Chapter Text
In the farthest known depths of the universe stood the Invem Dark Star Army, an army of mutants bent on conquering the universe. But in their way stood one challenger who always came out on top. 17 year old Jason Frudnick, a mere boy who became a Metal Attacker Pilot by chance, soon became the greatest fighter the universe had ever known.
Aboard the ever evolving line Sophia line of Metal Attackers, Jason stood in the way of constant mutants that dared to stand in his way. His battles against the mutants would not stop at just the subterrean depths of Earth, as the battle would rage into the depths of outer space.
With many different allies at his side, he fought tooth and nail to stop the scourge that threatened his home, the universe and most importantly, the one he loves most of all. Amidst the struggle, the words of a scientist echoed in his mind.
“Your heart will decide the outcome.”
Within Jason’s heart, is a fire that burns hotter than even the furthest depths of hell ever to be known. Facing all odds against him, the light from his Blaster Rifle shone upon the darkest hour, and with it put an end to the scourge. This is the life and times… of Jason Frudnick.
“That’s a bit overdramatic, don’t you think?”
“But it’s true!”
“I’m not sure if planet Sophia should recount my tale like that.”
Jason stepped outside to get some fresh air. It had just been moments since he had finally put an end to the Invem Dark Star Army for good and rescued Eve from their clutches. The entire universe now views him as the savior of life, and will tell his story for many generations. He wasn’t sure how to take it in though. There’s nothing wrong in fighting to save the universe, but he doesn’t exactly want to be viewed as the so-called “savior” everyone makes him out to be.
“Jason, what are you doing out here?” asked a blonde girl.
“Hey, Eve. I’m just gathering my thoughts here.” Jason replied. Eve stood next to him as she wrapped her arms around his arm. She knows the hard fought battle he went through in order to save her, and she was grateful for his bravery. The conclusion even confirmed that she was no longer a gynoid, but an organic lifeform.
“You want to go home, don’t you?” Eve asked.
“Yeah.” Jason replied. “Guess you could say I’m a little homesick. I don’t even know how long it’s been since we left Earth.”
“I get it. We can leave whenever you’re ready.” said Eve. As the pair talked about leaving for Earth, a tall man with blue hair approached Jason. When he saw the man walking towards him, Jason turned to face him.
“Jason Frudnick.” the man spoke.
“Commander Kane…” responded Jason.
“Despite being branded as a threat to planet Sophia, you’ve proven that you are willing to go the distance needed to save the universe, and even my daughter. For that, I am grateful to you.” said Kane. He offered the boy a handshake, which Jason accepted.
“Thank you, Kane.” replied Jason. “But this was a team effort. You, Jennifer, Kanna, Stein, Gonbei, the support droids and even Leibniz helped out. If it weren’t for all of you at my side… I don’t know how things would’ve played out.”
“Well, I am honored by your humble words.” said Kane. “So what do you plan to do now?”
“I’m going back to Earth with Eve.” said Jason.
“Earth, huh? What is it that you’ll do there?” asked Kane
“I think I just wanna take it easy. Have some time to relax and such.” Jason added. Kane looked at him with an interested look.
“I see. Well since we all did our part in the battle, I think we all deserve a break.”
“Kane?” questioned Jason.
“Show us what Earth is like, Jason. What it’s like, what does it offer, what is the environment like.”
“Well, I guess I could…”
“Excellent! I will clear this up with the Sophia Force and notify my family of it. Make sure you let the others know.” Kane told him. Jason went searching for the other pilots, and told them of the plan. Gonbei, Stein and Kanna all agreed to the plan.
“Earth? Sounds like it’s gonna be a hoot!” said Gonbei. “You can count me and Tae in!”
“It sounds like Earth will be a rather easygoing time.” replied Stein. “Just lemme get ol’ Atom outfitted with a booster and you can count me and Tes in.”
“Earth is like, green and blue, right? That is toooootally awesome. Me and Kenwood are definitely going!” said Kanna. Jason smiled at their responses. All that was left was Leibniz, but Jason couldn’t find him anywhere.
“Probably brooding somewhere. Maybe it’s better he didn’t go, considering he still hates my guts.” Jason thought to himself. With that out of the way, Jason found Eve and told her about what’s going on.
“Looks like everyone is going to relax on Earth, huh?” said Eve. “It could be a fun change of pace.”
“Yeah, we’re all going there to spend some time.” said Jason. “Well… everyone but Leibniz.”
“He didn’t want to go?” asked Eve.
“I couldn’t find him. He’d probably would’ve said no, and I’m pretty sure he still hates my guts.” answered Jason.
“... Hey, Leibniz. Stop kicking my seat.”
“Tch. Quit whining.”
What a jerk.
