It had been a busy and hellish week for Choi Han, He barely even had time to check on his own boyfriend. Luckily, it was Friday and he doesn't have any plans for tomorrow. Choi Han missed his boyfriend and wanted to see how he was doing these past few days though it was late at night so he figured might as well do it first thing in the morning once he wakes up.
Cale might be sleeping right now, and he didn't want to disturb him. But just for good measures, Choi Han opened their chat and composed a message.

Choi Han almost choked on his saliva when he saw that his message was immediately seen.

Cale-nim is awake?! ∑(O_O;)
Choi Han doubled check the time and saw that it was already 2 am...
This late?!
....Okay maybe he's not one to talk but still! This is quite the shock! Cale, his Cale would normally be asleep around this time!
And why was he even not responding and just...read his message?
Choi Han was getting worried.

Cale-nim please answer me
[Cale]

Yes I'm awake

Choi Han could feel that Cale was teasing him right now by asking if he's also awake when its already obvious. He shifted his body on the bed for a bit before smiling. Okay maybe he overreacted, maybe Cale was fine and decided to try something new.... but isn't staying up late still bad for his health?
Choi Han didn't know whether he should smile at the fact that Cale seems to be fine or frown at the fact that his beloved Cale-nim was still awake.
[Me]
Why are you still up?
[Cale]
Can't sleep
Seeing Cale's response, Choi Han's heart felt tight. He never expected Cale of all people to have troubles sleeping at night. After all, Cale loved sleeping and would be the first one to get knocked down the moment his face hits any soft mattress in their circle of friends. The fact that he can't sleep was worrisome.
[Me]
Why is Cale-nim unable to sleep?
Choi Han was truly sad, he was even unconsciously pouting. But when he saw Cale's reply he immediately smiled.
[Cale]

[Me]
Did you just call me a god Cale-nim?
He didn't got a reply and he was left on seen. Choi Han laughed.

Choi Han was laughing, its not everyday that he get to mess with Cale like this. Though the late hour was concerning even though he was actually enjoying himself. It has been days since he last talked to Cale after all, but Choi Han knows his priorities which is Cale's safety, then Cale's health.

But Cale-nim you didn't answer my question
Why can't you sleep? ༶ඬ༝ඬ༶
[Cale]

Stop sending those puppy memes.
God, you're not helping me sleep if you do that
Choi Han, once again choked on his saliva. He did not expect Cale to send his own picture. He had to take a deep breathe before typing out a response.
[Me]
I'm sorry, I was wrong
I won't do it again
If they had been facing each other, Cale would have a smug look on his face knowing that he made Choi Han retreat just by using his own looks. What a cheat, really. Cale knew how to use his cards to his advantage, Choi Han would lose every. Single. Time. He's just way too whipped for Cale, and Cale won't hesitate to use that fact for his benefit. Not that Choi Han would ever complain.

I can't sleep because of it
Choi Han frowned. Alberu isn't the type to do this kind of prank...right? He really wasn't....
[Me]
Something scary?
Choi Han was now laying on his stomach, having figured that they'll end up talking longer than he thought.
[Cale]
I'm not scared
The denial was somewhat cute, Choi Han was about to smile if it wasn't for the next message sent.
[Cale]

I can't get it out of my mind
Choi Han was now frowning. What did Alberu sent? It probably wasn't something bad... He hope its not. Or else he'll have to have a serious talk with Alberu tomorrow, after he spends the morning talking to Cale of course.
But there was something telling Choi Han that this wasn't the only sleepless night Cale had. He probably won't tell him about it because that's how Cale is.
Though Choi Han was taken by surprise when Cale suddenly sent a voice message. He clicked the play button before placing the speaker of his phone near his ear.
Choi Han....
He had to take a deep breathe after hearing Cale's voice. It really had been long since the last time he heard Cale call his name.
....I can't sleep
'Does he even know what he's trying to imply here?!'
Choi Han sat up and leaned on the bed's headboard before tapping the call button. The call was quickly picked up.
"Cale-nim"
He heard shifting movements on the other side, ["Hmm"]
"I missed you too"
When he didn't hear any sort of response from Cale, Choi Han started to smile.
"Come rest your bones next to me"
Cale always wants one thing from him. And Choi Han always granted his every wish.
"And toss all your thoughts to the sea"
For some reason, Cale always wants to hear him sing. Though he's not exactly confident with his own singing voice, but so long as Cale is happy he'd do anything.
"I'll pull up each of our anchor, so we can get lost you and me"
But Cale never explicitly stated it himself. It is just something Choi Han figured on his own. He would brag it any day that he's the one who knows Cale the best that he can even find out this kind of things about him.
"My heart is buried in Venice, Hidden beneath all my worries and doubts"
This wasn't the first time he had sing for Cale to listen, he had even done it as a joke by sending a voice message of him singing before Cale went to bed and that it will help him sleep better. Surprisingly, Cale really did slept well that time. How did he know? he just figured.
After all, he had mastered the ways of a simp.

He continued to sing while Cale listened. Like this, everything felt light and comfortable. Almost a resemblance of rest.
"Even when you try to hide it, A smile creeps out from your teeth"
"I never thought that I would have to say I'm sorry, For anyone but me"

Choi Han paused for a bit, "Cale-nim?"
["Hmm"]
"Its actually a sad song," he sounded sheepish, "is it okay? I mean, is it helping you feel sleepy?"
Silence.
There were shifting movements again before Cale's voice was heard. Though it was quiet.
["...Don't stop"]
Choi Han smiled before continuing.
"Say, say what you mean, Tell me the truth or tell me you're through"
"Don't leave me to breathe, Don't leave me to bleed"
"For someone who chose to leave me be"
"My heart is buried in Venice, Waitin' for someone to take it...Home"
Once Choi Han was done singing, both of them were quiet for a bit.
A few more minutes passed with Choi Han just listening to Cale's light breathing before he called out to the latter.
"Cale-nim?"
["Hmm?"]
He sounded lazy. Choi Han let out a lighthearted laugh.
"Already sleepy?"
["...No"]
"Pfft," he finds himself smiling. Really, Cale is always cute when he denies things.
"Go to sleep, Cale-nim"
["..."]
Choi Han slowly slid down to lay back down on his bed, laying on his side, "Goodnight Cale-nim"
["...I don't want to sleep."]
Choi Han laughs at his response. It was obvious what he was asking, and as much as Choi Han wants to indulge Cale's want to hear him sing more it was already 3 in the morning and they both need rest.
"I'll sing to you again tomorrow, so now go to sleep, Cale-nim"
["...Tomorrow?"]
"Hmm"
["Not later?"]
Choi Han found himself taking a deep breathe, suppressing the urge to bolt to Cale's house just to pinch his cheeks. His Cale was being too cute, he should get arrested for it.
"Later. Later when you wake up, I'll sing again"
Cale didn't immediately respond. 2 minutes passed before he did,
["Okay... okay, promise?"]
Choi Han subconsciously smiles as he close his eyes,
"Promise"
