alright?”
“As right as su-... sun-...” He sneezed again, grabbing a tissue to cover his nose. He didn’t want Charles to worry. He hadn’t been sick in so long, why now? “As right as sunshine.”
“I can call in sick if you need me here to take care of you.”
“No! No.” Kevin started, coughing into the tissue again, “Work is important! I can’t drag you away just for a little cold, Charles.”
“Well, it’s likely that you’ve made me sick too. After all, kissing passes things on.”
“Oh, I hope not. That’s not a happy thought!”
“Plus, if I stay home, you can snuggle in my jacket.”
Kevin paused, staring at him. He raised an eyebrow as if to question this. If Charles was serious, that might just convince him to stay home. He would still need to do the broadcast but… He could do it snuggled next to his love. No one could stop them, Strex wasn’t here to be angry at them. Charles had started grinning, taking off his jacket and wrapping it back around Kevin’s shoulders.
“Chicken noodle soup?”
“Yes please.”
“Me too, daddy.” Donny said from the stairs, sniffling. He was still in his pyjamas. Normally he’d stay with Grandma Josephine on Saturdays while Charles was teaching his weekend classes but today they could all snuggle. Donovan crawled under Charles’ jacket, snuggling up to Kevin and soon enough Charles was snuggling too, each of them with a warm bowl of soup.
