Work Text:
Emira’s POV
I was just walking by the street when I first met him. He was just chilling by the bench, probably waiting for someone. “Excuse me, but is this seat taken?” I asked him. “I’ve been waiting for someone too.”
“No, it isn’t. You can sit here if you want.” He told me. For some reason, I felt a kinship with this guy, but I don’t know why. It’s my first time meeting him. “So, who are you?”
“I’m James Lancaster.”, he replied. “And who are you?”
“Hi, I’m Emira Blight. Nice to meet you, James.” Now that the two of us have introduced each other, I wanted to know why he was there in the first place. “I’m just waiting for my sister, Emily.” That name alone, Emily, caught my interest. “So, who’s Emily to you?” I asked him.
“Only the kindest soul to ever exist.” And that’s when Emily arrived with, to my surprise, Edric. “How did these two even meet?!” I thought to myself.
James’ POV
My head was scratching at the fact that Emily had already met Edric. “How did you two even meet?” I asked them, wanting answers.
“Oh, I met Edric in that grocery store over there when I was doing some errands.” She was referring to Lilac’s Supermarket, a grocery near my house. That’s where mom does her groceries. Diana shops there as well. I’m even more curious as to why Edric and Emira are even here.
“So, uh, where did you two come from?” I ask in disbelief.
“Well, we’re from a place called Wonder World.”, replied Emira. That part caught me off-guard, but what did I expect since they both have very pointy ears. Emily, unsurprisingly, started giggling like a fangirl. “Please, tell me more…” She begged.
“So, are you two twins?” Edric asked me, to which I say yes, but I then added, “Fraternal twins, to be exact.” That alone got them interested in us.
“You know, James, the four of us can be really good friends.” I eventually shook hands with Emira. “Oh, and you can call me Em.”
“Sorry, but I use that nickname for Emily and no one else.” Edric then told me that there were no hard feelings. I later asked them, “So, wanna come to our house? I have a newly-bought PS5 waiting for us.”
We all agreed, and we went to our house.
Emily’s POV
“Hi, Mom. We have some guests here.” I was the one who introduced the Blight twins to Mom, and the rest of our siblings. “This is Edric, and this is Emira.” Mom was actually delighted to see us making new friends, even if they were from other universes.
“So, what do you guys wanna play?” I asked them.
“Well, I picked this up at the nearest GameStop.” Emira then pulled out a copy of that new Ratchet and Clank game James and I wanted to play, so it seemed natural that we’d be in awe. And so, we played the game for hours on end. That was, until we got really tired and all four of us ended up sleeping on the couch.
“Good night, guys.” I told them.
Emira’s POV
The next morning, James was outside, watching the park outside. I thought that James felt a bit lonely, so I went to him to keep him company. “Hey, James. Are you okay?”
“I’m alright. It’s just feels good to have some me time.”, he replied. “I don’t know why, but it feels like I feel much better if I’m all alone.”
That alone basically gave the confirmation that he’s a bit aloof. “So, were you always like that, James? Not everything has to be kept to yourself.” He then lock eyes with me, saying, “Tell me more.”
I sat down with him to talk, and that’s where his true self shines. He’s actually easy-going and fun to talk to. I think that might be due to the influence of his sister, Emily, who was always there for him. I kept thinking, “James has a thing for me, doesn’t he?”
But them he blurted out, “You’re like an older sister to me.”, much to Emily’s annoyance.
She started coming outside saying,“Uh, James, are you pretending that Meli and Zora don’t exist?” And she started looking at the both of us. “By the way, Emira, my brother is dating somebody.”
“Oh, I didn’t know that, to be honest.” But then Emily hugged me, saying that’s how he is from time to time. You know, I can’t help but feel that both James and Emily are completely different from Ed and I. They seem to have this “Siblings should care for each other” attitude towards each other. I think that’s partly because James himself is emotionally fragile. And Emily, well, she has an incredible amount of patience towards him. She seems to act like James’ best friend if anything.
All was going well until we saw Amity, who came by to pick us up. “Hey, guys. I didn’t know you two were here.” She commented.
“Well, I guess that’s all the time we have for now.”, replied Edric. As Ed and I said our goodbye, we couldn’t leave without taking a groufie along with Amity. That was the beginning of our beautiful friendship with the Lancasters.
The End…
