Work Text:
“Rindo?”
Shoka says, hoping for any kind of response, although Rindo is way too lost in his own thoughts to even process anything going into his ears. Shoka ends up shaking him until he comes back to his senses. “Huh? Sorry, did you say something?” Rindo asks. “Uh, yeah. Only like twenty actual things, at least.” Well shit. “Oh. Sorry, I’ve been kinda lost in thought for a while” Rindo replies. “Yeah, I can tell.” Rindo’s lips part, “Look, I-” “Is it about a vision?” Shoka asks, cutting Rindo off. “Oh-! Uh, yeah.” Rindo replies, obviously lying. “Y’know, you suck at lying.” “W-what do you mean?” He asks frantically. “I mean that this obviously isn’t about a vision.” Rindo’s eyes widen.
“See? The way you looked at me right now. Something else is obviously on your mind.” “Like what?” Rindo asks. “I don’t know! That’s the problem!” Shoka responds, obviously pissed. Rindo pulls his mask over his face. Shoka shrugs it off and keeps walking, with Rindo following not far behind.
“I’m sorry.” Rindo blurts. “No you’re not.” Shoka teases him. “But seriously, for what?” “Keeping secrets, I guess.” Shoka grins, “So you admit you lied.” “Yeah, I guess. Sorry.” Shoka grabs Rindo’s mask and tugs it down, “Say it again.” Rindo steps back, face as red as a beet. “S-say what again?” “That you’re sorry.” Shoka demands, staring at Rindo’s lips. “I-Im sorry?” Rindo says, but it really sounds more like a question. “Good.” Shoka chuckles.
As the two continue walking, thoughts keep racing through Rindo’s mind. Why would she have him repeat that, he wonders.
Shoka stops walking abruptly. Rindo looks at her with a confused look on his face. “What are you looking at?” She demands. “I was just wondering why you stopped.” “Relax, I’m only kidding.” Shoka smiles. The two go quiet until Shoka breaks the silence, “Hey, do you think we can just talk for a little bit?”
The two find a quiet spot to stay. “I think we’re alone now.” Shoka says. “Don’t we have something to be doing?” Rindo asks. “It can wait.” “I guess it can, but if Fret texts me I’m blaming you.” Rindo jokes. “So, tell me what’s on your mind.” Shoka demands. “Really? That’s what you brought me out here for?” Rindo asks, clearly pissed off. “Bab- ahem. Rindo, I just wanna know what’s up with you. I don’t want the leader of the Wicked Twisters to think he’s all alone or something.” Shoka states.
“Look, I just-” He freezes up. Shoka starts to move her hand up and places it into his hand. Rindo’s eyes widen. “There’s just way too many things I need to tell you and I don’t know where to start.” “I guess that makes two of us,” Shoka replies. “but just start wherever you think is right, I guess.”
Rindo is unable to form any words and eventually starts tearing up. “Hey. It’ll be alright.” Shoka says, in an attempt to comfort him. God, why is he pretty when he cries too? She starts to squeeze Rindo’s hand a bit harder. He looks up at Shoka. He is soon greeted by the warmth of Shoka’s hand on his cheek, wiping his tears.
“If you won’t say it, I will.” Shoka remarks.
“I love you!” The two exclaim simultaneously.
As the two exchange longing gazes at one another, both of their faces turn red. They both let out sighs of relief which is followed by Rindo: “I didn’t know that you-!” He’s cut off by a feeling unlike anything else he’s ever felt. It’s warm, and soft. As he leans into the kiss, Shoka begins to kiss him even harder, pushing him back against the wall behind him. When she finally pulls away, Rindo looks at Shoka with a dazed look in his eyes.
“You look so dumb right now.” She giggles, and snaps a photo of him on her phone. “H-hey!” Rindo yells, trying to take Shokas phone out of her hands. “I’m totally showing this to them.” She jokes. “I’m gonna rewind time and make sure you never kiss me if that’s the case.” Rindo snaps back.
“A-Anyways, we should probably get back I guess.” Rindo suggests. “I think we can stay here a little longer.” Shoka replies, getting into his lap and burying her face into his chest. “O-oh, alright.”
Rindo starts to subconsciously play with Shoka’s hair. Not long after, Shoka starts to doze off, which Rindo then receives a message from Fret. ‘where r u’ It reads. He responds, ‘we’ll be back soon’. He starts to shake Shoka awake and the two get food and drinks for everyone and start to walk back with everybody, holding hands the whole way home.
When the two approach the rest of the group, Fret notices the two’s hands intertwined. “Daaamn, Rindo-” “I don’t wanna hear it.” The whole group laughs.
As the group all sit down to eat, Shoka sighs, “I love you, Rindo.” Rindo’s face goes red as he manages to get out, “I love you too, Shoka. So much.”
