Mobius was trying to open the door to their apartment with his arms full of shopping bags. As he struggled through the door with one bag in his teeth, he heard a loud crash coming from the kitchen.
He dropped all the bags and rushed to the kitchen shouting, "Loki?!"
He bit his lips to keep from laughing as he entered the kitchen.
He found himself facing a Loki with reddened cheeks from anger, disheveled hair and a trail of flour on his cheek, a spoon in one hand, and around him spread on the floor all the pots and pans from the cupboard.
"Is everything okay Loki?" he asked nonetheless as he walked into the kitchen and began picking up a few large pots and pans to at least make his way to his lover.
"Do I look okay?" ranted Loki, his voice full of pissed offness as he spread his arms to show the mess around him.
"Um... how did this happen?" asked Mobius cautiously, seeing that it wouldn't take much for Loki to explode.
Loki leaned against the counter and crossed his arms. With a sulky look on his face, he mumbled something that Mobius couldn't understand, "Iwantedapanthatwasonthebottom, butwhenIgrabbedthehandleitstuck, soratherthanmovetheothers, Imayhaveputalittletomuchstrength."
With a fond smile on his lips and seeing that the storm had passed, Mobius replied, "If that's Asgardian Sweetheart, you're going to have to translate it for me, because I didn't get it."
Loki glared at him but nonetheless repeated clearly, "I wanted a pan that was at the bottom, but when I grabbed the handle it stuck, so rather than move the others, I may have put a little too much strength."
"Pfft."
Mobius tried again to hold back his laugh because he could picture the scene so well. This earned him another glare from Loki.
Although Mobius found Loki adorable when he pouted, he began to pick up the pots and pans on the floor and asked Loki, "What pan did you need and what for?"
"I wanted it to be a surprise, but now it's ruined. Yesterday you mentioned that you liked sweet pancakes and uh... I wanted them to be ready when you got home, but everything went wrong, it took me forever to get the recipe right and then this whole pan thing means the surprise is finally screwed." Loki turned around and kicked the furniture in front of him out of frustration, so he didn't see Mobius approaching and was surprised when he felt two arms embrace him from behind.
"I know you're probably very disappointed Loki, but do you know how much it delights me, just knowing that you want to surprise me like this?"
Loki, who leaned against him and relaxed a bit, grumbled, still a little annoyed, "Yes, but still, it's a simple human task and-"
Mobius turned him around in his arms and put a finger over his mouth, "That's just it, it's something you could have done in less than a minute with your magic, but you chose to do it the human way. That's enough to show me how much effort you were willing to put in for me."
He placed a tender kiss on Loki's lips before moving back a little and wiping with a tender gesture the flour stain on his lover's cheek.
Then he continued, "I'm going to get the groceries I dropped in the hallway and then if you want we'll prepare these pancakes together, it's even more fun, you'll see."
Mobius left the kitchen under the thoughtful gaze of Loki.
" There we go." Mobius took the groceries into the kitchen and began to arrange them while Loki put away the pots and pans before setting the pan responsible for his mayhem on the stove.
Mobius came to join him, "So, shall we cook these pancakes?"
"Mobius."
Loki's deep voice stopped Mobius just as he was about to start the fire under the pan.
"Yes, sweetheart?"
"Thank you for always being so patient with me," Loki whispered in his ear before kissing him on the cheek.
"You don't have to thank me, it didn't take me any patience, you have every right to get upset, I certainly don't expect you to be perfect." He pulled Loki to him and whispered in his ear, "you actually don't know how much I want to kiss that mouth whenever you pout like this."
"Really?"
Loki stepped back, leaned against the counter, crossed his arms and resumed his annoyed pout, the only difference was the mischievous glint in his eye.
Mobius chuckled before walking over to Loki, the same gleam in his eye, he walked over until their lips were almost touching and then whispered, "I'll take a bite to whet my appetite," he captured Loki's lips, tasting every inch of his mouth, then catching his breath, he continued, "and later, I'll try out the difference, when they taste like sweet pancakes."
Then Mobius turned to the stove and set the fire under the pan while Loki watched him fondly, thinking that his culinary disaster was finally ending well.
