Toge and Yuuta stared at the basket of mushrooms, then at each other, then back at the mushrooms. The first years went mushroom picking and left Toge and Yuuta to figure out which ones were poisonous. Maki and Panda were off on a mission so the boys can’t even ask them.
“So…” Yuuta said as he picked up a flat headed brown mushroom, “Do you know which ones are poisonous?”
“Okaka…” Toge trailed off.
Before the first years left, they had assured their senpais that none of the mushrooms were poisonous but Yuuta and Toge still felt the need to check.
Yuuta placed the mushroom he was holding back in the basket. “Should we search online for edible mushroom pictures and just...base them off there?
Toge picked up a different mushroom, one that looked exactly like the mushroom powerup from Mario. He held it towards Yuuta and asked, “Tuna?”
“Ah...Um...Maybe we shouldn’t risk that one? Wasn’t there a rule in nature wherein the brighter it is, the possibility of it being poisonous is greater?” Yuuta said.
‘Maybe I should look up pictures of edible mushrooms…’ Yuuta thought as he stared at Toge who was practically glaring at the mushroom.
Then, before Yuuta even knew what he was about to do, the shorter sorcerer shoved the white spotted mushroom into his mouth and swallowed it.
“TOGE?!” Yuuta dashed to his side, immediately fretting over his boyfriend.
Toge began to sign ‘ Relax Yuuta. I don’t think it’s poisonous-’ Toge stopped for a bit as his face gained a greenish tint to it. ‘Maybe I’m wrong’ and Toge immediately collapsed onto the floor, clutching at his stomach.
Unfortunately this only made Yuuta panic even more.

The next few hours (or was it minutes?) flew by like a powerpoint presentation for Toge. Yuuta had tried to help him using a reversed cursed technique but he didn’t tink it was working. He heard Yuuta make a few calls and, hey, when did Toge get to the infirmary?
The white haired male attempted to turn his head but a groan was forced out of him when he just felt like vomiting.
“Inumaki-senpai!”
He heard footsteps rushing to his bed and a strong pair of arms lifted Toge’s upper body up and began crushing him in a hug.
Nope. The poison is most definitely not out of his system. Toge promptly vomited into the poor person who decided quickly moving him was a good idea. Toge’s poor body was immediately released and it flopped back onto the bed. He could hear people screeching and laughing. He felt a hand brush his bangs and everything went dark.

Toge had just vomited on Yuuji. Currently, Nobara was laughing at him, Fushiguro and Maki were scolding him for being too quick to move Toge around while Panda watched with Yuuta. Yuuta stared down at his boyfriend, noticing that he was just barely awake. He brushed Toge’s bangs in an effort to encourage sleep.
“Toge’s an idiot.” Maki said.
This directed Yuuta’s attention to her.
Maki, noticing that Yuuta was staring at her said, “What? It’s true. Dumbass thought that his hair back in our first year looked good on him. I’m not surprised he tried to eat a mushroom that he didn’t even know was poisonous.”
“...He was pretty before but he looks prettier now.” Yuuta mumbled out.
Panda slapped him on the back, laughing as he said, ”Bold of you to say! Now come on, Toge needs his rest. “
Yuuta sighed before kissing his sleeping boyfriend on his forehead and followed Panda out.

Toge woke up in the middle of the night, still feeling physically weak. The cursed speech user pushed on however as he got out of bed and slowly but surely made his way to the dorms.
From where he currently stood, Toge had two options, to crawl into his room and go to bed by himself or crawl into Yuuta’s room and scare him. Toge obviously chose the second option.
Toge tugged on the door of Yuuta’s room, finding it unlocked. He stepped in and closed the door before shaking Yuuta awake.
Yuuta blinked and tried to shove away the hands, shaking him awake. He assumed that Rika was trying to wake him up again because she thought he had a nightmare.
“Rika...Stop it. I’m not having a nightmare.” Yuuta groaned before turning to see who he expected was Rika. Rather, he saw a pouty Toge with his arms crossed. Yuuta immediately shot up with worry.
“Toge? What’s-”
Before Yuuta could ask him anything, Toge turned around and left the room, resolving to sleep in his room instead.

For Toge, the next day was spent lounging in his room and playing games. Not once had Yuuta attempted to check up on him which was starting to annoy Toge. Toge heard someone knock on his door and, like a decent enough host, he gave them the permission to come in.
Toge immediately began pouting when he saw Yuuta open the door, carrying a tray.
“Hey Toge! Um…” Yuuta set the tra down in front of him. “Sorry for not checking up on you...I was...erm, busy making this.”
Toge studied the plate in front of him as he waited for Yuuta to clarify.
“It’s a Maitake and Beef stir fry. Yuuji and Maki helped me make it.”
Toge took a tentative bite of the dish and smiled. He supposes that he could forgive Yuuta.
“Oh! And, I also went ahead and rented out the movie you’ve been wanting to watch so we can watch that while you eat. Sounds good?” Yuuta smiled as he showed Toge the aforementioned movie.
With a happy “Shake!” In response, the couple began watching the movie and soon enough, Toge’s petty anger dissipated. Well, why wouldn’t it? To Toge, Yuuta’s just the kind of person you could never quite stay mad at.