“Well, my dad is probably waiting for me. I’ll catch up with you later.” said Eve. Jason waved goodbye at her and stared out into the sky. From his pocket, Fred hopped out and jumped onto Jason’s hand.
“Ribbit ribbit!”
“Hey, Fred! We’re finally going home.” Jason told his support animal. Fred did a flip to show his excitement. Soon enough, it looked like everyone was ready. All the Metal Attackers were prepared to launch from Sophia to Earth. Jason just did a last minute check to make sure everyone was good to go.
“Everyone is good to go.” said Jason. He hopped aboard his MA, with both Eve and Fred inside. Jason connected to his MA’s communicator to let Kane know that everyone is good to go. Kane gave the signal to launch into outer space and let Jason lead the way while the others followed behind.
Next stop… the planet Earth.
“Ladies and gentlemen… welcome to planet Earth!” announced Jason. Everyone was in awe in how pretty it looked. The night sky was filled with dozens of stars and a full moon that shone upon them.
“This is Earth?” said Jennifer. "It's beautiful."
“Indeed. This truly is a sight to behold.” added Kane.
“Oooh, pretty lights!” said Eva, pointing at the various stars in the sky.
There was loads of stars to see when one is traveling through outer space, but there's something special about seeing them from a planet's surface. The distance between the planet and the countless stars added to the beauty of the stars. Everyone couldn't help but look up their soft glow, until Jason finally spoke up.
“Well, this is usually the part of the day when I go to sleep, but tomorrow, is when we should really get things going.” said Jason. “Though it looks like you all need some place to stay at.”
“Just leave it to your girl, Kanna!” shouted Kanna. Plucking a flower from her head, she planted it onto the ground. Kenwood added a small amount of water to the plant and told everyone to stand back. Suddenly the flower grew into a giant house with accommodations for everyone, including a garage to store Metal Attackers.
Stein removed his sunglasses upon witnessing what had just occurred. “That there is some of the craziest stuff I ever saw!” he said. “How’d you do it, lady?”
“Just some Kanna magic!” Kanna replied, loud and proud.
“Well, I’m gettin’ tired, so I’ll see y’all in the mornin’.” said Tae, heading towards the giant house that sprung out from the ground.
“Tae’s got a point. I’m gonna get some rest.” said Gonbei, following after Tae.
“Well, my house isn’t far from here so good night to all of you.” said Jason. Eve followed after him. The two made their way to Jason’s house, where they freshened up before finally getting ready to sleep.
“Good night, Eve.” said Jason, sharing his blanket with her.
“Jason?” she asked.
“What is it, Eve?”
“Did you record the new episode of Azure Striker Gunvolt for me?” Eve asked him.
“Of course. I know it's your favorite anime.” replied Jason. Eve leaned over to kiss him on the cheek.
“I love you, Jason.” Eve said happily.
“I love you too, Eve.” replied Jason, calmly.
“Holy shit! Shut the fuck up!”
Jason sprung up from his bed upon hearing those words. He recognized that voice from anywhere. Checking the room next to his and Eve’s, he saw a man with long silver hair and long fox ears lying on the bed.
“LEIBNIZ?! HOW THE HELL DID YOU GET HERE?!” asked Jason, still surprised that Leibniz actually managed to show up, let alone enter his house.
“Isn’t it obvious?” replied Leibniz. “I followed you guys here.”
“In what?! Garuda was scrapped to pieces!” Jason pointed out.
“It was. But they used what remained and retooled it into Rising Garuda. Those SF goons really know their stuff.” said Leibniz. “They let me have it after the smoke cleared as a form of “consolation” after the fight was over. So I just followed you here, given how fast it flies.”
Jason facepalmed at hearing all of this. His rival had somehow managed to show up after all. It was crazy, considering that he couldn’t find him on Sophia. He couldn’t be entirely mad at him though. Leibniz did save the Earth while he was fighting the Mutant Lord in inter-dimensional space. Leibniz was even there for Jason when they were on the run from the Sophia Force, though it was more like barging in uninvited. Ultimately, Jason just decided to cut Leibniz some slack.
“Jeez… and I thought I was finally free.” muttered Jason, mildly frustrated at Leibniz.
“Hey, you can still have your time off. I’ll just occasionally make your life suck.” Leibniz told him.
“Fine, just let me go to sleep. I have plans for tomorrow.”
“Alright then. Also I ate the last of your fried squid.”
“YOU DID WHAT?!” Eve shouted from her room. She stomped over to the other room ready to attack Leibniz, but Jason held her back before she could get the chance to do so. Leibniz merely gave a devilish smirk at the couple.
“Night, Leibniz…” muttered Jason, as he and Eve left the room. Leibniz shut the door and prepared to get some rest.
“Maybe I should be nicer to them…” Leibniz thought to himself as he stared into the ceiling. “Nah, I still hate them… I’ll just be an inconvenience to them.”
