"Stay here with me."
Rangi whispered, a faint smile on her lips. She shuddered, and her hand fell before she could touch the Avatar one last time.
...
Rangi awoke with a start.
Her hand flew up to cover her eyes from the blinding sun's rays. Rangi took in a few soothing breaths allowing herself to relax ‘Just a dream,' she audibly sighed moving her hand up to rest against her forehead to block out the sun rays streaming in from the gaps in the curtains. Rangi’s eyes wandered to the huge figure sleeping beside her.
Kyoshi was soundly sleeping oblivious to the situation. One of her arms was lazily draped around Rangi’s waist while the other rested under her pillow supporting her head. Her legs tangled in Rangis allowed her for closer contact as she snuggled into her small girls side with little distance between them.
Rangi turned in her bundle of warmth to rest her hand against the cool sheets covering her wife's naked body. With a gentle smile, she leaned in, pressing a delicate kiss to her sleeping girl's lips.
Kyoshi eyes cracked open slightly, letting in the sun rays before falling closed again. She whined softly, turning on her back," a few more minutes.”
She slurred softly before falling back into slumber.
Rangi chuckled following on top her wife. She pressed herself against Kyoshi, resting her chin atop her folded arms. They fit together like two puzzle pieces forming to create a whole. Rangi shifted to place her hand against her wife's cheek, rubbing gently at her delicate freckled skin.
Kyoshi tried hard to ignore the inviting sensation but alas she failed and opened her eyes grogily to the little sun atop her. Kyoshi blinked a few times to clear the sleep from her eyes but it was to no avail, her vision was still blurry so she just closed her eyes once more.
"Here, let me help."Rangi chuckled gently, rubbing her girl's eyelids with her thumb. Kyoshi hummed as her eyes opened again to stare up into bronze ones. Her heart skipped a beat as the honeyed eyed girl moved down once again to capture her lips in a sweet kiss. Kyoshi came undone in Rangi’s arms. Her hand made its way up her wife's toned bare back to rest against her soft black hair. Kyoshi’s other arm rested against Rangi’s waist wrapping her in a gentle hug.
Rangi pulled away breathlessly. A coy smile played against her lips, "Rise and shine baby"
A lopsided grin split Kyoshis face."Never!" She shouted loudly in defiance, pushing Rangi off of her to turn onto her stomach covers, pooling around her waist." She buried her face in her arms with a smile.
Rangi looked down with betrayal in her eyes. She pouted softly, bringing a hand up to cover the laugh bubbling up, threatening to spill over at any second. She sucked in a breath regaining composure while clutching the sheets tightly against her chest before chiding softly, "Then I guess you get no afternoon kisses.”
Kyoshi’s head shot up mouth wide open "what!?" She shouted in dismay, causing Rangi to break. She collapsed in a pile of mirth. Her small frame shook with laughter at her wife's outburst.
Kyoshi with a look of betrayal tackled Rangi to the bed and began tickling her with a sinister grin stretched across her face, "You married me, you gotta deal with it!"She blew raspberry, as her wife's small frame twisted in her arms." Rangis sweet laugh filled Kyoshi’s ears like music.
"Kyoshi stop!"Rangi, weakly wheezed with a cry as she slapped her dumb girl's arm." That weak attempt only fueled Kyoshi more and she continued her torture immune to Rangi’s pleading cries.
Moments had passed before Kyoshi let Rangi catch her breath. Kyoshi herself was tired from all the wrestling and collapsed back onto the bed in a heap. The covers were tangled between the two of them but she didn't bother to fix them. She closed her eyes with a grin and a content sigh.
Rangi having finally caught her breath pondered if she should seek revenge. She decided Kyoshi would have it later in extra 30 minutes of horse stance. She rolled over onto her side, propping her head up against her arm, "It’s time to get up.”
Kyoshi sulked and turned onto her side to face Rangi grumbling out "But I don't wanna." She wrapped her arms around Rangi tightly, burying her face in her neck.
Rangi despite herself could only smile. She brought her hand up to twirl a lock of brown hair between her fingers. Kyoshi pulled away gently to look up into her girl's soft eyes. Kyoshi leaned in closing her eyes to press a kiss to Rangi's lips.
Rangi kissed back gently before pulling away to rest back onto her back. Kyoshi sat up observing her glowing girls sun kissed face. Kyoshis breath came to a standstill and her heart fluttered. Rangi surely had to be touched by Agni. Sunrays pooling against her skin like warm honey. Kyoshi’s lips curved up into a dumb grin.
“I’ll go make breakfast, honey bee.""
Kyoshi quickly sat up and grabbed her robe from the nightstand. She quickly pulled it on and tied it around the waist, adorning it like it was another piece of her war kimono. It might very well have been one, Kyoshi ducked as a pillow came hurdling at her head. She narrowly dodged it as it flew by slamming against the door and falling into a heap on the floor. Kyoshi took that chance to escape quickly before Rangi reloaded and sent a pillow straight to the back of her head.
Rangi chuckled to herself as the door quickly slammed shut, leaving her to her own thoughts. She smiled, resting her hand against her forehead with a soft sigh.
“Stay here with me.”
She softly whispered, closing her eyes in an attempt to forget the flooding memories of that day.
“I'm here.”
It was a reply so soft yet so familiar. Rangis eyes fluttered open to find the source of the voice but there was no one in the room besides her. She softly sighed, closing her eyes shut once more, falling into a dreamless slumber as she waited for Kyoshi to come back.
“I’ll always be here for you.”
A tall woman muttered as she tightly held the small wounded girl in her arms tightly. One of her large hands reached up to brush hair from the fallen girl's face. Even now she was beautiful.
“In a next life, I hope we can be happy like this again."”
The tall painted woman silently wept for her love. She wept for her friends and her family as a cold hard object pierced her armor tearing fabric. She looked up in the cold green eyes of her former friend. With a smile she uttered her last words to the world.
“Rangi..... Stay here with me.”
