“It's almost time for my sister to get up, so I have to get back to bed...” Said, Romani. “See ya later... Little hero.”
Link smiled with gratitude. He missed hearing others call him a hero. ”Take care. And see you around”
Romani started to walk off. She took a few steps before she stopped. “Oh, my last thing I wanna get out that is buzzing through my head.”
“Hmmm.” Link was confused
Romani turned around to look back at Link. “We only just met today but for some odd reason Grasshopper, you seem so cheerful around me. You know how to ride that horse already. When I sang you that tune the horse likes you seem familiar with the song. I almost as if you know me from somewhere as if we already met. Why is that?”
For a moment Link did not speak and then sighed. “You remind me of her.”
Romani tilted her head looking confused. “And who is her? You mean as in someone special?”
“Yeah, I guess you can say that.” Link chuckled as he patted his back. “When I'm around you I feel like I'm with her right now.”
“Heh heh. What is she like? Is she cute? Come on tell me! You got Romani curious now!” She was very interested in wanting to know more about this girl.
“Well, she looks and acts just like you. Ruby red hair, yellow scarf, and big blue cute eyes. You could be the same person. Her father owns a ranch back in my land just like this one.” He explained. He turn to where Epona was eating grass out on the field.
“That horse is named Epona and she belongs to her and that tune, she was the one who taught me that.” Link said pointing out at the field. Romani gasped and looked over to the field.
“What!” Tatlflew out of Link's pocket in shock. “Your horse is someone else's horse! Why would she let you take her?”
Link looked a little annoyed by her outburst. “Two reasons Tatl. One, I want to find an important friend of mine she knows how important she is to me she understands that, and second, she trusts me to take care of her me and Epona have a special bond.”
“Well so far you're doing a great job at taking care of her and yourself are you.” Tatl said sarcastically.
Link growled. “I would be doing much better if it wasn't for someone I know.”
“Sorry to interrupt but you told me. What was her name? Romani asked.
Link looked back at Romani. “Her name is Malon. She is a very cheerful farm girl.
“Malon? That's a nice name. If we are so much alike does that mean she gives you a nickname Grasshopper?” She smirked.
“Uuugghh” Link groaned. “Yes. Yes, she does. Malon gives me the name Fairy boy cause I normally hang around with a fairy.”
Romani giggled at this. “Makes sense but to Romani, you will always be known as Grasshopper. So does she know you have a crush on her?”
Link's cheeks turn red like a tomato. “Pheww. What crush? What crush do you have?” Link tried to play dumb.
“Now, now Grasshopper. You can't expect us to think that we don't see it.”
Link sighed in defeat. “Fine. No, she doesn't. Malon makes me think of the type of life I wanna have when I'm not out trying to help satisfy people or trying to be a hero. But I just can't bring myself to tell her how I feel maybe in time she may realize her feelings for me until then I was.” He was cut off a Romani rushed into him lock him in a tight hug.
“W-what are you doing? Romani?” He said softly.
“I'm hugging you, what does it look like.”
“Yeah I know but why? He asked. Romani let go of him and placed her hands on his shoulders.
“To give you some confidence. You say this Malon and I are exactly alike. Then I am sure she would be into you and would be lucky to have you. Because what you have done tonight would make anyone like you and I for one think you're pretty cool. And I am sure she would think to same.” She said with a confident smile. “But you shouldn't wait to see if she makes the first move, you gotta make the first move while you are both young!” She said firmly.
“Huh? Why?” Link asked.
“I have mentioned this before but my big sister has someone she likes but that person is getting married on the day of the carnival. She missed her chance.”
“Oh...” Link felt sick in the stomach.
Romani clutched her hands onto Link's hands. “I don't want the same thing happening to you too. If the girl Malon is someone you care about. Then make sure she knows it while you are young. Then I believe you two have a chance to be together!”
Link felt her words giving him motivation slowly his discouragement was replaced with determination.
Finally, Link grinned. “I guess needed some motivation. Thanks, Romani, and your right. When I see her again I will do whatever I can to show her how much she means to me.” Link said proudly his fist on his chest.
“That's the spirit Grasshopper!” Romani cheered.
“But now is not the time for feelings. I got a job to finish and after that got a friend to find thanks for looking after Epona while I was not there for her.” Link smiled
“No worries.” She said cheerfully. “You take good care of that horse Grasshopper. Morning is almost here. I got to go now. See you around.” With one final wave from the both of them, Romani runs back to the house and shuts the door behind her.
