"Hey, are you awake?" Shiki gently poked Weisz's cheek. The blond grumbled in response, his eyes still fastened shut. Both of them laid together under the cozy sheets of Weisz's bed.
"What is it?" Weisz managed to get out in a raspy voice.
"Sorry," Shiki paused, figuring whether it was worth it to bug him or not, "I just...can't get to sleep. Do you mind if we talk, just a little a bit?"
Weisz ran his fingers through his bedhead and flipped over to face Shiki. The room was dark, so he could barely make out his face.
"Sure, not like I really need the beauty sleep."
That got a snicker out of the boy, "Nope. You're plenty pretty as is. So much so that you really don't even need to sleep at all."
"Let's not go that far."
Shiki smiled. Even being enveloped in shadows, Shiki had a glow about him. Weisz counted himself lucky - not many were willing to put up with his grumpy ass, but there Shiki was in all his glory.
"Well," Weisz rubbed his eyes, "What do you want to talk about, Shiki?"
The boy rolled onto his back and looked up at the ceiling, "I don't know, anything."
"Gee that really narrows it down, dummy."
Shiki gave him a gentle nudge, "Mean!"
"Alright, alright. Well, let's see," Weisz racked his brain, which was evidently still half-asleep. "If you could travel anywhere in the cosmos now, where would you go?"
"Hmm I'm not quite sure. I think there are a lot of places I'd like to explore. There are so many planets. It's hard to pick just one."
"Oh? Think about it. You can go anywhere, no restrictions - where would you want to be right now?"
Shiki turned again to face Weisz, "Easy then! If I could be anywhere right now, I would just stay here beside you. There's no place I'd rather be."
"You-" Weisz was thrown off guard at such a cheesy confession, "Somehow, that feels like cheating."
Shiki pouted, "But it's true!"
Weisz's heart pounded in his chest. Yep. He certainly was the luckiest person in the cosmos for having someone as sweet as Shiki.
"Well, what about you, Weisz?"
Weisz rolled his eyes, "Come on, if I give the same answer now, that's just lame."
Shiki dove into Weisz's chest and cuddled up close to him, "You're not lame! I'm happy to hear you feel the same way, silly!"
Weisz brushed the hair out of Shiki's face and kissed him on the forehead, "Of course I do. I feel happiest when I'm with you."
"Weisz, I feel lucky to have you. You're always so kind. You take care of me, and always seem to know exactly how to make me feel better."
Never in a million years did Weisz ever think that someone would find themselves lucky to have him . Rather, it should be the other way around. But if that's how Shiki felt, then he'd do everything in his power to do everything he could for him.
He placed his hand on top of the boy's head and held him close to his heart, "It's because I love you, Shiki."
"I love you too!"
Weisz sighed. Shiki made him feel so calm and relaxed.
Before long, the room grew quiet. Surprisingly quickly, they'd both fallen asleep cradled in each other's arms.
