Summary
Darcy had a plan.
This was immediately suspicious.
Not because Darcy did not usually have plans. Darcy almost always had plans. Lunch plans. Lab containment plans. Emotional triage plans. Plans for keeping Tony from substituting caffeine for bone marrow. Plans for ensuring Jane did not accidentally ascend into a higher state of astrophysical rage due to underfeeding. Plans for getting Clint out of vents, Natasha into soft blankets, Bruce away from guilt spirals, Fury near vegetables, and Thor into conversations that did not begin with “In my youth” and end with furniture damage.
But this was not one of those plans.
This plan had maps.
Realm maps.
Asgardian maps, Alfheim path charts, Jane’s translated realm-time models, Loki’s notes written in an elegant, slanted hand that made every sentence look like it knew something it was not telling you, and Tony’s projected threat lattice glowing above the common room table in a way that suggested the future had developed a migraine.
