Summary
Adora holds her glass up. “To life filled with happiness.”
She takes a second to really look at Adora. She’s wearing another suit today, this time without a vest. Gods, it’s unfair how good she looks. It’s also unfair that Catra finds herself again sitting across from this woman, wanting her. Although this time, she knows with painful accuracy exactly what she’ll be missing out on if she doesn’t take the opportunity.
She can tell that Adora is more subdued. It makes her think that she took Catra’s choice to not answer her texts often as disinterest. It’s definitely not that. If anything, Catra doesn’t want to come off as some wide-eyed girl who’s hanging off Adora because she’s starstruck. Yet, sitting this close to Adora, she can hardly think of the reasons why she shouldn’t try to rekindle what’s clearly still between them, just waiting to be set ablaze.
Catra raises her glass to meet Adora’s a light tinkling sound reverberating between them. “How about to a long night spent however we choose?”

“I miss you too. So, so, much.” The words are wholly inadequate for what Adora’s gone through but she doesn’t want to make Catra feel any worse than she already does.
Catra lets out a watery laugh. “Whose bright idea was this, anyway?”
Adora’s smile wobbles but she laughs with her. “Yours, genius.”
Adora will never forget the day Catra asked her if they could take a break. It had been a few days after she accepted her seat in FZ University for her 18-month Master’s program.
It was a warbled request in between a long rant about how couples grow to resent each other in long distance relationships. How they both owed it to each other to grow as people and make sure they weren’t one of those high school sweethearts that grew to hate each other right after they got married.
She couldn’t believe it then, sitting on Catra’s bed as her soon-to-be ex-girlfriend looked at her nervously. Adora had been looking at train schedules to figure out how often she could visit, but Catra was on a whole other page. One that didn’t have her written into it.

Catra and Adora break up while Catra is getting her degree in another city. Mandatory Break Up AU.

Summary
She hears a soft thud and whipped her head up, a small squeak of surprise passing her lips. Catra relaxes when she realizes it was the window washer.
The woman’s eyes were so expressive—it’s like they’re yelling, are you ok?
Catra purses her lip and plops her head to rest on her hand, looking out at the attractive woman. She makes a show of rubbing her eyes tired and then making a frown upset.
The other woman frowns in return, one of her hands tight on her harness and the other searching the bucket at her hip. She pulls out her brush and Catra turns back to her computer, trying to make sense of the few notes she’s been given access to, until she hears another knock at the window.
The corners of her lips involuntarily turn up as she sees the smiley face drawn into the foam.
