The Doctor and Rose are trying to adjust to life as parents, but the weight of the universe is getting to them. The Doctor ends up going shopping by himself with their brand new baby, and he meets an old friend.
“Well, now if you do that who am I supposed to talk to?” he teased, kissing her head, and a voice he didn’t expect rang in his ear.
“You could talk to me,” it said, and the Doctor turned sharply, seeing Sarah Jane Smith standing next to him with a smile on her face.
“Oh, I should think so,” he said, beaming back at her.

Summary
Darcy had a plan.
This was immediately suspicious.
Not because Darcy did not usually have plans. Darcy almost always had plans. Lunch plans. Lab containment plans. Emotional triage plans. Plans for keeping Tony from substituting caffeine for bone marrow. Plans for ensuring Jane did not accidentally ascend into a higher state of astrophysical rage due to underfeeding. Plans for getting Clint out of vents, Natasha into soft blankets, Bruce away from guilt spirals, Fury near vegetables, and Thor into conversations that did not begin with “In my youth” and end with furniture damage.
But this was not one of those plans.
This plan had maps.
Realm maps.
Asgardian maps, Alfheim path charts, Jane’s translated realm-time models, Loki’s notes written in an elegant, slanted hand that made every sentence look like it knew something it was not telling you, and Tony’s projected threat lattice glowing above the common room table in a way that suggested the future had developed a migraine.
This is the third work in the series, but can be read as a standalone.

Summary
Thor is taking Darcy and Jane away for a month to Asgard. Jane would be studying the stars, and Darcy is widely adored as she spends her time running around his palace and spreading mischief and getting into trouble.
“Am I dead? Because if I’m dead, Jane is going to be furious, and honestly she has grounds.”
“You are not dead.”
“Great. Love that. Wonderful opening clarification.”
Frigga had crossed the room without sound and sat at the edge of the chair near Darcy’s bed, looking both entirely real and slightly impossible, like moonlight had remembered how to have hands.
“I have little time,” Frigga said.
“That is never comforting when said by mystical mothers.”
“My son is in danger.”
“Loki.”
