Tony was sitting on his child's bed, listening to Peter's ramblings, that was a difficult day for the boy, his voice sounded tired too, but he still kept his usual enthusiasm, talking non-stop about the old lady that he had helped to cross the street and how the owner of a stolen bicycle had presented him with a donut after Peter managed to retrieve it.
Tony smiled, it was hard to believe he had been so lucky to find such a sweet child, for a moment he felt envious of Ben and May, who had had Peter in their arms for so long, but also internally thanked for being like that, maybe Tony raising a child could be a disaster. Before Peter, of course...
Now he knows he's ready, the boy showed it to him, all the good and bad parts too, but now looking at Morgan sleeping in her Spider-Man blanket, he knows it was worth all the heart attacks the kid had already given him. He knows how Morgan liked to hear his older brother's adventures...
Tony slowly leaves Morgan's room, giving her a tender kiss on her forehead and turning off the lights, then goes into the living room and replays again the voicemails Peter left him... Sometimes it's like the boy is still there, God, he misses these little talks.
Tony knows he needs to move on, but for today, he's going to press back on the message again, hear his son's voice one more time, until he can feel that some void has been filled.
