"I’m tired..." Coby lay his head against Helmeppo's chest, one arm flopping off the side of the hammock, the other resting against Helmeppo's shoulder.
Helmeppo gently rocked the hammock they lay in back and forth idly. "Then go to sleep."
"Then I’m sleeping on you."
"I don’t mind." Helmeppo kissed Coby's forehead. "I love you."
"I love you too." Coby snuggled closer, laying his body properly over his lover's comfortably. "It’s too hot."
"Oh quit complaining. You’re the one who decided to come out in a sweater in summer. Take your sweater off."
"I don’t have the energy to."
"Then you don’t get to complain about it."
Coby pulled down Helmeppo's collar to place a light kiss to his collarbone. "Fine fine..."
Helmeppo wrapped his arms tightly around his boyfriend and kissed the top of his head, smiling softly as he watched Coby slowly drift off to sleep in his arms. He would’ve been happy to stay there, just like that, forever. Helmeppo gently ran his fingers through Coby's hair. The hammock swayed, the motion keeping Coby sound asleep, until the sun began to set over the horizon. Coby blinked his eyes open as the temperature dropped with the evening's arrival, and for the first time was glad for his hoodie.
"How long...?"
Helmeppo brushed Coby's hair away from his face. "Not long. Just a couple hours."
"Sorry...should’ve gone to bed instead of keeping you here." Coby smiled sleepily, sheepishly.
"I don’t mind at all. I’d be fine to hold you forever."
Coby's face tinted pink. He buried his head against Helmeppo's chest to hide the rapidly growing blush. "Shut up..."
"I already saw that cute blush, Coby, no point in hiding it," Helmeppo insisted. "C'mon, let’s get you inside and to bed."
"Fiiiiine..."
Helmeppo scooped him up, carrying him into the small house and laying him down on the bed, gently kissing his cheek and pulling the blankets up over his small frame. Coby reached his arms up to his partner and pulled him down into a tight hug.
"What now?" Helmeppo sighed, but leaned into the hug.
"C'mere. You’re comfortable," Coby insisted.
"Fine fine." Helmeppo lay down next to him and pulled Coby right up against his chest. "Have you been doing late nights again?"
Coby grinned awkwardly. "Sorry..."
"Jeez, Coby...seriously, take care of yourself."
"No."
"Why?"
"I don’t have time during the day to read."
"Yeah. You’re too busy laying in a hammock."
"It was only once or twice! C'mon! Besides, don’t deny you like cuddling with me."
Helmeppo smirked. "Okay, got me there," he confirmed. "Little idiot..."
"But I’m your idiot."
"Yes, yes you are. You’re my idiot and I love you, but...take care of yourself."
"I don’t wanna."
"You’ll kill yourself this way...you get like, an hour of sleep a day."
"Today I got two."
"My point stands! You’re not taking care of yourself. Do I have to take care of both of us now?"
"Yes."
"Fine. Someone's gotta do it..."
"Can I sleep in the hammock again?"
"Not tonight, it gets cold at night."
"Awww..."
"You sound like you’re five."
"Mentally."
"You’re not supposed to agree!"
"Well too bad." Coby nuzzled against his partner. "You’re warm..."
Helmeppo curled himself around Coby's smaller frame, locking his arms around him. "Go to sleep. Maybe you can actually get a full night's sleep tonight, huh?"
"Make me."
"I will. I'm not letting you leave until you have at least six hours, and that’s still just barely acceptable."
"Then you’ll have to hold me the whole time, otherwise I’m climbing out the window."
"Coby, you’re deliriously tired. Go. To. Sleep."
Coby cuddled close, a tiny smile on his face.

When Helmeppo woke up, Coby was already up, his nose buried in a book. Helmeppo chuckled and walked over, kissing the top of Coby's head. "Well good morning, mister bookworm."
Coby looked up, smiling sheepishly. "Good morning to you too."
"How long after I fell asleep did you get up?"
"If you’re worried I’m running on just a couple hours of sleep, don’t worry. I only woke up like, an hour ago."
"Okay good."
"Can…Can we go out to the hammock again? It’s nice to sway there and cuddle on our off days…"
Helmeppo nudged Coby to his feet. "Okay okay. Dummy. Let’s go." He kissed Coby's cheek. "I love you."
Coby's cheeks tinted pink, but he reached up to return the kiss. "I love you too."
