“Sure you don’t want to come? Everyone would love to see you.”
“No, I don’t think so, not tonight.”
“You sure? Thomas is going to meet us out.” Vic finishes adjusting her lipstick in the mirror by the door and gives Ethan a look. “Come on, it’ll be fun.”
“Thanks Vic, but I’m good, really. I just want to watch TV and fall asleep early.” He shrugs, tightening the string on his grey sweatpants before giving his bare belly a pat. “Have fun, don’t worry about me.”
“Okay, suit yourself.” She leans in for a kiss, imparting a bright red lip print to his right cheek, and flounces out the door.
Ethan sighs. He probably should have just gone with her, and he almost calls after her, asking her to wait up. But he really is tired, and it all sounds like way, way too much, so he wanders into the other room and flings himself onto the sofa with the full intention of mindlessly scrolling through Netflix.
Instead, he immediately thinks about the only thing that’s been on his mind for the last two days, which just happens to be the exact thing that he’d been desperately hoping an early night would help him to forget.
Two nights ago, Damiano had accidentally sexted him.
