Spending time with your boyfriend easily became your favorite pastime. The countless midnight drives you had gone on with him have been some of the most enjoyable experiences in your life, and this time was no different.
So there you found yourself, sitting in the passenger seat of Seungcheol’s car, his left hand on the steering wheel and his right holding yours on the center console.
The radio was on, with the volume low, a summer beats playlist flowing through the speakers. The heat forcing the air conditioner to be turned on, blowing the cold air towards you and throughout the vehicle.
Seungcheol refused to tell you where he was taking you, as always, but you didn’t mind since you loved these little road trips with him. You didn’t pay attention to road signs or your phone’s GPS telling you where you were. You trusted Seungcheol enough to not put you in danger.
As you traveled further and further out of town, you became more comfortable with the silence taking over the car. This time, the sun was just setting, covering the sky in a mix of beautiful pink, purple and orange shades.
By the time Seungcheol parked, the sun had fully set and left the both of you in darkness. The headlights of the car and the moon were the only light reflecting off of your faces and it made it slightly easier to see where you were.
“Are you sure you aren’t going to kill me?” You questioned your boyfriend, looking out to the empty cornfield he brought you to.
He giggled, “Yes, I’m sure I’m not going to kill you. Now come on!"
He grabbed your hand and pulled you further into the field. In the middle of the land was a small clearing, the grass slightly overgrown, but soft nonetheless. Seungcheol let go of your hand and laid his back on the ground and looked towards the sky, and then you.
"Come join me,” he began, patting the ground next to him. “It’s comfortable, I promise."
You laid down on the ground next to him, and looked towards the sky.
The stars that were dotted in the sky sparkled. You could slightly make out a constellation, but you could not remember its name.
"Isn’t it pretty?” Seungcheol asked, looking over at you and admiring the reflection of the stars in your eyes.
“It’s gorgeous, Cheollie. How did you find this place?"
"Oh, I drove past here on my way back home from that trip I took last weekend. I needed a break from driving so I walked through the field a little bit and I found this clearing. I thought it would be perfect to bring you here."
You looked at him and smiled. “Thanks, Cheol, I love it.”
“Of course, honey. Anything for you.”
