Even When The Sky Crashes Down, I'll Be With You

Summary:

The small new Decepticon recruit named Lightningdancer had struggled to find a place of belonging, at least until they found two bots who helped them realize just where exactly they belonged.

Hello! This is my first TF fic, so apologies if anything seems off about the characters. I'll add more characters and tags as I write and publish more. None of this is proofread, and I'm just writing for fun.

Notes:

Here's the first (and shortest) chapter! I hope you all enjoy it!

Chapter 1: Lab Rats

Chapter Text

Lightningdancer; A somewhat short Decepticon fighter. Mute, except on rare occasions. Usually communicates through a special device they carry. Was previously a dancer before [REDACTED].

Shockwave was reading through this new assistant’s file, occasionally glancing away from his dat apad to actually get a look at them. They certainly were short, only standing at around 27 feet in height. Though, to be fair, shockwave was taller than almost everyone, standing at a large 35 feet, not including his antennae.

The small Decepticon looked up at their superior, curious as to what he would assign them to do. Perhaps they’d have to go get materials? Or grab tools for Shockwave’s experiments? Whatever the case, Lightningdancer was more than thrilled to do it.

What Lightningdancer didn’t expect was for Shockwave to immediately start prying. Though, this time, they wouldn’t be afraid to hide their actions. Not now.

“So… is there anything I should know about that redacted information?” Shockwave asked, looking at the other bot with curiosity in his sole optic. He wouldn’t push too much, but he wouldn’t stop seeking answers. After all, it was illogical to hide things from your superiors, right?

“I wanted to see why they were so rude and cruel. I didn’t mean to harm them… much,” Lightningdancer typed out, looking up at Shockwave, the look in their optic not one of revenge or anger, but instead… joy? Shockwave was confused. Though, perhaps his new assistant would prove useful during experiments.

“Did you find your answer?” Shockwave questioned, looking at the smaller bot curiously.

“No, but I wasn’t nearly finished when I was stopped. I thought I was doing the world a great service, but others didn’t view my work the same,” Lightningdancer typed out, looking up at the larger Decepticon one they were done.

Shockwave’s gaze softened a bit and he gently patted Lightningdancer’s head. He found this little Decepticon fascinating already. They would definitely be a great help with Shockwave’s experiments.

“Well… let’s just say that we’ve both done our fair bit of experimenting. Though I would greatly appreciate your help, and once I’m done you could… find a use for our subjects,” Shockwave said, a soft hum following his words as he went back towards his usual lab work.

Lightningdancer couldn’t wait to see what was in store for them next, especially whilst working under Shockwave.
