Summary
Everyone has a different definition of what's unfair.
Shadow weaver always treated Adora and Catra differently, raising them using wildly distinct ideas and morals. Catra was forced to learn from a young age that she was unwanted. Shadow weaver didn't mean to raise Catra, Adora is what she wanted. Adora still has a hard time figuring out the difference between herself and Catra, leading to ripples in their friendship since childhood.
But the world has changed drastically since then. Adora is no longer apart of the horde, the place that raised her and taught her about almost everything she knows. Catra is now second in command after getting Hordak to kick Shadow weaver to the prisons.
The princess Alliance kept Adora, presenting her with what they deem as the correct morals and goals. Although, a few princesses still have their own worries about keeping a previous horde soldier in their ranks.

Glimmer was frozen, she could do nothing but watch as her mother– her mother– walked stiffly towards Horde Prime. Her movements machine-like, her face void of expression. It didn’t stop at simple mannerisms however, her normal clothes had been replaced by a white robe and pants, blatantly showing off Horde Prime’s insignia, and her eyes… no longer where they the familiar reassuring purple instead replaced by a pure neon green. Her head tilted slightly, moving uncannily to look at Glimmer as she sat down.
She was alive.

YES this is for everyone who got a little too sad or angry that a certain someone took she-ra off Netflix.
LONG fic about what could've and SHOULD'VE happened after the end of S5 of She-Ra: Princess of Power (2018). The Best Friend's squad are out to explore the world, bring magic to the universe, catradora is finally back on track but it isn't what it seems to be. Adora faces the past of her people and the whole history of a thousand years ago, when Mara rebelled. What REALLY happened and how?? FIRST we're going to get the ship working back at Etheria, and it might be a while. Don't worry, I'm not a quitter.
Mixed it up with He-Man, but since it doesn't have a reboot like She-Ra, the history WILL have adaptations, and the characters from He-Man do NOT look like they do in the original series. They're good, though, don't worry. Yes I'll make people there also be gay.
FINALLY we get to see more of The First Ones, understand where did they go and of the planet Eternia (Adora's birth planet and the password for a lot of shit at Etheria).

"Catra!” Catra turned to see Adora run towards her. Adora embraced her so hard that the force of it made Catra fall backwards.
As the two girlfriends lay holding each other in the grass of the Whispering Woods, Glimmer could not help but smile.
Yes, she would need to cuff Catra again before going into the palace. Yes, she would need to lock her up in the spare room. And yes, there would have to be a trial in which she could not guarantee the outcome. But, regardless of Glimmer's personal feelings about Catra, there was no doubt that it was all worth it just so she could have this moment with Adora.
OR
Catra almost dies saving Etheria from Horde Prime. She manages to blow up all his bots and ships, killing both Hordak and Shadow Weaver. After barely escaping to the Fright Zone, Adora successfully transforms into She-Ra and saves her. They kiss and all is well. Except it isn't. Etheria is a mess because of all the shrapnel from the explosions, and everyone seems bent on punishing Catra for her crimes.

Catra has never been good at letting anything go. Hence her impulsively buying the Christmas tree farm from her childhood to save it from closure. But when the farm miraculously brings Adora back to her, she knows this time she will have to find a way to say goodbye gracefully. After all, Adora is only here until the holidays.
