"Hey, let's stop and play this one," Shiki gently tugged at Weisz's sleeve, urging him to pause for a moment.
The blond looked over to where he was pointing. Tucked between various other game booths was one of those shooting games - ones that you really only see during festivals like these.
"If you want," he sighed, "but you know those games are rigged against you, right?"
"I can win, just watch me!"
Together, they wriggled their way through the crowd of people - hands intertwined as not to lose track of one another. Weisz's cheeks glowed as Shiki pulled him along eagerly. He wouldn't be nearly as flustered if there weren't so many bystanders around to see.
Despite this, they made it to the stall and Shiki's hand slipped away in order to have a go at the game. The embarrassment had faded, but Weisz couldn't help but feel a little disappointment at not having the boy's hand in his own anymore.
His fingers grew cold as the temperature began to drop at the sun setting behind the mountains in the distance. The sky that was once bright and clear was now stained with mellow oranges and reds.
He smiled softly towards the sky, thinking of all the time he and Shiki had spent together today. "It's never a dull moment with that guy, huh."
Just then, Shiki turned to him with a pouty face, "Aww, I couldn't do it after all."
"What did I tell you," Weisz chided, shaking his head, "Winning one of these games is near impossible. It's nothing to feel bad about."
"I guess you're right. But I really wanted that stuffed animal up there."
"Which one?"
"The white dog with the orange nose," Shiki beamed. He pointed up at it.
"That-" Weisz stared in awe at the stuffed creature, "There's no way that's a dog, dumbass!"
"I'm pretty sure it is," Shiki stood confidently with his hands at his hips, "And I've never seen a stuffed animal like it before, so I thought it might make for a cute keepsake to remember today by!"
Weisz's eyes widened at Shiki's words. The boy had the biggest heart he'd ever known, and he'd be damned if he wasn't to at least try to give him everything he wished for.
"Alright," Weisz cracked his knuckles, "Let me give it a shot."
"But you just said winning was impossible-"
"Sure, for the average person," he smirked, taking the gun in his hands, "but you've got one hell of a sharp-shooting boyfriend."
Shiki's smile grew three times, which gave Weisz all the motivation he needed to play a perfect game. Perhaps even showing off a little, he made sure to hit every target exactly.
Proudly, he received the giant stuffed animal and passed it along to the boy, who cradled it in his arms as if it was the most precious thing he'd ever held.
"Thank you, Weisz!" Shiki leaned into the blond, "I'm glad I have such a cool boyfriend!"
"Yeah, no problem," he murmured, face now as red as the scarlet sky. It took no time at all for his cockiness to melt away. His arm flew to the back of his neck, holding it in nervousness, "I'm glad you're happy."
Shiki nuzzled in closer and kissed him on the cheek, giggling afterwards, "Consider that your reward for winning the game, since you gave me the stuffie."
"Sure. Thank you Shiki," Weisz chuckled. He gazed down at the boy, who had a twinkle in his eye, "But spending the day with you is the real reward…"
