Chapter Text
Joe and Nicky worked in the same building but on different floors. That much they both were sure of when their eyes met each other the fourth time that week in the canteen.
On the fifth day, Joe wanted to know, who Nicky was and when Joe saw him leaving the canteen, Joe almost jumped over each table between him and the entrance in the hope to talk with him, but when he got out of the canteen there was no one.
"Looking for someone?" A voice asked from behind which made Joe turn around, where Joe saw the man he wanted to find.
"Yeah, you," Joe replied and watched as the man kneeled to tie his shoes.
"Then you're in luck because 30 seconds later I would have been gone," Nicky replied with a smile.
Joe noticed that Nicky had changed clothes.
"Going somewhere?" Joe asked.
"Yep, kickboxing," Nicky replied. "Got a fight tonight."
Joe didn't know anything about kickboxing because the only sport that had ever interested him was football.
"Are you good at it?" Joe wanted to know.
"Not really, but I like it," Nicky replied. "You know a weak man like me has to know how to defend himself if needed."
Nicky made a dramatic gesture by supporting himself to the staircase's railing which made Joe laugh.
"Anyway, I need to get going but pick me up tomorrow at 6 pm at this address," Nicky said and held out a piece of paper, which Joe took with a smile. "I'm Nicky by the way."
"I'm Joe," Joe replied. "So, what do you want to do tomorrow?"
"You decide as long it's vegetarian, there is wine, and I get to spend the entire evening looking at you, then I'm up to everything," Nicky replied with a smile. "And before you ask: no I'm not a special diet with my sport because it's just something I do for fun."
"Noted," Joe replied. "So, is it now I say: go get them, tiger?"
Nicky laughed over the last comment.
"Thanks for the support," Nicky replied and picked up his backpack. "See you tomorrow, Joe. Remember 6 pm."
"I'll be there 5.59 pm," Joe promised and watched as Nicky ran towards the exit.
